*Chapter Fourteen: Questions*

I wonder about that Inu Yasha guy a lot now. I want to know what he is like, see if he is like me. I mean, he looks just like me, so I might really be his reincarnation. There was a lot on my mind. Now that this guy is here, I want to talk to him, ask him all the questions on my mind. I mean, how am I supposed to tell if we aren't the same? I'm just confusing myself. Maybe when Kagome is done talking to him, I'll talk.

I waited for a few minutes when Kagome came out. She smiled and said, "I have to go wash the dishes." Her eyes were sad. Before I could ask, she ran back downstairs. I got up and knocked on the door to Kagome's room. Inu Yasha said, "Come in." I opened the door, and I saw him looking at me. He glared at me, "What the hell do you want?" I closed the door behind me and sat down beside the bed, "I just want to talk. Ask a few questions." Inu Yasha huffed angrily, " Do whatever you want. I'm not going to answer if I don't like the question." I nodded, "Fine." After a minute Inu Yasha said, "So? Shoot."

"Who are you?" Inu Yasha scoffed, "I'm Inu Yasha. Duh. I'm a demon, so don't mess with me." I shook my head, "Kagome told me you were a hanyou. Is that right?" Inu Yasha rolled his eyes, "So? You are too. Why are you just like me anyway?" I shrugged, "I wanted to ask you the same thing. I don't know how this happened, and neither do I know how I changed to take your form." Inu Yasha narrowed his eyes, "Well, I'll let you know that I don't trust you. I can't give you my word that I won't try to hurt you if you try anything." I nodded, "I completely understand. It's not easy to gain my trust either." Inu Yasha turned back to stare out of the window, a depressed expression on his face, "Tatsuya, right? What did Kagome tell you about me?" I sighed, "She didn't tell me too much, since I still don't see the exact person she described in you. The night I changed, she tried to give me the basic story. She told me about Naraku and Kikyo. She told me about the jewel and how she came to shatter it. She didn't tell me more other than that. Kagome's mother gave me a better idea of who you were. Stubborn, arrogant, loves to eat. But she also told me that you were very protective of Kagome." Inu Yasha smiled weakly, "Yeah. She always got into so much trouble. Every other day I'd drag her away from some blood-thirsty demons. Every week I'd drag her back to the Sengoku Jidai to gather jewel shards. But, now that I think about it, I never really gave her much freedom. She always wanted to stay home more often, with her family and friends. I didn't even give her that. Just one more day... I don't deserve to be treated so kindly by her."

I got up, "You should get some rest. Your wounds won't heal without it." I left the room and almost bumped into Souta, "Sorry." Souta shook his head, "It's okay. How's Inu Yasha?" I shrugged, "He's okay I guess. He just needs some time alone." Souta smiled, "Okay." And he ran off into his bedroom. I jogged downstairs to see Mrs.Higurashi. She smiled, "Good afternoon. Are you hungry?" I shook my head, "No. I just ate a little while ago. Have you seen Kagome?" Mrs.Higurashi said, "No I haven't. She went upstairs before you did. Otherwise, no I'm not sure where she is." I smiled, "Thank you." I ran back upstairs.

I crept down the hallway slowly, picking up any sound my ears could find. A few moments later, I heard a sound coming from Mrs.Higurashi's room. Somebody crying. Kagome. I silently opened the door and whispered, "Kagome?" Kagome looked up, her cheeks trailed with tears. Immediately, she tried to hide her face, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cry like this!" I stood beside her, "What's wrong?" Kagome sniffled and said, "Inu Yasha went through so much. He nearly got killed. He suffered." I wrapped my arms aroung her waist and pulled her into a hug, "He's going to get better though. That's what matters now. He won't suffer anymore. So don't cry. Please don't cry." Kagome gripped onto my shirt, "I know he's going to get better. He always does. But... he was badly hurt. Not only physically, but emotionally, possibly mentally. Naraku toyed with his mind, making believe I was killed after his effort to save me. Then that bastard made him go through so much pain. Day after day of torture. I can't imagine how hard it was for him."

One week went by, and Inu Yasha had recovered. Kagome had been going to school everyday, occasionally coming home early to check to Inu Yasha. But now we had another problem. Because Inu Yasha has a reincarnation, that means that eventually, he will die.

Kagome smiled at Inu Yasha, "Felling better" Inu Yasha stretched his arms and yawned, "Yep. I can move again!" He winced a little bit when he moved his right arm. Kagome bit her lip, "Is it still broken?" Inu Yasha shrugged, "No big deal. It'll get better by tomorrow." I said, "Kagome, you shouldn't worry. Look how much he's recovered. A little crack in the bone will heal in no time." Kagome seemed to agree with me because she smiled and said, "You're right! Inu Yasha's too tough to let a little fracture hurt!" Inu Yasha smirked, "Damn straight!" Buyo meowed loudly. Inu Yasha glared at the cat and growled, "Damn beast..." Then he chased after the shrieking cat. Kagome laughed, "He's better now. I don't have to worry anymore." I grinned, "Good. Because I'm not up to--"

I stopped mid-sentence and clutched my chest. I could barely breathe. Kagome looked at me in concern, "Tatsuya? Are you okay?" I fell on my knees, then on all fours, gasping for air. It felt like my lungs were being gripped by a vice. Suddenly, pain seared through the top of my skull and I screamed. Kagome shouted, "Tatsuya! What's wrong!" She grabbed the phone off of her desk, "I'm going to call an ambulance!" Then she called to Inu Yasha. My fingertips ached horribly. My claws shrunk down to the tip. It hurt so bad. I closed my eyes to try to calm the pain, but it didn't work. The pain from the top of my head dulled down, but it just increased on the sides of my head. I screamed again. The pain was too much. Cold sweat was pouring down my face. What's happening to me!? One minute I was talking to Kagome, and now this? I opened my eyes again. My vision was so blurry, I couldn't make anything out of it. It was darker too. I collapsed, my silver hair spilling over my shoulders and around my head. I squinted at it, trying to focus on something so my vision could return. I could only see the colors. Suddenly, whatever was covering my face began to darken, and then turn black. Now, I could hardly hear Kagome. She was screaming for Inu Yasha to come. I could only hear the sound of my heart pounding my chest at a rapid pace. I felt the ground shake as somebody else entered the room. I couldn't bear the pain anymore. The dizziness made my head swirl. I saw someone else with black hair lean down in front of me. I couldn't smell who it was. I couldn't smell anything. Finally, the pain got to me, and I passed out.

I slowly opened my eyes. Everything was dark and blurry for a while. After a minute, everything came back into focus. Kagome was sitting next to my bed, and some man was sitting next to her. Kagome's eyes were filled with tears, "Tatsuya! You're okay." The man rolled his eyes and said with a strangely familiar voice, "Feh. It was no big deal Kagome. He could have gotten better back at your place." I rolled my head over the side of the bed and vomited all over the place. The man said, "It's just because it's his first time that he's that bad." I couldn't get up, so I just stayed on the floor and passed out again.

"Tatsuya... Tatsuya, are you alright?" Kagome's face was right above mine. I moaned, "Where am I?" I didn't feel good at all. I felt horrible. Kagome said, "You're at the hospital. You passed out two hours ago, so I called an ambulance. Do you feel better?" I closed my eyes, "Yeah. Just a little tired. And pukish." Kagome smiled, "Your body couldn't handle the sudden effects, and your stomach just let everything go." I opened my eyes again. The man from before was still there, staring intently into my eyes. I asked, "Who are you?" The man said, "I'm Inu Yasha. Don't look the same, do I?" What? He's Inu Yasha? But he has dark hair now. And normal ears, and brown eyes. Inu Yasha sighed, "I'll bet you're wondering how this happened to me, and why you're feeling like this, right?" I nodded weakly. Inu Yasha rolled his eyes again, "You've turned into a human. Since I'm a hanyou, you are too. Every new moon, this will happen. You'll get used to it after you've experienced it some more. You can barely feel it after a few times. But just to let you know, it's going to hurt a hell of a lot worse in the morning, when you turn back into you're hanyou form. I remember how bad it used to hurt. You're just going to have to deal with it, once a month, new moon. Got it?" I tried to gather all of the information. I nodded, " It hurt like hell." Inu Yasha chuckled, "Well, what do you think? You exchange your dog ears for regular human ears. It's supposed to hurt. But there's no way to make it hurt less, so you're going to have to deal with it." I groaned, "It's going to happen again?" Inu Yasha nodded, "Yep. In a few hours, when the sun comes up. But it only hurts for a little bit, twists your insides some, and then you're fine until the morning. That's going to hurt more because your going from human to demon. Humans are much more sensitive to pain, so in the beginning, it'll hurt like shit." Kagome smiled nervously, "The doctors said they would discharge you in a few minutes. Since you stopped hurting so soon, they figured it was just some weird muscular ache or something. So, we're going to leave soon." I nodded and got up. It's true, I felt a lot better. I walked over to the small mirror on the wall of my hospital room. My hair was black, and tied back into a messy ponytail. My eyes were a dark chocolate color. My fangs had been flattened into normal human teeth. And I had normal human ears again, no itchy dog ears. It felt good to be a human again, but it'll be back to scratching fleas in a few hours.

Kagome's mother drove all of us from the hospital. It was around midnight now. Everybody was tired, especially me. I wanted to forget all the pain. I didn't want it to happen again. But since Inu Yasha pretty much knows everything that will happen to me naturally since he has the same body, then it's inevitable that I'll go through it again and again. Once we pulled into the driveway, we all went inside. I fell on the couch and fell asleep immediately.

"AAAAAAGH!" The pain! Not again! It's even worse! I can't breathe! I heard somebody running down the stairs. Inu Yasha grabbed my arm and held me up, "Calm down. Relax, otherwise it'll just hurt more than it's supposed to." But I couldn't stay still. I was shaking. I fell back on the floor despite Inu Yasha's efforts to keep me up. I saw Inu Yasha's hair get lighter, from the roots to the tips like it was colored with a paintbrush. His eyes slowly faded from brown to amber. He winced slightly when I saw his human ears melt back into the side of his head, and dog ears back on top of his head. But his transformation was so much faster. Why didn't my pain be over and done with as fast as him? I clutched the top of my head as I fell to my knees, screaming. Inu Yasha shouted, "Shit! Stop moving!" I curled up on the floor, my head hidden behind my legs. It felt like somebody was nailing stakes into the side of my head, and into each of my fingers. My eyes squeezed shut. My jaws were clamped shut too, I tried to get rid of the pain. My teeth grew bigger, back into fangs. Then the pain split through the top of my skull. I couldn't stop screaming, the pain was unbearable. My nails grew thicker and longer. Suddenly, a wave of scents wafted through my nostrils. I opened my eyes, and everything was clear. But the pain in my head still banged through my skull. I calmed down slowly, enough to see my hair fade many shades until it was shiny and silver again. I gasped, my lungs were finally free to breathe again. Inu Yasha shook his head, "I told you not to move! You just increased the pain!" I was shaking. The light was too bright, all the smells made me dizzy, my ears were sensitive to any sounds around me. I collapsed. Inu Yasha growled, "Oh, don't you pass out on me now! Kagome's going to want to drag you to the hospital again." I leveled out my breathing, and the pain slowly diminished. The shaking stopped, and I was used to the surroundings.

Inu Yasha grumbled, "Gods, you remind me of myself the first few times I dealt with that. My advice: don't freakin' move!" I chuckled, "Sorry. It just hurt really badly. I couldn't help it." Inu Yasha shrugged, "Well, I can't say that you can control yourself during your transformation. Just, next time, try to get a hold of yourself as soon as you feel the pain." I nodded. Then I asked, "Inu Yasha, how come you transform so much faster than me?" Inu Yasha groaned, "Now start with the hard questions. Anyway, I think it's because my body adjusted to the changes a lot more than you did. My transformation happens faster, because I'm used to the pain, and it's a kind of routine for my body. Once you get into the hang of it, it'll happen a lot faster, and it'll hurt less." I nodded, "Okay. I just wish I didn't have to go through this. Before I met Kagome, I was just a normal guy. Then that Naraku guy came and tried to hurt her. I got so mad I... I could only see red. I wanted to kill him and anything else that tried to get in my way. I've never felt like that before. And after that, I adopted your hanyou form somehow." Inu Yasha said, "You must have been ruled over by your demon blood. It happens only in your most angered and desperate situations. You're willing to kill anything just to smell blood. I hate it. I've killed many things in that form. Once, it almost took Kagome as it's victim." I looked up, "Kagome?" Inu Yasha sighed sadly, "Yeah. Once you get in that form, you can't get out until you kill everything around you, or you're defeated. Otherwise, I had the Tetseiga. It kept my demon blood intact so I couldn't change. Anyway, Naraku was here, he came to this time period?" I nodded, "About a month before we found you, Naraku showed up. I was at my house and Kagome was screaming. I ran over to her place and Naraku trapped me with those root things. He took Kagome's jewel and almost killed the both of us. But I got so mad I... well, that's when I changed into that demon form you were talking about." Inu Yasha seemed to understand. Well, of course he did. He's been through it more than me anyway, "Tatsuya, don't let it happen to you again. Especially in this time period. You'll kill hundreds of innocent humans. I regretted it when I first spilled human blood with these claws." He glared at his claws in remembrance. Then he got up, "You must be tired. Get some rest." He went upstairs without another word."

*Chapter Fourteen End*

InvincibleInuYasha: THE PAIN! Yep, I like to write this kinda stuff because I can throw all of my anger at a story character! It's so much easier to vent out your anger in a story rather than at yourself, or your friend and stuff. anyway, it seems that after the whole transformation thing is over Inu Yasha and Tatsuya start to feel mutual. They're actually getting along! Well, I'm tired. Good night! Ja ne!

P.S.-Remember when I asked u guys if I should kill off Kagome in like, chapter two when I got up two chapter fifteen? It's not gonna happen, sorry. Maybe later, if i really don't want a happy ending. Depends on my mood. But tell me a few endings that you guys want, and I'll be happy to oblige! lol. well, I'll be leaving you here! Ja ne!
