The Accident

Kagome was still on the bus to her house. She was thinking hard, trying and trying. But nothing came out and her head was still blank with no ideas. ` Dammit. Oh well, I'll just rest. I'm sure I can think up something in the morning.' Finally, her stop came and she got off the bus. While she was walking down the street to her house, she saw a man around the age of 30 or so. He looked drunk and was dancing around in the middle of the road. There weren't many cars around but it was still extremely dangerous. Kagome gasped and looked left and right before running across the road to the man.

" Excuse-me sir, but you have to get off the road. It is much too dangerous." Kagome tried to be polite but loud at the same time. She didn't think she was loud enough but the man suddenly stopped as if he was out of battery and just stared at her-hard. Kagome waited for a while but the man still didn't do anything. He just blinked and stared at her. Kagome gulped.

" Um…can we go back to the sidewalk, please?" Kagome suddenly remembered when a car whizzed by them and she yelped. The man slowly nodded and followed her across the street. But she could still feel his stare behind her back. ` Oh God, make him stop.' When they got to the sidewalk, Kagome turned back to the man and said, " Well, we're safe now. You should go home. It's getting dark." She was feeling less and less comfortable around this man. He seemed a little…insane.

But the man suddenly grabbed her arm and pulled her close. Kagome struggled to get free. " No. Sorry Sir, I cannot go with you. It's dark. I have to go home!" the struggle has gotten fiercer and Kagome was to the verge of crying now. " LEAVE ME ALONE!" She ripped her arm away and ran as fast as she could down the street. She was crying as she prayed. " Oh God. Please, send an angle to me and help me. Please God." She now turned into a small alley behind the houses. She looked back and saw that the man was having a difficult time running. But just then, she tripped and hurt the palms of both her hands. She sobbed harder. ` This can't be happening to me.' She tried to get up but her ankle seems to be twisted. She decided to crawl. ` Maybe the man will just give up and leave me alone.' She looked back again but saw the man coming. ` Holly shit. God! Please.' " STOP IT! STOP TRYING TO CATCH ME! PLEASE. I'M JUST A LITTLE GIRL. JUST GO HOME…PLEASE." Kagome hiccupped.

The man laughed. Just laughed. Right there, in front of the messed up Kagome and laughed. ` Oh God. He is insane.' He looked down at her square in the eye and said, " I want to play in the arcade. Would you come with me?" Then, he held out his hand. Kagome was just completely stunned. ` That's all? I am so embarrassed. I ran away from him for nothing. Man.' She smiled guiltily and held out her hand to be picked up. " I'm sorry I ran away from you-Whoa! What are you doing?" She was picked up bridle-style and the man was clutching her tightly.

" We're going to my house." Was the simple answer.

" You have an arcade in your house?" Kagome asked. Maybe this won't turn out so bad.

The man shook his head. " Nope. But I have a really nice bed. We'll have fun. You'll see." He smiled down at her.

" You remind me of someone…" Kagome wondered aloud. " It's just on the tip of my tongue…" She frowned and looked up and him again. Then her eyes widened. " Oh my God! You look exactly like Shrek!" Then she was dropped. " Ow!" She rubbed her bum, and looked up. ` What the hell?'

Inuyasha was there. " HOW DARE YOU TOUCH MY GIRL? YOU UGLY PIECE OF WRINKLY PRUNE!" Inuyasha was beating the man up badly. Kagome wanted him to stop but then, the man deserved it. ` Going to the arcade my ass.' She thought. The man now had a blue-blackish eye and millions of bruises. Kagome thought he had enough. " That's enough, Inuyasha. I'm happy." She forced out a grateful smile. " But the thing is…I'm not your girl." Inuyasha sweat-dropped. " After all this…you still won't be my girlfriend?"

Kagome sighed. " This is, and will be the last time I'm saying this: I will NEVER be your girlfriend. Sorry to disappoint you."

" Oh well, see ya at school." Inuyasha shrugged and walked away as if nothing happened.

Kagome sweat-dropped. " What a weirdo…" She shook her head and walked home.
