The worth of a friend

And a special thanks to ScifiAmy for the scene suggestion, I will incorporate it in this chappie just for you ^_^. I don't know how long this story will go on for people, as I don't really plan them out too well. But hopefully it won't be too long hehe. Oh and by the way, I'm guna start composing some pictures to go along with this story, so you guys will know what my char looks like.

Chapter 7

 

“Inuyasha!” Kagome growled in a deadly voice as she stalked up to him where he sat up in a tree. Waving a now empty bag of bacon flavoured puffs she shook an accusing finger up at him. “You get down here now buster! I can't believe you ate them all. You greedy pig!”

 

Glaring back down at her the naughty hanyou `kehed' and stuck his nose up in the air, ignoring his mate, which was a very bad idea, and the looks from his friends that looked back at the scene. “I did you a favour by eating them Ka-go-me. You'd only get fat scoffing them to yourself anyway.”

 

Knowing what was coming the others watched eagerly with baited breath but moved a little further away as they watched the angry miko's back stiffen and her hands ball up into fists, crushing the empty packet in her hands.

 

Shaking in her fury Kagome clenched her eyes shut as she spit out through gritted teeth at the top of her voice. “SIT BOY!”

 

Realising his error Inuyasha cringed then yelped as he was fastly introduced to his old friend; the ground. Half groaning and half growling the hanyou didn't have a chance to even lift his head to snap at his mate before she let the stream of sits fly.

 

“SIT, SIT,SIT! I can't believe you said that Inuyasha! SIT, SIT! And I would've never eaten them to myself like you did, you bakayaro. SIT!” Finished with chewing him out and panting for breath Kagome abruptly turned on her heal and headed for her backpack. Throwing the empty packet into the fire she pulled out her bath bag and towel and looked at Sango and her sister pleadingly.

 

Seeing she wanted company Hoshiko quickly gathered her own then with Sango at her side the three headed off to the river, with the taijin giving a heated warning to the other men not to follow them.

 

Groaning in pain from his position in his crater Inuyasha finally managed to pull himself out and stiffly sat back on his butt. Looking in the direction that his mate had gone and growling curses at her under his breath he sighed and felt his ears lower to his head. Feeling really bad with what he'd done Inuyasha looked up at the monk as he approached, and seeing his cold glare Miroku quickly backed away and sat back down again. With a huff the hanyou launched himself into the trees the opposite way the girls had gone, hoping a run would clear his head as well as thinking up a good enough apology, and giving his mate ample enough time to cool off.

Sitting naked on the bank of the river after their bath the three woman sat huddled together quietly for a moment, until Hoshiko broke it.

 

“It'll be ok sis. Inu didn't mean it. He just got carried away is all.”

 

Sighing in defeat Kagome pulled her knees up to her chest and gazed out over the slow flowing waters in front of them. “I know Hoshi. But sometimes I'd just wish he'd think before he acts.”

 

Chuckling Sango patted her friend on the back. “But that's the way love works sometimes Kagome. There'll be times when Inuyasha will act recklessly, all because he loves and cherishes you so much. So don't be too hard on him. After all, you've done the same thing many a times.”

 

Blushing and nodding her head Kagome hugged her sister and Sango close, who she thought of as an older sister, and whispered her thanks in their ears before letting go. Standing she followed the others to where their clothes were and started to get dressed, then stopped with her blouse in her hand as her mating mark started to tingle. Looking into the trees around them Kagome sighed and pulled the last of her clothing on.

 

“Why don't you two go on ahead without me? I'm gonna stay out here for awhile.”

 

Looking at her curiously both Sango and Hoshiko nodded before walking away, both silently knowing that Kagome needed time to herself and her mate so they could apologise. Walking underneath a tree Hoshiko looked up into the branches and smiled warmly, mouthing `she's all yours' under her breath. Once they were out of site and hearing range did the hanyou smile and jump out of the tree he was hiding in.

 

Sensing her mate approaching Kagome looked over her shoulder and watched him slowly advance, his golden eyes locked with her own showing her how sorry and bad he was feeling. Holding out a single hand to him she smiled and waited for him to grasp it.

 

Seeing her hand held out to him Inuyasha felt his mood lift and took two large steps to cover the distance between them. Taking her small soft hand in his larger callous one he pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly, his nose burying itself into her raven hair and taking in its clean scent.

 

“I'm so sorry for what I said to you Kagome.” Inuyasha began to apologise. “I got caught up in the heat of the moment. You know I don't mean those things.”

 

Returning his hug Kagome turned her head up and kissed the underside of his chin, silently showing him that she'd already forgiven him. “I know Inu. I love you so much, that sometimes I even loose my head when we start fighting. I know you like to get me riled up sometimes, it turns you on.”

 

Blushing when he realised his little secret fetish was revealed the hanyou let a roguish grin appear on his face before his mouth sought out one of her ears and began to nibble on it. “Damn fucking straight it does mate. I fucking love it when your eyes spark in anger, and when your face burns with your ire. It makes me want to throw you to the ground and have my wicked way with you.”

 

Shivering at his words Kagome let out a little giggle while she let her hands wander over the ties of his haori. “Why don't you then?” She whispered huskily in his ear that was closest to her, before reaching up and giving it a lick.

 

Growling at what she did he swept her hair to the side and attacked his mark on her shoulder with his lips and tongue, making her moan out loud as the pleasurable heat from the touch raced down her spine and settled in her loins. Moving his mouth up her throat he swiftly latched it onto her own as his hand made quick work of her clothes. Pulling off his open fire rat robe he kissed her once more on the mouth before crouching down making a bed with it and the rest of hers. Grasping one of her hands he pulled her down next to him on the makeshift bed and carried on where he left off.

 

Moaning and gasping as her mate kisses down her neck and chest Kagome laid back to let him at her breasts, while her hands stole under his inner robe and brushed along his skin. Finding a nipple she rubbed and tweaked it with her fingers, making his gasp and growl as he continued to suckle at her own. Grasping his head by his hair she pulled him up to give him another kiss then pushed him away and sat up.

 

Knowing what was coming Inuyasha obediently sat back and watched his mate pull the rest of his clothes off. Before he could pounce on her again he groaned loudly and let his head fall back, his eyes squeezing shut in pleasure that Kagome's mouth on his cock was bringing. Panting for breath the flushed hanyou threaded one hand through her hair as she brought him closer to the brink, and with a growling cry he came.

Coming too with her kiss Inuyasha growled again before finally pouncing on her. Pushing his giggling mate onto her back he went straight for the kill, throwing her legs over his shoulders as his mouth descended onto her core. When his tongue dived into her Kagome cried out and arched her back, her hands latching onto his head as his mouth wrought havoc on her senses. Pulling his face closer to her dripping pussy as she climbed the ladder to her release she finally came with fireworks exploding behind her eyes.

Satisfied that everything was taken care of Inuyasha pulled Kagome closer before falling into sleep himself.

Sensing her sister and brother-in-laws auras spike Hoshiko smiled to herself and went back to the book she was reading.

 

Good thing they made up.

 

“What is that your reading Hoshiko?”

 

Looking up at Rin who was laid next to Shippo in Kagome's sleeping bag Hoshiko smiled as she reached out a hand and brushed the girls bangs out of her sleepy face. “Would you like me to read you a bedtime story Rin?”

 

Smiling the child nodded then snuggled deeper into her bedding, the fox kit behind her peeking his head over her shoulder so he could see.

 

Smiling warmly at the cute little scene Hoshiko put her book away and quickly thought up a short story for them. When she had one in mind she got comfortable on her own bedding before starting her tale.

 

“Not long ago, a large dragon started raiding a nearby kingdom, taking away the Kings treasures and hiding them in his cave. The furious King commanded his knights and fieriest warriors to go and find the dragon and slay him and bring back his possessions. One by one the Kings men went in search of the dragon, but one by one the dragon sent them back, beaten and bloody. Then one day a farmers son heard of the Kings plight and told him he would take care of the dragon.

 

The King laughed and kicked the boy out of his Kingdom, saying that if he did such a thing then he would let the boy keep his stolen treasures. Taking his word for granted the farmers boy set off, with an old wooden shield and rusty sword as his weapons. When he came upon the dragon and the dragon saw the young boy, the puzzled dragon asked the boy why'd he come.

 

`The King has promised me all his treasures if I slay you'. The boy replied. The dragon just laughed before grasping the boy and showing him the Kings treasures. `Why would you want this which is tainted by the blood of the innocent'. He asked. For you see, the King was not all he made himself out to be. To gain his throne the King had lied and killed many people, and stole their valued possessions from them.

 

`That is why I plundered his Kingdom. I made a promise to a small child that the King had took all from her and her family'. Seeing the dragon spoke the truth he vowed to help him and bring the King to his knees. Many nights later the dragon and farmers boy set the Kings home ablaze. The King being too stubborn stayed in his castle and perished with it. But out of the ashes the farmers son rised and built a new Kingdom, and returned the treasures to the people.

 

The dragon still now protects the farm boys Kingdom and the lands and people. And if anyone does a bad deed then they say the dragon comes and takes something from that person, until they can repent.”

 

Focusing back on the children again Hoshiko had to smile when she noticed that they were both fast asleep, and that Shippo's head was resting on Rin's shoulder. Chuckling in amusement under her breath she sat up and moved the kit gentle aside, before pulling the blanket over them and tucking them in. Satisfied they were ok Hoshiko looked about the camp and noted that Sango and Miroku were looking at her with warmth shining in their eyes, before they each bid her goodnight and laid down on their own bedding.

 

“Goodnight you guys.” Hoshiko whispered as her eyes fell onto Sesshoumaru's form as he lent against the base of a tree. Knowing he wasn't really sleeping she quickly looked away and settled herself down, and letting out a few tired yawns she quickly found herself asleep.

Opening his eyes once he sensed that Hoshiko's breathing had evened out Sesshoumaru gazed longingly after her over the campfire she slept near with his ward and the kit. He himself had nearly succumbed to sleep as he listened to her sweet voice tell her tale to the children. Letting a smile grace his face he checked around camp once more before he too settled himself in.

 

Goodnight Hoshiko.

Somewhere not far away Naraku was stood amongst the plains of an old battlefield.

 

“Is this the place?” He asked the demon behind him, who hid himself in the shadows of the trees.

 

“Yes, this is where most of my most powerful comrades fell.”

 

Looking at the ground at his feet Naraku quickly ordered some of his lower level demons to unearth the bones he needed. When they were done the dark hanyou looked over the twelve skeletal remains before him and looking at the near complete Shikon jewel he chipped off twelve pieces, before flicking a piece into each body.

 

“Arise, arise from your graves and rejoin your brother in arms, Mikal, to seek vengeance on the last remaining warrior of the moon, Hoshiko!”

 

With a pulse of purple light the shards reacted and fused with the remains, causing organs and tissue to rebuild until twelve human looking demon warriors stood before him. Looking at the hanyou that had resurrected them with black eyes shining with malice their gazes each locked onto Mikal as he stepped forward from his hiding place. Recognising their leader and prince they each dropped to one knee with a hand outstretched to him.

 

Rejoicing silently that his fellow brethren were alive once more Mikal held his arms out to them. “Come my brothers, we have one last battle to fight, and I'm sure you all have a bloodlust that can only be quenched by the blood of Hoshiko, our sworn enemy.”

 

“Do not forget the rest of the group that travels with her Mikal.” Naraku informed as his body slowly hovered into the air. Pointing a finger at the naked demons the dark hanyou in the blink of an eye had them clothed and armed. “I will be watching you closely Mikal, make sure you do not disappoint me.” In a swirl of his own dark miasma Naraku vanished, levelling the demons alone on the battled field.

 

Looking again at his brothers Mikal smirked evilly as they surrounded him. And with a cackling laugh he wrapped the darkness around them.
