To Live Like a Demon
The Start of an Adventure
~In the cabin mid morning~
Akara walked to the center of the small room and sat on a cusion on the floor, as she waited for the elderly women to speak. A stern silence filled the room when finally the old woman looked up. Akara stared into the woman's aged eyes and instinctively sensed something was wrong. After a long while Sameya finally spoke.
"Akara I have waited too long to tell you this," said the elderly woman. Akara stared back in confusion wondering if the old lady had gone mad. "Since your not a child anymore this may come as a shock to you, so I dare not explain it. Akara you are special and it is time to find out how special you are. Today you are going to start a journey over the mountains into a far region."
Akara gazed confusingly back at Sameya. She was a little frightened for the woman had not said "we" she had said "you". She wondered if it was all a joke for her birthday. Akara simply stared at the old lady and said, "Why must I journey out alone?"
"Oh, Akara, I know this may be hard for you to understand now, but you have to journey out across the mountains. It is time that you learned the fullness of your powers, and time that you meet people of your kind" Sameya said solemnly. "I have already packed most of what you will need on your journey. I'm so sorry I'm pushing you out the door like this, but I have to. I just want you to know I love you very much and I am just doing this for the best."
"I don't quite understand," replied the young woman, a little off tone.
"You will in time, I promise," was the only reply before the old woman opened the door, gave Akara her belongings in a bag which she slung over her shoulder, and pushed her out the door with only a good-bye hug and instructed her to follow a path which led deep into territories unknown to the girl. With a final hug Akara set off down the trail as the old woman watched as she went.
~On the trail early evening~
`How am I supposed to know what I'm supposed know what to do?' Akara wondered to herself. `Am I even meant to be here?' A loud gurgle came from her stomach area as she gave in to her hunger. The young woman walked to the side of the path to sit at the base of an enormous tree. There, she opened her sack to see what food Sameya had packed for her. Inside, she unwrapped some rice balls and ate one. There, she looked back down the path. She could no longer see her village and was half way to the mountains. Then, she peered at the sky to see the sun had almost gone down.
`I guess I better find a place to sleep' she thought to herself. From there, she walked more into the forest, yet not so far that she couldn't see the path. There she put out some blankets packed in her bag and made a bed by a larger tree. As night swept over the forest she found herself wondering why it was her who had to go out all alone. Eventually she became very frightened, but found sleep was coming very easy to her. She was actually very great full to have some sleep because today she had walked a long distance and her feet were aching. Finally, she fell asleep with the sun.
~Midnight at Akara's camp~
A sudden noise awoke the young woman. Suddenly, a cold sweat came over her body as she heard the noises of something creep toward her. Frantacly the young woman looked around the area looking for the attacker. Akara stood up immediately and waited for something to happen. The attacker approached slowly and from the almost moonless night she could make out a figure of a man. He was very tall and looked slender. His shape was very handsome.
Steadily the attacker approached and when he was just within three feet of her Akara closed her eyes and made a frantic slash at the man with her claws extended. The man jumped back and immidiatly dashed forward on a rampage. Akara quivered and seemed to shrink in his shadow as he made his attack on her. The man pinned her against a tree.
`Oh no, why did my life have to end so early!' Akara found herself thinking as she took a deep, shaky breath for her death to come. Finally, the man raised his arm in a way that would symbolize his final blow. His hand shot down toward her neck and suddenly stopped.

I just wanted to say thanks again for reading my fic! Please review! I know this is an Inu fic and it doesn't seem to be turning out that way, but just so you know in the next chapter it will. I just decided to tie some of my own characters in there first. This may not be one of the best stories you've read so if you have any subjections let me know.
