As soon as Azumi disappeared into her hut, Izayoi and Keitaro deemed it safe to sniff around for a bit. They crept quietly out of the forest and leapt over the large fence surrounding Azumi's home.

Izayoi lifted her head and sniffed, searching for her own scent on the sword. It was hard to pick out with all the other scents that surrounded her. She frowned slightly. “I can't really pick anything up.” She looked to her companion, and nearly jumped to find him gone. “Keitaro?”

Blinking in the semi-darkness, she finally caught sight of him heading towards the storage shed where Azumi had stored her giant weird looking weapon. Sighing with relief, Izayoi followed after him.

“In here.” He confirmed, and pushed the door open.

It was nearly pitch black in the small building, but the two youkai could see almost perfectly. Of course, Keitaro could see slightly better than Izayoi, but it was relatively the same. Immediately, the young half hanyou started sniffing around, while Keitaro looked about at the other items in the storeroom.

“Whoa…” he muttered.

There were many valuable-looking artifacts - sutras, small replicas of holy shrines, ancient scrolls and books. The purification aura was strong, so strong it nearly made Keitaro sneeze. “You sure this Azumi girl isn't a priestess?”

Izayoi shook her head. “No. I didn't feel any spiritual aura when I met with her. Plus she didn't have any sacred arrows. My mother's a priestess don't forget.”

Keitaro frowned and moved on. “True, but that doesn't explain all of these artifacts.”

“Or these either.”

Izayoi had stopped sniffing and was looking down curiously. Rows of kantanas were lined up, along with poison masks and four large weapons like Azumi's, hers obviously included. A small bundle of poison powder lay nearby and Izayoi blanched at the rotten stench of it. Lucky it was still pack away or she'd really be out of it because of her sense of smell. Shaking her head, she turned from the youkai slayer weapons and suddenly, to her relief, she spotted the Kenshuga. It was lying on a high shelf… but it was surrounded by warding sutras. When she tried to get it down it zapped her

“Oy!” she cursed under her breath, rubbing her burnt hand with her uninjured one. “If only I were human! When I lose my youkai powers, I get spiritual powers like my mother.”

Keitaro looked thoughtful. “Why don't you try getting it down using something else? One of the other swords, perhaps? There's a couple without seals on them.”

Izayoi grinned. “Good idea.”

Grabbing one of the kantanas, Izzy reached up with it and pulled the sword towards the edge. It broke free of the sutras and as it fell off the shelf, she caught it deftly. “Yes! Now we can-“

“Stop.”

Izayoi twitched. “Actually I was going to say go, but-“

“No, Izayoi. Stop.”

She looked at him curiously, tying the sword to her waist and grabbing the hilt out of habit, just in case. “What's the matter?”

“How many strange weapons were there?”

Izayoi blinked. “I think four.”

Keitaro turned to face her, blue eyes glinting. “Well there's only three now.”

The hairs on the back of Izayoi's neck stood up and she growled, low in her throat. “We've been discovered. She must've masked her scent. Now, let's get out of-“

“Hiraikotsu!!!!”

There was a loud crash and Izayoi instantly leapt up and out of the shed as the very roof was torn off. Keitaro wasn't as quick, and was knocked back a few feet and lay unconscious.

She landed on the ground at a safe distance away, still clutching her sword hilt and breathing heavily as the dust settled. She supposed to bag of poison powder had ripped open during the attack as the stench was growing. She wasn't affected terribly, however, as she was far enough away to only detect it lightly.

Golden eyes swept the area and finally spotted Azumi, suspended high in the air atop a giant…. Cat? Izayoi was at a loss.

Her weapon came spinning back to her, and the girl caught it deftly. Izayoi's eyes widened. It's like a giant boomerang!

Azumi's eyes narrowed as she stared down at Izayoi. “You're the one called Izayoi, are you not? You thought you could fool me into thinking you were only a human, didn't you? Well I'm not stupid, and I know you're a half-“

“Shut up!” Izayoi shouted, drawing Kenshuga. “What's with you?! Just the other day you were helping me and now you're- Yahh!”

She leapt high out of the way as the boomerang zoomed towards her again. Growling, she landed and a vein ticked on her forehead. “Cut it out already!”

Azumi glared down at her opponent. “You were stealing from my storerooms! I should've let you die, then you never would've tracked me back to my family!”

Izayoi blinked. She doesn't understand.

“Wait a sec!” Izayoi yelled, sheathing her sword. “I only came to get my sword back!”

“Not likely!” she shouted, and Izayoi gasped as she realized Azumi was tying on a mask to shield her from… poison powder!

“Stupid! I said cut it-“

“Azumi, stop this!!”

Both teens turned towards the voice and saw Azumi's mother standing not too far away, her outfit similar to Azumi's. Said girl was staring, dumbfounded, down at her mom.

“Mother, but-“

“I said stop!”

Azumi fell silent and the taijiya's gaze shifted to Izayoi, who stared in return.

“Umm…. Hi. This is all a big misunder-“

“IZAYOI!”

Izayoi sighed, shaking her head. “… standing.”

At that instant, Inuyasha landed beside her, pulling her into a tight embrace while Kouga dashed to his slowly awakening son. “Iz! Why did you-“

“I-Inu…. Yasha?”

Inuyasha, still holding tight to his eldest daughter, spun around to face Azumi's mother. Shock was written clearly on his face and his jaw dropped slightly. “S-Sango?”

Azumi's mother let out a yell and dashed at Izayoi and her father. Instantly, Izayoi moved and watched as, laughing, Inuyasha caught Sango in a friendly hug and held her tight. It lasted only briefly, and when it was over, they both pulled back and grinned.

“Miroku!” Sango called, still clutching Inuyasha's sleeve with one hand. “Miroku, get out here! It's Inuyasha!!”

Almost instantly, the man Izayoi recognized as Azumi's father appeared and soon the two men were also grinning and clapping each other on the back, as if they were old friends.

Azumi had landed and gotten off of the giant cat, and now stood beside Izayoi. Both stared blankly Izzy's father and Azumi's parents laughed and chatted merrily. Azumi spoke first.

“Did I miss something?”

Their earlier argument forgotten, Izayoi shrugged. “I'm as lost as you are.”
