Chapter One
Inuyasha groaned aloud as the pounding on his door wouldn't cease.
“Open up, Inuyasha! I know you're in there!” Sango shouted from the opposite side of his apartment door.
`Damn, it's too damn early to wake up' Inuyasha thought wearily, totally unaware of the time of day it actually was. He struggled to get out of bed and steadied himself as he slowly but surely made his way to the door to answer the obnoxious person who would dare wake him up at this ungodly hour.
“What do you want?!” Inuyasha barked as he forcefully swung open his apartment door. “Do you know what time it is?! No one should be awake this early on a Sunday!”
“I know what time it is…but do you?” Sango replied, as she gestured to the clock that was hanging on his living room wall.
“Oh…” Upon looking at the clock, Inuyasha realized he had overslept, as it was currently 2:00 PM in the afternoon.
“I guess I'll go shower now. I won't take long.”
Smiling sheepishly, Inuyasha went to his bathroom to take a quick shower.
Staring at his retreating form, various impure thoughts about the silver-haired male ran across her mind. When Inuyasha had answered the door none-too-happily, he was clothed in nothing but a pair of red, silk boxers. It took all the mental self-restraint she could muster up to stop herself before she forced herself upon him.
Standing at six feet even, Inuyasha embodied every masculine trait a female could desire. He was noticeably muscular, yet not too muscular. His skin was flawlessly smooth, and Sango wanted nothing more than to run her hands all over his chest and his rock-hard abs, as did any female. However, the most striking features about Inuyasha were undoubtedly his hair and his eyes. Waist-length silver tresses framed his masculine figure, and make no mistake about it; Inuyasha's hair was silky smooth to the touch. And his eyes…no man should be allowed to possess such stunning amber eyes. Any woman who so much as caught a glimpse of his eyes would instantly be mesmerized by their intensity alone.
`Damn him for being so attractive,' Sango thought dejectedly. `Why did we break up again? Oh right, we couldn't stop fucking each other. Stupid hormones.'
The sound Inuyasha's bathroom door opening interrupted Sango's train of thought before it got out of hand. However, seeing him with only a towel wrapped around his waist did little to ease her apparent state of discomfort. Inuyasha, oblivious to the effect he was having on her, went to his bedroom and quickly dressed. When he emerged once more, Sango barely suppressed her moan.
Inuyasha donned a pair of baggy black jeans and a red T-shirt that hugged him in all the right places, putting emphasis on his masculine features and made him look oh-so-delectable.
“Ready to go?” Inuyasha asked.
“Yeah…” Sango replied.
***********
Today was the last day before the start of their college experience. Sango wanted to make the best of it before they were swamped with work and barely had time to sleep, let alone enjoy life. So they had decided to go clubbing. Inuyasha had been opposed to the idea at first, hating the obscenely loud music and the annoying drunk chicks who were always trying to hook up with him. After Sango had pleaded and begged him to go, Inuyasha had finally relented.
So here he was, sitting at the table located in the darkest corner of the club, lost in his thoughts while Sango was on the dance floor, swaying herself to the music. A few women came onto Inuyasha, but he paid them no mind. He had long since given up on women after his first two relationships. He often reflected back on them, trying to evaluate and reevaluate what went wrong. No matter how long and hard he thought about it, he never found an answer. Maybe there was no answer, or maybe he hadn't done anything wrong. Regardless of the reason, his first two relationships hadn't worked out so well. The more he pondered about them, the more he gave up on women. Perhaps it was just his luck.
Inuyasha spared a few glances around the club, glad to see at least some people were having fun.
That was when he saw her.
Her graceful movements were what captivated him at first. Her eyes were closed as she moved in sync with the music. Upon closer scrutiny, Inuyasha realized she was by far the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. Her midnight tresses went a little past her shoulders, and he suddenly felt an urge to feel its silkiness. Her figure drove Inuyasha to the brink of insanity. She was about five feet, six inches, with a body that drove any man wild with desire. She had a slim figure, yet not too skinny, and the little black dress she wore accentuated the curves of her body. Her pert breasts were not too big, but just the right size to fit her figure, and the sight of her ass induced a moan from Inuyasha. In one word, this woman was perfection.
`What am I thinking?' Inuyasha thought to himself. `She's just another woman.'
Despite his resolve, Inuyasha never relinquished his gaze on the goddess that had hypnotized him so. Her eyes were still closed as she continued to move to the beat of the music. When the song finally came to end, she opened her eyes to stare into his own, and his heart skipped a beat. Her chocolate brown eyes were so enthralling that he couldn't shift his gaze elsewhere. He just sat there looking at her, oblivious to his surroundings, or maybe he just didn't care because the only thing that mattered to him at this very second was this woman.
His line of vision was suddenly obstructed by a hand waving up and down his face, bringing him back to reality and causing an abrupt end to his reverie.
“Inuyasha, what's wrong with you?” Sango yelled.
“What?” Inuyasha asked, now thoroughly confused at the situation.
“You acted like you were in some sort of trance.”
“Oh.”
“I was just going to ask you if you wanted to dance.”
“You know I don't dance.”
“Whatever, your loss.”
Sango proceeded back towards the dance floor, leaving Inuyasha behind to bring himself together. His eyes were searching for the brown-eyed goddess that he'd just seen mere seconds ago, but he was unable to spot her in the hordes of people. A melancholy expression settled itself on his face when he realized he might never see this woman again.
`Damn it, why am I acting this way?' Inuyasha thought, hating himself for being so emotionally weak. `No woman has ever affected me like this before; I don't know why she should be any different.'
With that in mind, Inuyasha made his way over to the bar.
He needed a drink.
