Disclaimer: No, I don't own Inuyasha but I do have a rather attractive key chain and a really pretty poster of Sesshoumaru my Korean friend bought me.
`Call Backs'
“Congratulations everyone, you've made it through the first round.” Houjo said standing on the stage. “I've called back exactly double the cast because this time I'd like to physically see people on their parts. Plus I'd like to see if we could possibly do some singing but since not that many people know it, I'm not asking for much.
"Ok, Koga, I want to you read the part of Sir Danver, Emma's father. In this scene Emma and her father are having an argument about Jekyll. You see, Emma is in love with her fiancé and supports and understands him and his work, his slight obsession. Her father on the other hand thinks that Jekyll is becoming too focused on his work and becoming dangerous and ruin his marriage to Emma." He looks around at everyone's blank looks. "Sorry I really enjoy this musical. I'll just let them read it. Begin."
Kouga stepped forward grabbing Kagome's hands, "Emma, I wish you would heed my words. I do not hate him but you don't you wonder about his intentions."
Kagome pulled away from him looking sad, "Father, you know Henry will not just walk away, the only way he knows is straight ahead."
"I know, my daughter but I worry. There has been rumors and talk; the board does not want him to continue his experiments. They say he's locked himself away in his own world, pursuing this insanity."
"It is his work." She yelled, whirling on him. She walked toward him and touched his face tenderly, "Father, I still love you more you will ever know but if we want our love to grow."
"I know in time . . ."
"We mustn't be afraid of letting go." She said softly, smiling reassuringly.
"And scene. Very nice job." Interrupted Houjo. They took a small bow and left the stage. Houjo started talking about the next scene with somebody that wasn't her. She wasn't listening instead she was watching Kagome. She was talking to Koga and looking uncomfortable about it.
"Um. That's really nice of you but I don't even know you."
''But, Kagome, I know these things, I can tell. We are meant to be together." He said taking her hand.
"But you never saw me till tonight." Her voice came out exasperated and she rolled her eyes. "It's really sweet and everything but I don't think so."
"Come on, Kagome, you know you want to."
Kagura didn't want to do it, she didn't even like this girl but she just couldn't stop herself. "Miroku, you want to go over and take care of that?"
"What?" He said eyes still caught on the stage. Currently occupying the stage was some floozy in a short skirt.

She bopped him on the head. "That!" She indicated pointing. He watched their exchange for a moment Kagura smiled when she saw his eye twitch. He'd been hanging out with her too much lately. He got up to interrupt.
"I'm sorry . . . what was your name? Koga, that's right. Listen, Koga," Miroku said putting his arm around him, "That girl you're screwing with. That's my best friend's girlfriend."
"Yea, so I'm not afraid of anyone."
Miroku shook his head like he was talking to a child, "You see my friend has a close knit family. An Italian close knit family and as you would probably know they look out for each other." He paused looking at him closely, "You catch my drift?"
Koga shrugged in defeat. "Yea, I catch your drift." He started to walk away but the turned back, "Bye Kagome, don't think you'll get away from me. You'll see I'm right. You're meant to be my woman." With that he left.
Miroku smiled at Kagome, "Sorry about lying there but it didn't seem like you were interested.
A smile lit up her face, "No, it's quite all right. Thank you."
"I'm Miroku." He suggested reaching out his hand to her. Sometimes Miroku could be a pig but not when it was serious. He loved girls but never had she seen him actually push himself on girl. Unless you count his supposed accidental caresses. She forgot that he could be a man when he had to be. The conversation faded from Kagura's ears as she turned her attention back to the stage.
Her jaw almost dropped. Standing there reading lines with another woman Kagura assumed was trying for the part of Emma was the most beautiful man she had ever seen. She blinked a few times, he reminded her of Inuyasha but a lot different. He had white hair and amber eyes like Inuyasha but his demeanor was completely different. He seemed so cold but his acting was still good. She watched him move around the stage with the girl, his movements gliding as if on ice. 'I wonder if Inuyasha has a brother?' She shook her head, 'No they checked his birth records, as far as he knew his mom had no other children besides him before she died.'
"Kagura let's get you up here." Houjo announced bringing her out of her thoughts. The girl working the beautiful man was exiting the stage and he was still on there looking like this was completely easy. She got up and walked toward the stage telling herself not to look him straight in the eye. "Start reading, Kagura on page 26 for Lucy. Sesshoumaru, this time I want Hyde."
Kagura gave a look of fear, "I know you, don't I?" She demanded making her voice shake.
”After tonight, my little love, you will never forget me." He said his voice taking a lower timbre than she had heard before, " I am destined to be your guardian Angel, your guide to salvation in this world of madness."
She shivered when his hand landed on her shoulder. “So what's yer name then, sweet'eart?” She said, taking on cockney English accent and setting her hands on her hips. He took the cue and followed the actions that she spoke of.
" Hyde... Edward Hyde. A toast to the night! A toast to romance." He said seductively speaking over her shoulder almost as if into her ear. "To those unafraid of taking a chance!"
"I must admit that I like yer approach." She turned to him pulling away from his spell. It's one that I've not seen before." She looked away again.

Anger passed over his passive features, “Why should you settle for less, dear, when there's more!" He pulled her flush against his body, his amber eyes screaming passion. “I am the man fate has decreed, destined to be all that you need! I can give you everything you desire. You can give me all I need!
“Sounds like a nice bit of business. Yes, indeed.”
Still holding her he whispered, “I am the man, mark my words well, with whom you'll share Heaven or hell!”
She looked down not meeting his eyes. "'Eaven I fancy, 'as no place for me! And I can find hell on my own!" She said softly.
He tightened his grip and Kagura could feel the muscles in his arms tense. He smiled softly leaning almost nose-to-nose with her. " Like it or not, you will never be alone! After tonight, you will never be alone!” He never stopped staring at her. All the fire in his looks yet his face seemed so passive. If he only knew what he was doing to her.

“Excellent.” Houjo interrupted, “On to Koga and Ayame.”
Sesshoumaru stared at her for a moment and then just let her go almost making Kagura fall. “You could use some acting lessons.” He remarked to her coolly straightening his shirt.
Her mouth gaped for a minute, `Did he just say? He did.' “And you could use a breath mint so I guess we're even.”
He eyed her for a second, “I'll get a breath mint when you sign up for acting lessons.
Her eye twitched. She was going for a record this week. “Idiot.” She mumbled and walked away.
She sat down and Miroku was still talking to Kagome. `What an arrogant self absorbed egotistic pompous jerk.' She shot a glare at Miroku, when she noticed him looking at her.
She saw him grin and excuse himself from their conversation, “What's got your panties in a bunch?” He asked as he sat down next to her again.
She gave him a look as if to say, `If you ever mention my panties again, I'll kill you'
He shot his hands up in defense. “All right, Kagura, what is bothering you?”
She stared at him for a second. “You are.” With that she rose and walked away. Laughter followed her. Miroku knew that she really wasn't mad at him but she was not about to talk about what was bothering her.
She passed Kagome as she was walking toward the bathroom; Kagome smiled at her and started walking with her. “Hi, my name is Kagome.”
“Kagura.” She simply answered.
“Umm . . . so do you think you'll make the play?”
Kagura looked at her for a second. She could act the bitch like usual or play nice. Kagura considered carefully. Kagome sung well, really well. Meaning she was probably going to be in the play so she better play nice. “I like to think so.”
Kagome grinned, “I saw the other girl trying out as Lucy. She was good but I thought you fit the part a lot better and it seemed like you worked better with Sesshoumaru.”
“Thanks, I hope so.” She paused; she was going to do it. She was going to say something nice. Something about that girl made you just want to be happy. It made Kagura want to throw up. “Yea, you did a pretty good job. I wouldn't be surprised if you made the part of Emma.”
“Thanks.” She looked at her watch. “Oh, geez, my rides going to be here any minute. I'll see you later.”
“Bye.”
“It was nice meeting you.” She called back as she jogged to the door.
“Nice? Meeting you was nice?” Miroku said behind her.
“Shut up.” She rolled her eyes. “Ready to go?”
“Almost. He's going to announce the parts tonight.” He grinned, “So why were you being nice? I've only seen you interact with one female and that was only on a tolerant level.”
“Hey, I'm nice to Sango.” She shrugged, “I don't know. She just makes you smile.
She received a look from Miroku as if he knew her dirty little secret. “Or throw up, of course.” She added on quickly.
“Sure. Whatever you say.”
Kagura pulled up into Inuyasha's driveway. She had just dropped Miroku off and bought her and Yasha ice cream. Opening the door for herself, she stepped in yelling her arrival. "In here, honey." Yasha's mom, Aiko, yelled out to her.
Following the noise she saw Yasha holding a shelf up and Aiko standing back with a look of deep concentration. "A little to the left. Wait. Now to the right. Lower it just a bit, no too much."
A growl sounded from Yasha making his mom laugh. "I'm sorry, honey, it's perfect." She took a pencil and made a mark on the wall near his head. "There I can do the rest myself. Go enjoy your ice cream." She eyed it for a minute. "There better be some left for me."
Yasha rolled his eyes, "Sure, whatever."
"Yasha." She answered sternly.
"Yes, mom, of course."

Inuyasha grabbed two bowls and made his way to his room with Kagura following behind. “So how did it go?”
“Oh you know, same old. Same old.” She said nonchalantly.
“Yea but how'd you do?” He said prying.
“I felt pretty confident.”
“Listen, wench, tell me what part you got or I'm gonna grab the ice cream and run.” He said, his hand inching toward the ice cream. “I will and I will run fast.”
Kagura laughed and grabbed her bowl. “Oh chill out. I got the part of Lucy and Miroku got Utterson.”
“Congratulations, wench. Sleeping with the director does get you the part you want.”
Her mouth gaped open, “I cannot believe you just said that.”
“I'm just kidding. I know you wouldn't do that.” He said calmly.
“That's right.” She said nodding with a look saying that's a matter of fact.
“So how much did you pay him?”
“You are a jerk, you know that?”
He nodded, “Yea I know. People keep telling me that but I'm not so sure it's true.” He took a bite of his ice cream. “I saw Kikyo today.” He said looking down.
Kagura choked, “What? Where?” She set down her ice cream, “I'll kick her ass.”
“Calm down, Kagura. I went to the store earlier and she was there. I think she was visiting a cousin of hers.”
Her voice was quiet, “Did you talk to her?”
Inuyasha stared at her as if debating his answer, “For just a second. It was kind of nice talking to her again.”
“Don't give me that bull shit.” Kagura said, glaring at him. “Did you happen to forget the other guy she had sex with? Naraku? I bet it was really nice talking to someone who decided to sleep with everyone but you.”
“She never slept with anyone but Naraku, ok.”
“So that makes it all right then?”
“No, Kagura, it doesn't. Dammit, stop getting so defensive. She cheated on me not you.” He took bite of his forgotten ice cream. “She did suggest we go to dinner and catch up but I told her I wasn't sure if I wanted to do that.”
Kagura got up and sat next to him, touching his face softly, “Yasha, you've always been to weak with women.” She closed her eyes and sighed, “If you really want to see her again. I promise not to try to stop you even though I think its bull. I'm not your mother or your girlfriend.”
“I'm not sure yet.” He mumbled.
She sat back watching him, eating her ice cream silently. She was defensive and she knew it. She couldn't help it. Kikyo had hurt her best friend, the one person she loved and she was lucky she was still in one piece.
Aiko came in and sat in Yasha's chair across from them. “So where's my ice cream?”
Yasha moved just slightly to hide the melting gallon behind him. He held up his hands and shrugged. “We ate it all.”
Kagura watched as little Aiko leaped up and tackled Yasha bringing the ice cream out of hiding. He yelled trying to keep it from her but Kagura jumped up to grab it to keep it out of her reach. Kagura towered over her so she couldn't reach it when Kagura held it above her head. Aiko reached out and poked Kagura on the sides finding her one ticklish spot making Kagura drop the ice cream. Catching it, Aiko took off running out his room into the kitchen.
Kagura rubbed her sides gasping for air as she watched Inuyasha chase his mother out of his room yelling after her. “Mom, that was low. I can't believe you'd play that dirty.”
Kagura giggled and shook her head, “This family is insane.”
