The Warrior Miko

Prologue

`Their all dead. I am the last of my people,' she thought, tears running down her eyes. She watched as her village went up in smoke, with pain and determination to never become a victim again.

On a hill, slightly above the burning village, a man watched the child, thinking that she had the potential to be great. He decided to approach her.

"Child, come away before you are hurt." he said.

"They are all gone and I am the last." she said sadly.

"Can you tell me who did this?"

"Demons." she said very quietly. Had the man not been listening, he never would have caught the quiet word."Ah," he said. "Come with me and I will teach you to defend and protect yourself and others. Will you come?"

She just looked at him quietly, like she was trying to look into his soul. He told her, "You have a power in you, a power you must take control of or it will destroy you. I can teach you to harness your power and use it to its full potential. Are you willing?" he asked with an earnest and tender look, for he likes children and feels sorry for the little one.

`He seems nice,' she thought, but looks can be deceiving. As if he read her mind he said, "I will not harm you, for I do not prey on those weaker than myself.

"Ok, I will go with you. What is your name?"

"I am name Lu Shang."

"My name is Nani."
