Kagome pushed the pedals of her bicycle as she rode along, a drip of sweat trickled down her cheek. It seemed that they had been traveling for hours to find more shards, and Kagome was about to fall over.
“Can we stop for today InuYasha?” Kagome asked to the boy riding on the back or her bicycle. “It will get dark soon.”
“No, you just want a chance to run back to your time, we keep moving.” He said not really caring she was tired.
`Maybe I wouldn't want to go home if you weren't so mean!' Kagome screamed in her head. She let out a sigh and continued to pedal. What seemed like another hour Kagome's head snapped north.
“I scene Kouga's coming.” Kagome said.
“How can you tell it's him?” Shippo asked looking at a mad InuYasha.
“Because there are two and they're coming strait at us with fast speed.” Kagome answered as she stopped pedaling.
Suddenly a whirlwind stopped in front of Kagome, Kouga grasped Kagome's hands and smiles.
“How are you today Kagome?” He said happily. Kagome sweat dropped. “Fine.” Kagome said hoping off her bike and putting the kickstand up, with her hands still in Kouga's hold.
“Do not lie Kagome.” Kouga said looking at her with his icy orbs. “I can tell when my woman lies. You look tired.”
Kagome blushed and struggled out of his grip only to have a certain Hanyou grab her and push her behind him. He was always so protective, and Kagome loved that, but would never tell anyone that.
“What do you want ya Mangy Wolf?” InuYasha said rudely.
“To cheek up on MY woman, what does it matter to you.” Kouga said trying to get around InuYasha to Kagome.
“InuYasha.” Kagome said warningly. “Don't get into another fight.”
InuYasha turned around and looked at Kagome. “Shut up, I'll fight if I want to.”
“SIT!” Kagome said, she stepped over InuYasha's crater in the ground and ignored the curses that came out of his mouth and walked to Kouga where she whispered something in his ear. Kouga nodded and smiled.
“See ya later Kags.” Kouga said swiftly and tuned into a tornado and was gone faster than anyone could snap there fingers.
“What'd ya whisper to him Kagome?” Shippo asked curiously.
“Nothing.” Kagome said with a smile on her face, but she was lying, she had told Kouga to come tonight and get her, so he could take her back to the well, she needed to see her family, plus she knew she had way to much school work she missed out on and needed to do.
InuYasha stood up and glared at Kagome. “Wrench.” He muttered. “I heard what you whispered in his ear.”
Kagome looked at InuYasha sadly. He had heard, and would do everything in his power to not let him take Kagome away from him.
“Come on!” Kagome whined. “I haven't been home in tree weeks! My family's gonna worry about me!”
“They got nothing to worry abo--.” InuYasha didn't finish his sentence before he was sniffing the air and searching the sky for her soul collectors. `Kikyo is near by! I know that scent.'
“What's wrong InuYasha?” Kagome asked.
“Stay here for the night, I'll be back later.” He said hopping quickly away into the forest.
“Where's he off to?” Shippo asked innocently.
Kagome bent her head down sadly. “To Kikyo.” Was all she said. She hated it when he would run off after the dead miko.
“Look Kagome! It's Sango and Miroku on Kirara!” Shippo said pointing to the sky with his little finger.
“You stay here with them Shippo.” Kagome instructed, and with that she took of toward the direction in which InuYasha had left, little did she know the pain that would come to her in a matter of minutes.
Kagome kept running till she heard InuYasha and Kikyo, she hid herself behind a tree and listened in to there conversation, hoping her scent wouldn't be caught.
“InuYasha.” Kikyo said. “Why do you choose to be by that Miko copy?”
InuYasha was silent and then spoke. “Kikyo, I choose to be by her for many reasons.”
“Like what? To remind you of me, why don't you just travel with me, ditch them.”
“I can't.” InuYasha said quickly. “Especially not tonight, Kouga wants to take Kagome away from me.”
“Oh InuYasha!” Kikyo said. “Don't you realize it? She wants to get away from you.”
InuYasha's head dropped as he thought about it, he was pretty mean to her, she had all the reasons to leave him behind. That fear to him was worse than any, even that Naraku could plan.
“You care for her, don't you InuYasha?” Kikyo asked coldly averting her dark eyes to the ground.
“Yes.” Was InuYasha's hesitated answer, he truly had feeling for Kagome, and he was ashamed he was admitting it so late.
“The I shall kill you.” Kikyo said pulling out an arrow. “Die InuYasha.” She said.
InuYasha winced waiting for the arrow to hit him where it had the last time she shot him, he heard the sound, but there was no pain. InuYasha slowly drew his eyes to see what had taken place, and there in front of him was Kagome, with an arrow sticking out of her back.
“K…Kagome.” He said picking up her limp body, drops of blood streaming from where the arrow hit her. “Why?”
She looked up at InuYasha with her eyes full of tears from the pain, then she answered. “Because I have feelings for you too.” And with that she dropped her head, she had died.
InuYasha looked at Kikyo, who already readied another arrow, and she fired. InuYasha could have dodged easily, but he didn't, and with that he collapsed on Kagome's dead body, there pools of blood mixing together, along with a few slated tears.
And he had a last thought; the same one Kagome had moments ago, `I love you'
