in the world, soo here's the next chapter!)

The kitsune woke up on a tree branch, realizing that he was alone. He was scared at first and
cried out "Mama!" she didn't answer. He realized that he was in the Goshinboku tree, where he
had been earlier, yet now he was actually in the tree instead of in his `mother's' arms. He slowly
calmed down when he saw the glow from the well.
She got out of the well and headed for her house. `One last bath before our battle.' she thought as
she headed for the door. She heard a whooshing sound from behind her. Then something picked
her up and jumped into her bedroom window.
InuYasha had been following her. She was headed for her house. He was going to go with her,
whether or not she knew it or liked it. She was HIS responsibility. As she walked, it looked as
though she wasn't paying attention to her feet and was going to trip over one of Sota's toys, so he
ran up to her, picked her up, and jumped into her bedroom window. It was quicker than the door.
"InuYasha, why did you follow me?" she asked him. Not mad, just curiously. She knew, but she
wanted to hear him say it. Though she knew nine times out of ten he wouldn't.
"What!?!? I, uh,... You're under MY protection!!!! You always seem to be getting into trouble, I
need to follow you around so you don't get killed DAMMIT!" he replied.
"No need to get feisty InuYasha! It was a simple question! Anyways, you can just stay in here,
I'm going to take a long bath, pack, and get one last good night's sleep before our battle." she
replied walking out of her room.
He settled on her bed. Why did he have to be like that! Why couldn't he have just said it! `I'm
following you because I care about you. I don't want to be away from you even one second, since
this will be our final battle. I'm scared that I'll never see you again after the Shikon no Tama is
complete! I'd die without you!' He was just too proud. It needed to stop.
Kagome had really hoped that he would have said it. That he loved her and that that was the
reason he followed her. He didn't, but she could live with that. She just wished to hear it before
the battle. Just incase she wouldn't be able to return. She NEEDED to know. She sunk down
lower into the water. It felt soo good. She needed to relax. Many thoughts plagued her mind, but
none more abundant than of her and InuYasha. She needed him just as much as he needed her.
She lost track of time and when she looked at the clock she saw that she had been in there for
over an hour! She got out and put on some cozy pajamas, and headed for her room.
InuYasha was lying on her bed, half asleep. She didn't want to wake him, so she figured that she
would go pack. She grabbed a bunch of first aid kit stuff, such as band aids, tape, gauze and the
like, and also some pocky and ramen, enough to feed an army! This was precaution just incase
she wouldn't return. That thought stuck in her head and feared that that would be the case. After
that, she preceded to her room.
When she walked in, it looked to her that he had fallen asleep, so she decided to grab a blanket
and sleep on the couch.
"Where the hell do you think you're going wench?" InuYasha asked.
"Oh, I thought you were asleep so I was going to go sleep on the couch."
"Feh! No way! You're sleeping in your bed!" he said getting up.
She got into her bed and watched him sit on the floor as usual to watch her sleep.
"InuYasha?" she asked a little later.
"What?" he asked in an annoyed tone.
"Well,... I'm worried and scared about the battle." she shakily stated.
"Well you shouldn't be. You won't be alone. I won't let ANYTHING hurt you, and neither will
the others!" he said confidently.
"Even so,... can you do me a favor InuYasha?"
"Feh! What is it?"
"Will you,... come here,... and stay in my bed with me?"
He looked at her in shock. She had been around Miroku too long.
"Nothing perverted InuYasha! Just sleep here next to me, holding me, kind of like we were back
under the Goshenboku tree."
He got up and laid next to her in the bed. She nuzzled into him. It felt so right to both of them.
He wrapped his arms around her and they both fell asleep. They were filled with happy dreams
that whole night, of what their futures together may hold.
