Belonging
Ch 3 - The Run of the Demons part duex
******
The hallway Kagome was running down was cluttered with lights and DJ equipment. It was dark and smelled funny. She couldn't see those girls anywhere, she stopped running and listened hoping she could hear something. She tried to quiet her panting and block out her rapidly pumping heart. Then she heard it; it sounded like footsteps and then a door. She began to run in the direction of the sound. She turned to the right towards the light. But she was stopped and knocked down when she ran into something that felt like a brick wall. She landed hard on her ass. She looked up to see a massive bald man who looked like a bouncer.
His deep voice rang thru the silent hallway, "Are you lost missy?" he had a smirk on his face.
Kagome had two choices: 1 Pull out her gun and demand to get by or 2 Play innocent. Since Kagome liked to be somewhat subtle when she was hiding a gun, she chose the latter. She got up and batted her eyes and smiled.
"I think I am. I lost my girlfriends. And now I just don't know where I am." She tried to sound so innocent. All she could do was hope that it was working.
The man leered at her and hovered over her small form. He grabbed her arm with his thick hairy fingers and started pulling her away from the door. She tried pulling away but that wasn't working.
"What are you doing?!" she yelled. *No way am I letting him get me.*
"I think I'll have some fun of my own before I return you to your friends." He chuckled and started to pick her up to throw over his shoulder.
She could feel his hands on her ass and she tried kicking him but it was like kicking stone. She remembered her gun. She quickly pulled it out as silently as possible. She started to scream louder to hide the click of the gun, she pointed down at his feet. She hoped her aim was good.
Normally, Kagome was never a violent person but desperate times call for desperate measures. She could have threatened him with the gun; put it to his head. But that didn't seem like the right thing to do; she didn't want him pulling the gun out of her grasp.
She pointed the gun, hoped, and pulled the trigger. The gun was actually louder then she thought it would be. And the force behind the bullet shocked her into letting go of her weapon. But it was enough, the man fell to the floor, whimpering. She had actually shot his calf and now the guy was holding it, cursing at her. She rolled away from and picked up her gun.
She turned to face the man. She felt this anger in her she had never experienced. She was usually a pretty down-low person. But the scum had tried to rape her. She never liked people forcing her to do anything and violating her was at the top of her list of what pissed her off. While the man was still cursing and struggling to get up, she kicked him in the face. He never saw it coming and he fell face first into the ground. She heard the crack of his nose when her boot had made contact. And she could already imagine the gushing blood form her kick. It made her happy.
She started kicking the man more, getting out all her anger. *Wow this is pretty therapeutic.* She knew she had more important things to do but she couldn't help herself. But before she could give one more kick she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned about to pull her gun again.
*I'm getting pretty use to using one aren't I?*
But before she could raise it, she was staring yet again down the barrel of one. *Can I stop doing that?* She looked past the barrel into golden pools that made her instantly think of Sesshoumaru.
"Sesshoumaru?" she whispered.
*****
*What the fuck is this bitch talking about?*
Inuyasha had just walked in on this tiny girl kicking the shit out of his bouncer. He saw a pool of blood around the crumpled man and the girl still kicking him. He had run into the back when he heard the gunshot. He wasn't the only one; Kouga had heard it also but had ordered Inuyasha to go investigate. Kouga always did that; make Inuyasha risk his life, just because he was too chicken-shit to. Only the youkai of the club could have heard the gunshot over the trick beats of the club music, but since this was a mainly human club no one made a move towards the door. And then this girl goes and calls him by his goddamn brother's name. Sesshoumaru was the leader of the Demons a rival gang of the Wolves; Inuyasha's enemy. He growled at her question.
"On your knees." He ordered. The girl kneeled before him. He was wondering now if she worked for Sesshoumaru. If so she was new, he knew everyone in the Demon pack and he had never seen or heard of the raven-headed girl before him. She looked too innocent and frail to be doing anything but studying and being a good-girl. This situation didn't fit her, just like her clothes. He looked into her eyes, she hid her fear well but he could smell it rolling off of her to him. He was trying very hard to look tough and almost succeeding.
He went to her side and picked up the gun. He checked the handle; it had "Demons" engraved into the side. He looked back to the girl. *Doesn't seem like Sesshoumaru would let someone like her into his group.* He planted his gun to her head, and bent down to take a closer sniff at her. She didn't smell like anyone in his brother's group. That meant she wasn't initiated. She didn't smell like youkai, but then she didn't quite smell like human, like something else was mixed into her scent. He couldn't place it because it was so small. But then why was she here?
"What are you doing here?" he demanded.
She bit her lip and said in a surprisingly strong voice, "I got lost."
He smirked at that reply, "Do you really expect me to believe that? You shoot my bouncer and I walk in on you kicking him. And I now I find that you have a "Demons" gun." He clicked his gun into position acting like he was going to shoot, he wasn't. He didn't shoot girls, that job was left for the more lowly in the pack. "So please tell me what you are doing here."
She wasn't crying. That was amazing since most would be crying by now and begging, hell even guys would be. Even though he didn't know who she was he could at least respect her act. She couldn't though control her heartbeat; it was pounding in his ears and probably hers as well. He could hear her take a few breaths; it caused her too-low shirt to show of her breasts expertly.
"I'm not apart of the Demons. The gun isn't even mine. The only reason I have it is because a girl needs to protect herself." She said evenly.
*I can't tell if she's lying.* He thought suddenly. He had always been able to tell if someone was lying to him, it had always saved so much time when dealing with crooks. But this was different; he couldn't get any reading from her, like she was telling the truth but not really. He looked into her eyes; she just stared back with fierce indifference. This girl was weird in a different way. She was strong which contrasted with her looks. She was very good with her face, the only way Inuyasha would have been able to tell that her façade wasn't real was thru her body functions and her scent. The lying thing had thrown him off a bit. He didn't get it.
He was about to motion for her to stand when he heard footsteps on the other side of the door. He heard the door open and turned his face to see who it was. He really didn't think the girl would do anything to him. But before he knew it he was laying flat on his face. He got up as quickly as he could but she was already pointing her gun at him. His own gun had fallen from his hand when he fell. She looked angry. She glanced behind him at the door and he did to. He saw two girls both with black hair and handguns. They were from his brother's pack, Yura and Kaugra.
******
*I can't believe I did that.* Kagome thought. *When the hell did I get balls?*
When the dog-eared guy had turned his head she had slipped her hands around his ankles and pulled as hard as she could to make him fall into the floor. The gun had still been pointed to her head but she reasoned that there was no way he could shoot with his head turned. His gun and her gun had fallen from his grip and she scrambled to pick one up. She had been aware of the door opening, but for some reason she wasn't all that worried. She looked up into the shocked faces of Yura and Kaugra.
"What are you doing out of the car?" Yura asked. She couldn't believe the scene before her. Inuyasha, Kouga's right-hand man, brought to his knees by a girl who didn't even know how to use a gun.
"Amaye got a way." She said quietly. She was looking at the man on his knees before her. He had the same silver hair as Sesshoumaru; it was nearly the same length down past his back. His eyes held the same gold color except right now they had a tinge of red to them. He was staring at her. She was slightly pissed; the guy had sniffed her like she was a piece of meat. She would shoot him but he hadn't tried to do anything to her.
She was brought out of her daze though by Yura screaming at her, "NANI?!? All we did was ask you to watch her. You can't even do that!"
Kagome turned her attention to Yura, "That's why I came inside to get her. I would have to but that bastard," she gestured to the bouncers crumpled body, "he stopped me and tried to rape me and then this guy stopped me again when I was done with the bouncer."
"Sesshoumaru wanted Amaye to come back with us." Yura just sighed and shook her head. "We have to go we got Rin and Rei."
Kagome nodded. Kaugra had walked up to the two and was pacing in front of Inuyasha. "What do you think we should with him?"
Yura just stared at her, "Kaugra, you're kidding me right. It's Sesshoumaru's brother for god's sake. We don't do anything we just leave. The rest of them are already in the car."
Sesshoumaru's brother. That would explain the eyes but the ears? And then he didn't have any streaks on the side of his face. She had never heard of the Sesshoumaru having a brother. Interesting how the brothers were in rival gangs.
Yura was on her cell phone when Kagome looked back at her. She looked angry.
"Naraku we can't get her back. That's too risky." ...
"You might loose us in the process." ...
"Then what are we supposed to do about Inuyasha?" ...
"Yea. Kagome did" ...
"Okay then. Bye."
She hung up and dialed another number.
"Kanna. Naraku said just go back with them and that we'll meet you later. Bye."
She hung up and gave her attention to Kagome. Kagome had been glancing back and forth between Yura and Inuyasha. He was still staring at her. She didn't appreciate that either, it was weirding her out. Yura came up behind Inuyasha and drew her gun. Kagome didn't want him to die hadn't really done anything wrong. She was about to voice her objection but Yura had already brought her gun up above her head. Kagome then realized what she was going to do. He was still staring at her when he spoke.
"Wait Yura." Yura actually stopped. He looked Kagome in the eye and asked her, "What's your name?"
She really didn't think this was the time considering what they were about to do but she answered anyway.
"Kagome."
He bowed his head, and Yura brought down her gun quickly on the back of Inuyasha's head, putting him unconscious.
"Naraku said we have to get Amaye back." Yura said.
*Why is this girl so damn important.*
