InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Water Priestess and A Dog ❯ Discoveries ( Chapter 2 )
Oh, I forgot to put the disclaimer, so here it is: I don't own Inuyasha at all! If I did, I would be a millionair, and a very happy person. On to the chapter.
Sasami and Inuyasha had been walking for a while. Chi had gotten tired a couple hours ago, so Sasami was carrying him. Inuyasha didn't speak to Sasami at all, so, she didn't attempt to speak to him. Until she couldn't stand the silence anymore that is. "Inuyasha, right? How do you know Kagome?" Inuyasha glared at her and said, " Look stupid, I ain't gonna answer your question, cause it ain't your business!" Sasami yelled back, dropping Chi. "I'm not stupid! My name is Sasami! Sa-Sa-Mi! Okay? Now, call me by my name right now!" Inuyasha looked away. "Fine!" Sasami looked away to, as Chi looked at the two of them and had an anime sweatdrop. Inuyasha turned around and continued walking. "Stupid Water Priestess," he muttered. Sasami was thinking, `Why me? Why couldn't I have bought a normal dog, not one with a shikon shard?' Inuyasha stopped and sniffed the air. Sasami stopped to, picking up Chi, and bringing him close to her. "Sesshoumaru..." Inuyasha said softly, waiting for him to attack.
Sesshoumaru had walked a few miles, after leaving Rin, at a good home. He couldn't take care of her anymore, seeing as how much danger he was getting into, and didn't want to worry about protecting somebody. He looked east and sensed Inuyasha.
Sasami somehow knew his name(she didn't hear Inuyasha say it) and whispered at first, "Sesshoumaru,..." Then she looked at Inuyasha and continued, "Isn't he the Lord of the Western Lands?" Inuyasha totall forgot about that and nodded.
Sesshoumaru walked towards Inuyasha, Jaken following close behind. "Lord Sesshoumaru, what is bothering you?" Jaken asked in his submissive tone as usual. "My half brother is near. With someone else. I had thought he had lost her to Naraku." Sesshoumaru continued walking at his normal pace, no emotions showing as usual .
Sasami was wondering why Inuyasha was so alert and on guard. She shrugged it off, and put her dog back down. Sesshoumaru was in view, and Inuyasha said, "What do you want? You know you can't weild Tetsuseiga, so there's no use." Sesshoumaru payed no attention and looked at the childish looking girl next to him, playing with her animal. "Picked up another human, I suppose." "No!" Yelled Inuyasha looking at Sasami. Sasami looked at both of them and stood up. She then moved close to Sesshoumaru and asked, "So, are you Sesshoumaru?" Sesshoumaru didn't answer and only glared at her. "Well?!"Sasami said beginning to get impatient. Inuyasha was a little shocked at first she would do that to a demon, but then again, she didn't know any better, and he had a feeling she didn't care. Sesshoumaru answered, "How do you know me?" Sasami said, "I don't know....I don't really." Inuyasha face faulted and stood back up. Sesshoumaru looked at her dog, who was bouncing up and down near his feet. He sensed the dog was more powerful than it should have been and asked, "Why does your animal have a strange aura?" "It's not an animal, his name is Chi, and it's because he has a shikon shard in his forehead! Look, I can't believe later, I'm gonna have to be stuck with you..." Before she finshed, her asked why. "Because I am the Water Priestess, and you are the Lord of the Western Lands." Sesshoumaru recalled a legend speaking of such, but he never believed, not wanting to be stuck with some wench from another time. He was glad it wasn't Kagome, but now he was stuck with something even more....he thought for a moment. `If she knew my name before she even knew I existed, and then is able to throw off such a pure aura, maybe she isn't as pathetic as she may seem.'
Sasami sighed and picked up Chi. "He likes you! Hold him?" Sesshoumaru stared and answered, "Why is it that you are not afraid of me? Is it because you do not know any better, or is it because you simply don't care?" Sasami smiled and answered, "Well, actually, you don't scare me. You may be a great demon, and powerful, but you seem...nice." Inuyasha burst out laughing. "Nice?! Yeah right, that'll be the day!" Seshoumaru ignored Inuyasha, and he felt something soft in his hand. He looked down to see he was holding the animal. Chi wagged his tail and barked happily. Sesshoumaru set the dog down, and turned to walk away. "Hey! I have to know where you'll be!" Sasami said, loudly, not angily. It just came out of his mouth, "At the palace." He didn't know what possesed him to tell her, but he did, and he couldn't take it back, seeing as she bowed a little and left with Inuyasha.
Sesshoumaru walked to the palace wondering why he had told her. She was an annoying little brat, who eats alot, never cleans up after herself, and is extremely to kind and soft hearted. `Wait...how do I know these things?' Sesshoumaru thought to himself, as his servants bowed downand went back to work. He went up to his library, to get some information. He found an old book that helped he read:
The Priestess formerly knew the lord, as the lord formerly knew the Priestess. Though they were different in every way, they have been tied to gether ever since they were born. Sasami, mean `water' or `bringer to a new life' as Sesshoumaru means `to destroy life'. Day by day, as they stay together, they will be more used to each other, but when she summons the water god to grant three wishes, the Priestess's destiny has been fulfilled, and she will have a fateful death.
Sesshoumaru only read that paragraph, but needed to not know any more. He might read more later, but not now. He looked his name up and Sasami's name up and they meant what the book had said. Now, he wanted to know more, he wanted to knwo why his father named him that, why Sasami dies short after the summoning, and why is the death so horrible? He seemed obsessed with her, as Jaken described it, but he didn't care. He wanted to learn more.
