The Woman Who Loved Sesshomaru: Newlyweds
Princess Sada played her flute in a field of flowers. For some reason, she always felt calm playing her flute. It was like, when she was playing, she was one with her flute and the sound just came to her. Then a soft breeze soared past the princess and caressed her long raven hair.
As she played, she felt a vibration in the bed of flowers she was sitting on. “Show yourself.” Sada said softly. “It's just me,”
Sada turned around and saw Sesshomaru, her husband. “I came to tell you that I've found a place to celebrate our honeymoon.” Sada smiled. She rose and walked up to Sesshomaru. “I love you,” she said.
Sesshomaru leaned down and kissed the princess. “I love you too.”
Sada had always had a way of making Sesshomaru show his soft side. Like she could make him say he loved her and he wanted to be with her forever. And she would always say, “I feel the same way.”
“What happened to Rin and Jaken, my dear?” Sada asked as she cuddled up to her husband under a cherry blossom tree. “Rin went to gather flowers, Jaken went with her.”
After Sesshomaru and Sada married, they adopted Rin. Jaken was just the family friend. Now, Rin refers to them as Mommy and Papa.
A strange look played on Sesshomaru's face. “What is it, my love?” Sada asked, obviously concerned. “Go inside.” He pointed to their palace. “But why? What is wrong?” Sada had always been stubborn. “Go inside!” Sesshomaru said, this time more aggressive.
The frightened princess dashed across the field to the palace. Jaken and Rin greeted her at the door. “What's wrong, Mommy?” Rin asked. Sada started to breathe hard. “Let's get you inside.” Jaken held her left hand, Rin held her right, and they both helped Sada inside.
“You should get some rest, milady.” Jaken said as the princess sat down. “No Jaken, It's alright. Let me just tell you what happened.” Rin and Jaken both sat down to listen. “Sesshomaru and I were talking under a cherry blossom tree and then, out of nowhere, he got a strange look on his face and he told me to go inside. What do you think is wrong?” Jaken's voice got gruff. “Naraku.”

Sesshomaru grabbed his Tojikiin. “Kagura,” A beautiful female demon wearing a purple and white kimono emerged from the shadows. “Hello Sesshomaru.” Her piercing red eyes glistened. Kagura had a baby in her hands. “I've heard of that child.” Sesshomaru said. “He has been killing numerous monks and priests just to find the last shikon shard.” The baby smiled. “Kagura, he knows.”
“Dance of the Dragons!” A yellowish light sprang from Kagura's fan. “Not so tough now, huh Sesshomaru?” Just then, a familiar voice yelled Sesshomaru's name. “Sesshomaru, wait!” It was Princess Sada!
“Sada, I thought I told you to go in,” Sesshomaru said. “My love, I know where the last shikon shard is!” Kagura smiled evilly. “Well where is it, Princess?” Sada shook her head and started to cry. “I can't tell you,” She fell to her knees. “Well then, if you won't tell us, we'll just take something of equal value.” Kagura and the baby climbed onto a humongous feather and dissolved away into the mist.
“Sada, what is you problem?!” Sesshomaru yelled at his wife. “I'm sorry Sesshomaru. I-” Sesshomaru grabbed her wrist. His claws started to pierce her skin. “Oww!” Sada yelped. “We need some time apart.” And with that, Sesshomaru walked angrily away.
“Sesshomaru! Sesshomaru, my love, wait!” Sada tried to run after him but she tripped and fell. “No, no, no!” She buried her head in her hands and started to cry. “This isn't the way love is supposed to be!”

Sesshomaru halfheartedly entered his palace. He really wanted to be with Sada, because he knew he made her cry. He felt horrible.
“Papa!!!” Rin squealed. She ran up and hugged her father. “Where's mommy?” Sesshomaru stomped off. “Papa, wait!” Rin ran after him. “Rin, go to your chamber.” Sesshomaru demanded. “What'd I do, Papa?” Sesshomaru said nothing.
“Sesshomaru,” Sada said. “Stop taking your anger out on our daughter.” Sesshomaru frowned. “This is your fault.” He started to walk away. “Sesshomaru, wait.” Sada had tears in her eyes. “Look. I love you and I think this is a dumb reason for us to fight.” Sesshomaru sighed heavily. “You're right, Sada. I'm sorry.” He then hugged her and Sada's heart was burning with love for her husband.
Then, a loud explosion was heard. “Ahhh!!!!!” Sada's heart jumped. “That sounded like Rin!” Sesshomaru nodded worriedly and grabbed Sada's wrist. They both ran to Rin's chamber.
When they reached Rin's bedroom, they opened the door. They both stared at the horrible sight before them. Rin was dead.
“My baby!” Sada yelped as she ran to Rin's lifeless body. Sesshomaru stood at the doorway, trying not to cry at his daughter's sudden death.
So that's what Kagura meant by “equal value”.

The next morning, Sesshomaru woke up, hoping the day before was a dream. He turned to his side. “Sada,” he shook his wife's body.
Jaken looked at Sesshomaru as he tried to wake Sada. “I'm so sorry milord, but Lady Sada's pain was unbearable.”
