InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Water Priestess and A Dog ❯ Come Back Chi! ( Chapter 1 )

Overheard in Tokyo Café…
" Even in my wildest dreams, I never could've imagined what happened to me! See, it all started when I got my pet dog, Chi (who looked sorta like a cat), went in my room and just ran to a well. I chased after him, and went through the well as well. When I finally looked around, I noticed everywhere was covered in grass, and I wasn't inside anymore. My dog had gotten kidnapped by an evil demon. I chased after it like mad, at crazy speeds, and when I finally caught up to it, I punched it like you wouldn't believe! Of course, that was quite a ways back in time from now, yeah? The evil demon got away with my dog, somewhere near a village. So anyway, then that demon drops my precious Chi at the very tip-top of the mountain. Well, I went towards it in a hurry to look for Chi, yeah? And you know what? Chi didn't even have a scratch on him!

When I found him there, there was this odd teenage boy with dog ears, dressed in red there, too… I met this old hag, and from what she told me, it was that boy in red who saved Chi. And apparently the demon that mistook Chi for this poor guy's girlfriend's, cat for my dog, Chi. So, I want to go off and go back to my world, but the old hag says I have to go with the guy, and he wants to save his girlfriend's cat anyways, so he comes along, yeah? Well, I was sorta against the idea, of course, but as usual, my whimsy won out…

So you wanna know how things turned out? Well, it's a long tale…"

Sasami just came home from school, and the pet shop. She decided to name her little puppy, Chi. It was a light brown, like the color of regular cereal. He had light brown eyes, and a long tail. His ears were floppy too. She let Chi go outside, and he ran around. She went back inside her house and said, "Mom! I'm home!…?" Sasami ran through the house, but found no one. Sasami sighed and went to her room. Sasami heard a yelp far away. It was heard at one of her classmates house. She picked up her bookbag and ran to where she heard Chi. When she got there, she saw a small part of the shrine with an old well in it. "…Chi…?" She went inside and looked around. Her dog was barking at the well. "Silly little pup." She pat his head a couple times and was about to leave, when Chi jumped down the well. "Chi! Come back!" She went in after him. The light surrounded Chi. "Chi, what did you do?!" Chi jumped onto Sasami's lap, and the light surrounded both of them. Sasami screamed as she went back to the Feudal Times.

"Oh Chi, what have you gotten me into?" Sasami asked her dog as she climbed out. She grabbed the vines and picked up her dog. She eventually got out, and put the leash on Chi. "C'mon, let's see if I can get directions home…or not." Said Sasami as she found her self in a village. She saw a big ugly looking thing come and grab her dog. "Chi!!" She looked around and just ran into one hut. "Please you have to help me!" She asked and ran after the thing that took her puppy. She saw it and punched as best she could thing said, "Are you trying to get yourself hurt you fool?" Sasami smiled nervously, "Uh, no, I just would like to have my dog back…?" The thing snarled and ran at a high speed, and left her dog on top of a mountain. She went after it as best she could, wanting her dog back, but she couldn't catch up. She reached the village that she was in before, and looked around. She saw a boy carrying her dog like it was trash, and an old hag talking to him.

Sasami ran over and saw the boy. He looked really strange to her. He had dog ears that looked like Chi's, and he was wearing a feudal red kimono. He looked at her for a moment and she started yelling. "Hey! Give me my dog back!! You shouldn't hold him that way! He'll bite you next time!" "Who are you?" asked the boy. "Why do you want to know?" she answered back looking away. He rolled his eyes. "Cause that's Kagome's uniform!" "Duh!" she said back as she grabbed Chi from him. "Look, child…ye sure ye not related to Inuyasha?" asked the old lady as she turned at looked at Sasami. "Huh?" she said as Chi barked. "I just want the shard that dog has!" said the boy angrily getting agitated by the old lady's joke. " My name is Kaede, and this is Inuyasha, might I ask what ye's name is?" Kaede asked. "My name is Sasami….Sasami Kuwaii. I came here on accident. My dog jumped down a well and…." She got cut off by Inuyasha saying, "So that's how you got here." Kaede spoke, "Then, your dog seems to have shards. Could you see them?" "No. But I did feel a strange aura coming from the well. I was…drawn to it. Actually the air was drawing me in towards the well." "I see. You are also special as Kagome is. You, are the priestess of the water god. I have read scriptures of someone coming to save us. From, I do not know, but it is certain ye are the one." Sasami was confused.

"Go with Inuyasha," Kaede continued, "And find Kagome, and her cat. Then, it is your duty to fulfill the duties of being the priestess of the water god. " "But I don't understand. What am I supposed to do?" said Sasami still confused. "Well, ye must first help Inuyasha. Other than that, your duties of being the priestess is quite simple. You first, have to meet the lord of the Western Lands. That is where ye journey begins. Then ye must get together. That is about as much as I know." Kaede said bringing out the scroll with the legend written on it. Sasami read it. It did indeed say she needed to be with the western lord. But what did it mean become one? And the priestess' fate is/can be fatal? It didn't sound much to pleasant. Kaede brought some dirty murky rotten water. "Child, ye can purify and make this water so clean no evil creature can touch it. Sasami wasn't to sure but did anyways. She put her finger on the surface of the water and it cleared. She drank a bit and it tasted like filtered water, only sweeter. Kaede took a cursed slug, and dropped it in the water. The slug was immediately burned and the ashes cleared, leaving the water pure again. "No go children, ye have to help Kagome." Inuyasha just started walking. Sasami followed, with Chi following on his red leash.
