InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Tip-Toeing To Your Heart ❯ Pinky Promise ( Chapter 1 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Author's Prelude:
I couldn't find any stories that were decent tellings about what happens after the Inuyasha anime ends, so I've decided to write one! The final series of it is called Inuyasha: the final act. Go watch it online for free if you haven't seen it. Basically at the end, Sesshomaru leaves Rin to live with Kaede at the village with Kagome and everyone else, so that she can learn what it's like to live with humans. That way when she grows older, she can decide whether she wants to rejoin Sesshomaru on his travels or stay in a human village. During this time, Kaede educates Rin about herbs/normal chores, and Sesshomaru often brings her gifts, like new kimonos. (Aww.)
.
. This fanfic is strictly a love story between Rin and Sesshomaru. The reason I don't like other fics like this is because they always make Rin grow up into some bad ass, defiant girl who knows how to fight demons and all this stuff. It just doesn't seem to fit Rin's character to me.
. So the point is, it's a love story, may contain lemons, and so if you are disturbed by the RinxSess love relationship, don't read this fic. Thanks! :D Hope you enjoy!
*Important Note* All the period marks you see on the left are to space apart the writing. I'm uploading from a mac, and unless I do that, the text sticks together and is an eye sore. Sorry for the dots, guys.

.*Three Years After Naraku Is Defeated* (The final episode of the Inuyasha series; set in Kaede's village.)
.
.
. “Brother!!!” Kagome called out cheerfully, waving to Sesshomaru's flying form, as he passed above in the sky. He turned his head like lightning and snarled at the name, continuing on to Rin's hut.
.
Jakken was being pulled along by Sesshomaru on his fur boa. “What! The nerve of that girl! How dare she speak to Lord Sesshomaru so informally! We must reprimand her for--”
.
“Shut up, Jaken. I'll kill you,” Sesshomaru threatened, his voice icy.
.
.
Kagome pouted and let her hand drop to her side, “He shot me such an angry face.” She turned to Inuyasha behind her, who looked sick enough to die on the spot. “You too, Inuyasha?” she gasped. “That sounded SO wrong,” he said, feeling queasy. “Well, we are married now! That makes him my brother!” Kagome cried. “Feh!” Inuyasha stalked down the path carrying Kagome's herb basket. She rolled her eyes and followed him down towards the village.
.
.
Sesshomaru landed gracefully in front of a small hut, whilst Jakken landed with his face smashed against the ground. “Owww!” he whined, “Must you be so rough my lord?!” Sesshomaru ignored him and entered the hut. Inside were Rin and the old Kaede, they were preparing dinner together. At the sight of her beloved Lord Sesshomaru, Rin's face brightened and she ran forward to him, “Lord Sesshomaru! You've come back!” She hugged his leg with all the love she could muster. “Rin,” he breathed, relieved to finally see her again, safe.
.
He glanced at Kaede who stayed sitting by a pot of food. “Ye returned so soon, Lord Sesshomaru?” she said smiling. He said nothing, he only looked down at Rin calmly.
.
Kaede pulled herself up, slowly. Her old bones ached, and she used her cane to exit the hut. “I'll be back soon Rin-chan. Inuyasha owes me some herbs.” “Hai!” Rin called out, still embracing Sesshomaru's leg as if it were gold.
.
.
. They heard the old woman stomp over Jakken's body outside the hut. He cursed at her angrily, saying something about disrespectful humans. “Aye, forgive me, my weak eyes,” Kaede said, not sounding sorry at all. Sesshomaru's eye had twitched slightly at the mention of his brother. Somehow the name still got to him, after all this time. He waited until Kaede had waddled away a ways, then walked across the small room to sit down.
.
“Lord Sesshomaru!” Rin followed him eagerly. “Rin is so glad to see you again! I've been learning how to cook, and Kaede was teaching me how to cut and clean pork that Lord Inuyasha brought, and I've been learning how to swim from Kagome-sama!” Rin was speaking at one hundred words a minute, all the while wearing a large grin on her face. She plopped herself down beside him, close enough to twiddle her fingers in his fur boa while she rambled. “I was saving some flowers I picked for you, but they died and I haven't picked any new ones since. You would have liked them, they were--”
.
“Rin,” Sesshomaru interrupted her. His visits were often like this, he had to interject, otherwise Rin would speak nonstop. “Stand up,” he instructed. She jumped up without protest, happy to oblige to her lord. She also pulled her side ponytail higher up on her head. He stared at the bottom of her blue kimono; he had just brought it for her less than three months back, and already the hem had risen too high against her calves. “You've grown taller,” he said.
.
.
She nodded happily, then paused and stared at the ground shyly. “But...Rin grew taller, but Sesshomaru-sama still looks as tall as before.” It was true, Rin still, strangely, only measured up to his knee. “Are you growing taller too, Lord Sesshomaru?” She looked uneasy.
.
He leaned forward, then placed his hand on the top of her head measuring her height playfully, but still wearing his stoic mask. “You're taller than you think, Rin.” She became enthusiastic suddenly, and grabbed his hand off her head, and moved it up to the top of her side ponytail. “I'm that tall!” she corrected him. The addition of her ponytail had increased her height by about two inches. Sesshomaru was amused. “Why do you want to be tall, Rin?” he asked smoothly. She blushed, then balled her hands into fists, “I want to be tall, so that I can follow Lord Sesshomaru again! If I grow up fast, then I can be with you again sooner!” She was very passionate in explaining this to him. She panted, caught her breathe and waited for him to respond.
.
.
The fact that she was eager to rejoin him made Sesshomaru at peace, but her enthusiasm also made it harder to refuse her. “There is still much for you to learn here. Do you not wish to stay in this human village?” he asked, pulling his hand down from her head, his golden eyes shining ever so beautifully.
.
Rin looked indecisive, then flustered, “All I know is, I want to be with you Lord Sesshomaru!” She stepped forward and rested her small palms on his bent knee, and looked desperately into his golden eyes with her large, brown, chocolatey ones.
.
Rin's face just didn't look right with a frown, and her pleading eyes were extremely hard to avoid. He sighed then replied, “Soon, Rin. But not now.” She clenched her teeth and crumpled his pant leg with her fingers, feeling sad as ever. He reached into the top of his hakama and pulled out a folded, new pink kimono, and presented it to Rin. “Here, this one should fit you well until I return.” She was successfully distracted from her sadness, and grasped the kimono gratefully, opening it up. She gasped, “Oh Lord Sesshomaru! It's more beautiful than Rin deserves!”
.
It was a rosy pink, with a sakura blossom pattern around the hem, with gold accents and a gold sash. It had a gorgeous sheen to it in the light, and would look nice with Rin's dark hair. It was a size or two bigger than the one she had on, and would be a good replacement for her current kimono.
.
Sesshomaru stood up, “It is good that you are pleased, Rin.” She looked up from her tiny form, and beamed at him. He raised his slender eyebrows slightly, admiring that perfect smile and sweet face. He waited for it whenever he visited. It was Rin's most adoring smile, reserved for him alone.
.
.
He had grown more possessive of Rin, even though they no longer travelled together. His attachment had surprised even him. He had never intended to visit Rin so often when he first decided to leave her at the village, especially since it was a village full of humans....most especially because Inuyasha resided in the same village. But somehow, staying away from Rin too long was an annoyance.
.
.
He patted her on the head gently, then proceeded towards the door with her following behind, clutching her new kimono. It was still warm from being carried against his chest. (Author Note: Oh god...his chest *faints*)
.
“You're leaving already?” Rin asked trailing after him. “I will return again Rin,” he voiced. The sudden smell of her salty tears assaulted his nose. He stopped walking towards the door and paused. He turned around gracefully and knelt in front of her tiny form. She wiped her tears away as fast as they fell. She didn't want to cry, but, her mind started racing with all these thoughts about Sesshomaru leaving and her missing him for so long.
.
.
He waited patiently for her to catch her breathe, then lifted her chin up gently with his clawed finger. He looked into her eyes and she felt like he could hear everything she was thinking. And when she tried to read his eyes? Nothing. Being unreadable was an art to him, she rarely overcame it. “Will you wait for me to return, Rin?” he asked calmly.
.
.
His voice was so soothing and he was always so calm. She held her hands together behind her back and tapped her foot against the ground thinking about what she should say. He still held her chin up and kept gazing at her. She smiled suddenly, “I'll always wait for you my Lord! I always do!” He was pleased. He was about to get back up, but Rin pulled him by his haori back down. “But you have to promise that you'll come back, and you have to keep your promise!” she said quickly. “I do promise, Rin. Any promise that this Sesshomaru makes, is always kept,” he nodded. She pouted with her mouth....he had to seal the deal!
.
.
She held up her soft tiny hand, with her pinky being the only finger sticking up. He waited for her to explain. “Kagome-san says you shake with your pinky and that means you seal the deal on your promise!”
.
.
She lifted Sesshomaru's claw up, and bent his porcelain smooth fingers down, all except his pinky. “Now hook it,” she instructed, lacing her pinky with his carefully, watching his claw. He simply stayed still, watching her, amused again. She stared at their pinkies interlocked for a moment, pleased at the deal now. To him, she was fascinating. She opened his eyes constantly, whatever she did, it was worth his time and attention. Even after all these years, how did a little, human girl captivate him more than any demon throughout his lifetime?
.
His eyes glazed over for one second, Rin saw him brooding. She cupped his perfect, godly face with her two hands, bringing his focus back on her. It was a crazy sight; if anyone else had tried to touch his face he would have absolutely ripped them apart with his acid whip.
.
She leaned her face so close to his, it was starting to look like he only had one golden eye now. “Rin just wants to say that you're the bestest Lord there ever was in the whole wide world....and....you're my Lord too and not to forget me.” She whispered it as though it were the most valuable, secretive, secret in the world. Rin's praise was precious to him, it was the only praise he actually cared about. He breathed out slowly, and chuckled. She smiled wide and hugged his neck, `What a nice laugh my Lord Sesshomaru has!'
.
He let her hold onto him as long as she liked. Then when she released him, he stood up and motioned towards the door. She sighed contently and followed him.
.
.
Outside Kaede was speaking with Inuyasha and Kagome, and Jakken was sitting on a rock, still muttering angrily about something or another. Inuyasha glanced over to Sesshomaru, and the two made eye contact briefly. Sesshomaru's eyes meant to say, `If anything happens to Rin, I'll lay this village to ruins.'
.
.
`Yea yea. Rin hurt, me death. I know! Sheh...bastard,' Inuyasha huffed. “Goodbye Lord Sesshomaru!” Rin called as he began walking away without another word. “Thank you again! Please return soon! I'll be waiting to see you!” Rin waved furiously from the door of the hut. She watched him walk up the hill, his angelic silver hair waving and swishing side to side with each step.
.
.
Jakken bolted up from the rock he was sitting on, “W-WAIT! My Lord! Please wait for me, your humble servant!” He stumbled after Sesshomaru, and was just barely able to jump onto the end of the fur boa as the great demon lord kicked off flying through the sky with the blushing sunset on the horizon.
.
.
Rin sighed happily, her heart beating quickly. `Lord Sesshomaru,' she thought.

Well, that was just an introductory chapter, to kind of lead from the last Inuyasha episode into this fanfic. I'm trying to stay true to the characters, but it's hard! :D
As hard as Sesshomaru's chiseled chest! *drum tap*
.
Ahah.....ah ^__^; ok....lol. Thanks for reading and my writing is a little rusty but, it'll get better I promise!
