&n bsp;        Through The Eyes Of Lovers

&n bsp;  She was falling. Falling into the abyss, yet she had no fears. Colors whooshing around her making magnificent designs. And then, suddenly she was standing, surrounded by four walls and the sun beating down on her head.

“C’mon Kagome! We can’t wait forever!” a familiar voice called down to her. She had just finished the first part of her long and endless journey, and this would be the easiest part. The only easy part. “Well! If you aren’t gonna come out by yourself, I’ll just have to get you out myself!” the voice once again called to her. As she watched a blur of silver and red beautifully swirling together, and as the figure finally came into clear view, and she was staring into the most mesmerizing amber eyes she had ever seen. She had seen these eyes before many times, and loved to stare into them deeply. “What are you staring at? C’mon wench! Let’s go.” the man said as he picked her up and brought her out of the well. For some odd reason, he didn’t put her down. Their eyes narrowed onto each others. As their gaze became more intense, their faces were growing closer and closer. Their lips so close.

; “Hey Kagome!” a young boy’s voice came squeaking into their hearing range. And at this, the man holding her dropped her, and the young child jumped into her arms.

“Hey Shippo!” she said. She was a little sore on her back side from being dropped. But she knew how embarrassed the young man behind her was, so she ignored the fact.

“I’m soo glad to see you Kagome!” the fox boy had said. “InuYasha! Why did you drop Kagome like that?” he then said to the young man.

& nbsp;“Feh!” was all he said in reply.

; “C’mon Kagome! We need to get back to the village. Kaede and Sango need to talk to you.” the boy said and went running off.

& nbsp;“C’mon InuYasha.” said Kagome. As she got up, she turned around and gave him a hug and grabbed his hand for him to follow her.

& nbsp;At this he was surprised. He was ready to hear the ‘sit’ command, but none. And with that he just went with her. After a few feet, he grabbed her and put her on his back and took her back to the village faster than what they could walk. She loved when he did that. Being close to him, she LOVED being close to him. She knew what she wanted, and what she felt she needed. She wished moments like this would never end.

& nbsp; When she and her hanyou friend had landed in the village, she still had her tight, but loving grip on him. She didn’t want to let him go.

&n bsp;“Kagome! You can get off of me now. We’re here.” the young hanyou man said, yet secretly, he wanted her to stay. He never wanted to have her leave him. That was his worse fear, that after the Shikon no Tama was recovered, that she may never come back. That the woman that he LOVED may never be with him in every sense of that statement. He couldn’t live if that were the case. The youkai in him would be angry, the human would be completely distraught, and the hanyou would die, though it completely expected it. He felt that if he were to share these feeling, she may leave him, or think that everyone would leave him, or think that everyone would leave him. That he would be all alone again. He vowed that if that were to EVER happen, he would kill himself. Hell would be better than a lonely life of a hanyou. Without these humans, the demon slayer, the monk, and the miko, he would be dead. NO! These weren’t just humans! They were HIS family! Something he never had. Sure, he had a mother, but she died. He never had a true family. Of course, their was Sesshomoru, but what kind of family was he?!?! they hated each other and tried to kill eachother every chance they could get! But these humans, they cared for HIM. But he couldn’t understand how this could be! He was a misfit, a half breed! Hated by both youkais and humans. But now he had a friends that were human and youkai! It was beyond his comprehension, but he loved the fact that it was happening, though he would never admit to it.

&n bsp;As they entered the hut, Kaede had a worried look on her face.

&ldquo ;Kaede! What’s wrong?” the young miko asked the older one with concern.

&nb sp; “Eyi child. My sister Kikyo has joined with Naraku. She visited me last night. She said that ye are the only one who can stop them” Kaede said.

&ldquo ;But why would Kikyo join with Naraku?” asked Kagome “I mean, I know she hates me, being her reincarnation, but to join with Naraku, AND then warn you about it? It doesn’t make sense!” she just couldn’t understand the situation. Then a thought came to mind. “Maybe she’s being forced to do it, ya know, join him. Maybe he’s going to draw her into his body for her miko powers.”

&nb sp;  “I thought she was stronger that that?” InuYasha replied as more with a question.

&n bsp;“Eye InuYasha, ye is right, but she no longer has her entire soul. Kagome, ye have the most and most powerful part. Also, Kikyo’s soul collectors are not harvesting the souls of miko’s, therefore, what she is filling that void with does not give her the powers and strengths that ye have Kagome. Though ye’s powers still aren’t as strong as my sister’s before she died, they are as strong and getting stronger, to the point that I believe ye’s powers are greater than her’s are as of now.”

Kagome listened on in amazement. She had been coming from Modern Japan to the Feudal Era for the last three years, and her powers had already increased enough to surpass Kikyo’s. Or, at least the dead Kikyo’s. And to her, that was amazing! Kikyo had spent her entire life training to be a miko. She became the second greatest miko ever, of course, Medoriku being the greatest, having formed the Shikon no Tama from her own bdy while taking on a numerous amount of powerful youkais. And to Kagome, if she was surpassing Kikyo’s dead miko powers, she had hope to be able to surpass her living ones also, and to become an even greater miko than Kikyo was.

& nbsp;InuYasha stared at Kagome. ‘Her powers have surpassed Kikyo’s?’ he couldn’t believe it. Kikyo had been the strongest human he had ever met in life and in death, and now Kagome was about to take that title. Not that he mind, he no longer loved Kikyo, but his heart was given to Kagome now, even if she didn’t know it, she’d had it for a while. But she deserved better. A mere hanyou deserves nothing like her for a mate. WAIT! Did he just say MATE! He shouldn’t have thought that! Why she he get his hopes up? Just so that they could be crushed? He’d protect her to the death, but he shouldn’t have thought that. Yeah, like that would ever happen.

&nbs p; “Feh!” was all he said aloud.

&ldqu o;What’s that supposed to mean?” Kagome asked a little aggravated.

“It means that I’ll believe it when I see it.” he replied.

; “InuYasha! SIT BOY!” she replied in a loud angry voice.
