A/N: 1) I'm not apt to writing right now. But right now, I'm depressed, and when I'm depressed I take it out on my writing.

Recap:

"I can't believe you all forgot," Sesshoumaru said.

"What does the letter say?" Miroku asked.

"This is what it says," Hakkaku said.

Dear Friends, I am sorry that I am not the Kagome you wanted, or expected. Please forgive me, because it is my destiny to stay here. Just remember, I am always watching. Always watching, making sure that the people I love aren't hurt. I love you all,

Kagome Higurashi

Chapter 6: Unwanted Memories

Kagome was sitting on a cloud watching Kaede's village. She was smiling at the children's pranks on the older villagers. She sighed and looked away from them. She looked around her, the clouds, the sun … she shuck her head slightly and closed her eyes. It had been two years since she had seen her 'friends' up close. She kept her promise to them, she was always watching them. She made sure that they didn't get hurt. The only person that Kagome saw was Sesshoumaru. They met occasionally, sometimes in his palace, or sometimes just out of plain coincidence. She remembered the last time they met.

=Flashback=

Kagome was walking through the forest, having finished watching Kouga's pack. She had wiped the tears away from her face, but that was a fruitless effort because they still kept falling. She sighed and sat on a boulder and watched two birds flying around happily. 'When will I find that kind of happiness?' Kagome thought to herself.

"We have to stop meeting each other like this Kagome," Sesshoumaru said from behind the weeping youkai. Kagome jumped and turned around to find a smirking Sesshoumaru. She frowned at him, then smiled.

"You scared me Sesshoumaru," Kagome said.

"Indeed," Sesshoumaru said who was now in front of the depressed girl.

"How are things with InuTaisho?" Kagome asked.

"He's just fine. Though he is driving his mother crazy," Sesshoumaru said with a slight chuckle remembering Rin running through the citadel chasing InuTaisho, their son.

"I can only imagine. From the things you told me about him," Kagome said smiling.

"Indeed. You are coming down from those dreadful clouds of yours soon, are you not?" Sesshoumaru asked.

"Not so soon," Kagome replied with a sigh.

"May I inquire why?" Sesshoumaru asked slightly offended.

"They don't need me. When it is time, I shall return," Kagome responded.

"You can stop being a stubborn youkai," Sesshoumaru said slightly hotly. Kagome laughed.

"I'm sorry Sesshou-chan, but I'm just not ready yet," Kagome answered slightly miffed. Sesshoumaru nodded his head understanding the young youkai's situation.

"When you are ready then," Sesshoumaru whispered. Kagome smiled, and in return he slightly smiled and leapt into the sky back to his home in the Western Lands.

"I don't think I'll ever be ready Sesshoumaru. So please forgive me if I never come back," Kagome whispered.

=End Flashback=

Kagome dozed off after remembering her encounter with Sesshoumaru the other day. She was still hurt by the things that her 'friends' had said about her. But no matter, she will still be watching. Kagome was tossing and turning on her cloud, it seemed like she was having a sort of, restless sleep.

=Kagome's Dream=

"Okaa-san! Come and catch me!" Screamed a ten year old Shippou. Kagome and Shippou, were playing 'tag' a game that came from Kagome's time.

"Alright Shippou, but don't use your youkai speed!" Kagome hollered.

"You wish okaa-san!" Shippou said happily as he ran off, Kagome behind him trying to catch up to the kitsune.

"Damned youkai speed," Kagome muttered under her breath.

"Hey Kagome! Watch your language will ya?" Inuyasha yelled from his place on the Goshinkboku tree.

"Look who's talking!" Kagome screamed still trying to catch up to the kitsune. The wind around the inu-tachi started to blow rapidly. And in an instant, there stood Kouga with a smirk on his face.

"Hello Kagome," Kouga said cheerily, happy to see his woman.

"Hey Kouga-kun," Kagome said stopping in front of the ookami youkai slightly out of breath.

"Dog turd hasn't been working you too hard has he?" Kouga asked.

"Shut up you mangy wolf!" Inuyasha growled instantly coming between Kagome and the Wolf Prince.

"Inuyasha! Please, I'm fine with Kouga," Kagome said annoyed at the inu-hanyou's over protectiveness.

"`Course she's fine with me. I'm her mate, why shouldn't she be?" Kouga said cockily. Inuyasha growled under his breath.

"She's not your mate you piece of shit! Now move before I kill you!" Inuyasha said roughly.

"Inuyasha, watch your language," Kagome said, who was now standing between Kouga and Inuyasha, because she knew that they were going to fight again.

"Feh," Inuyasha muttered.

"Still haven't improved your vocabulary have you mutt?" Kouga taunted.

"Why you little bastard," Inuyasha roared. Kagome winced slightly, along with Kouga.

"Inuyasha! Watch your language!" Kagome said agitated.

"Move wench," Inuyasha whispered. Kagome sighed and moved out of the way. Inuyasha moved towards Kouga when he felt the rosary beads around his neck go warm and felt gravity push him downwards. He looked at Kagome who was smiling.

"No fighting," Kagome huffed and walked away Kouga following her with a smirk on his face.

=End Flashback=

Kagome awoke with a start. 'What was that all about?' Kagome asked herself.

"Why all of a sudden, I'm getting these dreams," Kagome asked herself quietly. Ever since her encounter with Sesshoumaru, she'd been getting all these dreams about her friends. One with Kouga and herself watching the sunset, one with her and Kikyou making peace, one with her and Sango sitting in the hot springs talking, and one where Miroku and herself were scheming to get Inuyasha to bathe.

Kouga looked up at the stars. He felt remorseful for two years, he had gotten what he wanted for 7 years and he just threw her away as if she didn't mean anything to him. Kouga sighed and took in a deep breath.

"Thinking about her again?" Koiichi asked his brother.

"Yeah," Kouga answered.

"I can't believe you forgot about fate youkai's big brother," Koiichi whispered.

"I can't believe it either," Kouga said quietly watching the stars come up one by one.

"I love her Koiichi," Kouga said out of no where.

"Are you sure?" Koiichi responded.

"How could you question my love for her?" Kouga said angry at his brother.

"Don't get mad at me. Because if you really did love her, you wouldn't have sent her away," Koiichi said getting up from the place he sat and walked out of the den. Kouga watched his brother leave and looked up at the now dark sky. 'How could I have been so stupid?' Kouga asked himself. If he really did love Kagome, then he wouldn't have let her leave. He buried his face in his palms, and cried softly.

"Kami, gomen naisai Kagome darling. I didn't mean it, please forgive me," Kouga whispered towards the sky. He looked at his hands and started to remember his memories of Kagome.

=Flashback=

"Hey Kagome," Kouga whispered. Kagome jumped when she heard the sound of Kouga's voice. She turned around and sighed in relief.

"Kouga-kun, you scared me," Kagome said and put her hand to her beating heart.

"I'm sorry koi," Kouga said wrapped his arms around her tinny body. Kagome stiffened and relaxed reluctantly in his embrace.

"Kouga we've been through this before," Kagome said.

"I know," Kouga answered heartbroken.

"I'm sorry," Kagome whispered.

"No, I should be sorry," Kouga answered and was about to get up and leave when he felt her dainty hands secure his arms in place.

"Let's watch the sunset okay?" Kagome asked.

"Okay," Kouga answered. The two sat on the boulder and watched the sunset, and the stars come out. Kouga looked to his side and saw Kagome sleeping in his arms.

"Aisheteru koibito," Kouga whispered and placed a kiss on her forehead and brought her back to camp. He was thankful that the inu-hanyou was asleep. He masked his scent and watched her sleep until the sun rose, and left her to the hands of Inuyasha.

"Take care Kagome," Kouga whispered into the wind.

=End Flashback=

Kouga punched the boulder he was sitting on. The damned memories brought more heartache to him. If only the damned memories could just go away and leave him in peace. He didn't want to remember, because remembering brought heartbreak. And he didn't want heartbreak. 'When will love finally grace my life?' Kouga asked himself.

"Aisheteru Kagome," Kouga said out loud.

<&!%&^_

Kagome looked towards the ground from her perch on the clouds. She thought she heard someone tell her that they love her. She shuck her head thinking she must have been imagining things.

"I'll go back tomorrow, besides it's little Kouga and Kagome's birthday," Kagome said to herself.
