Ok, sounds like it's a good time to update as I am avoiding the stupid redo papers I need to do. Gah, I hate Grad school.

Wake up and…

"Oh Sessho, I love you so much." She whispered in his sensitive ear. He could barely contain the growl in his chest at a low enough level to not wake the rest of the house. She kissed a line from the base of his ear to the tip of his lips searing his skin. She was so warm and so alive laying next to him. She was so beautiful.

Currently they were sitting on his bed, she in his lap and him cuddling her closer. It was so comfortable. He was certainly not a person to be called snuggly nor cuddly, but with her he was different. He cared how she saw him and no matter what she could see through everything in him. She knew everything about him with one look in his eyes.

The look in his eyes now was lust and desire. There was no denying that she needed him as much as he needed her at the moment. She moved to straddle his hips as his arms shifted to hold her to him. All of the sudden she stilled. She was so stiff and her scent spiked into fear so fast he didn't get a chance to ask what the matter was.

A sharp pain in his neck and a swat at it told him that there was a dart in his neck and it hurt like hell. His senses were becoming fuzzy and Kagura was shifting off of him rather forcefully. He tried to grab her back to protect her but failed in his attempt. He heard a sneering laughter float through the room. It sounded suspiciously familiar.

"Now Kagura, you've been very bad, father is going to punish you now and there is nothing he can do." Spoke the dead-panned the white, ghostly looking child staring at them in Sesshomaru's room. Just before his eyes blanked and his senses shut down because of the actions of the sedative in the dart, he heard Kagura scream and a sickening crack followed it stopping the noise abruptly.

Sesshomaru jerked awake sweating. He was in his own bed, in his big house, scared to death. As was the way every night for the past month, she appeared in his dreams. It was almost like she was calling for him, needed him. He would go to her and find her. He needed her back in his life. Seeing Kagome in InuYasha's life only reinforced the fact that Kagura was missing in his. He would have his retribution on Naraku for taking his beloved back and with the help of his brother; nothing was going to stop him this time.

He resigned himself back to sleep for the time being. He needed strength if he was going to fight that dastardly hanyou, and he was going to be ready. If InuYasha agreed to help him they would be indestructible. In his dreams, he started making plans of how he was going to get her back. He would be ready… for anything.

~*~waking up with Kagome and InuYasha~*~

Kagome whined looking at the alarm clock. Three weeks after work had ended and she was still waking up at 5:30 to go to the bath room. Could her day get any worse? `Uh wait' she thought, `yup'. Many occasions reminded her that getting up early was the least of her problems, even if it was not one of her desires. But then again, waking up in the arms of the silver haired hanyou changed that outlook.

She looked over at him. She was still amazed every time she looked into those honeyed depths at just how stunning he was. Wait, honeyed depths… damn, he knew she was awake. He smirked; she cringed, as the pressure in her bladder was demanding her attention. She attempted to get up, and he wasn't going to let her. He had her pinned to the mattress with one of his legs, and he knew it! He was going to pay, after she went to the bathroom that is.

With a well placed elbow to the solar plexus, he oofed and she ran out the door to the bathroom. Relief was short lived however as she remembered the cause of her almost not making it. There would be hell to pay when she got back in that room she just didn't know what yet. Her short trip gave her time to think. How could she pay the hanyou back and live… she smirked evilly as the thoughts of retribution graced her brain. She would act as though nothing happened and she would repay him later in the day. Little did she know, fate was being fickle, she was not going to want revenge after this morning's activities.

She reentered the room and resumed her spot on the bed next to him. Her red nightgown silhouetted her perfect figure. His only thought was she still looks good in that color. Secondarily, he thought that she needed to gain a few pounds. She just looked too thin for his tastes. Ah well, he could remedy that with some ramen.

He looped an arm around her waist. She was too thin for his liking. That would have to change. He snuggled her to his side like a child would a favorite teddy bear. She sighed contentedly. This was her favorite thing about having to wake up early. He was so snuggly in the morning it made her melt every time. She actually thought about forgetting her retribution for his earlier actions. At his gentle kiss to her temple, all thoughts of pay back were forgotten. He was just too cute in the morning when he wasn't really awake yet.

Her only idea to calm them both back into sleeping was singing to him. It always calmed him down and he always fell asleep when she sang. As soon as he started purring while asleep, she was out too so it was a win-win situation and it wasn't like they had anything to do today. There was a new song she had heard on the radio the earlier day when she was having spa day with Rin. She wanted to try it out on him to see if it would have the desired effect of what she wanted to tell him.

Was he listening to her song? It fit so perfectly that she hoped he would be paying attention to her. In his head he had been drifting to sleep when he actually started listening to the lyrics. Was that what she felt? He snuck a look up to her eyes and saw nothing to make him believe she felt any different than what the lyrics depicted.

She was near tears when she looked down into his face. He was looking at her too, and in that instant they saw the truth for what it was. They knew that the love they felt for the other was returned. Both hearts soared as the realization hit. This day was looking up incredibly.

With that he could wait no longer. He reached up and pulled her into a passionate kiss. It was chaste at first slowly letting her admire the depth of his feelings for her. It quickly turned into something much more than that when he ran his tongue along her bottom lip asking for entrance. It was granted and in the breadth of a second, he was plundering her mouth with barely restrained passion. He wanted to take her, but had too much respect for her to do that. He would bide his time and let her see the truth of his feelings.

She finished humming the song when their lips broke apart for respiration to take place. It was just so beautiful what had transpired between them that she felt compelled to finish what she had started. They were again lying facing each other on the bed smiling like to idiots into each other's eyes. He leaned up and kissed her forehead "go to sleep love, we will talk at a more reasonable hour".

Hours later they were lazing in each others arms watching the Today show, laughing at some fool making faces into the camera. It was such a comfortable scene. They never wanted to leave the spot, in the bed or in each other's hearts.

A quiet knock came at the door. InuYasha beckoned whoever it was in and was surprised to see Sesshomaru standing there. He was again dressed in his ancient clothes as though he was going to a medieval fair. "Brother, I have a favor to ask of you, no beg of you to do with me. Please, we must get Kagura back, she is in great danger."

He had just gotten off the phone with one of his better contacts. Old Myoga may be just that, Old, but he was worth his salt when it came to snooping around. She was being held at her father's estate and needed rescuing if she intended on living. InuYasha merely looked at Kagome, who nodded imperceptibly at him, and he jumped out of bed. He retrieved both his Fire Rat Robes and his sword and went to stand with his brother.

Coincidentally, Sango and Miroku walked out at the same time and saw the brothers. Upon questioning them, they were let in on the rescue attempt and Miroku offered his services to them. Quickly agreeing, the three set out at the fastest pace possible to rescue the love of Sesshomaru's life as the two women sat at home waiting for their love's to come back safely.

"I guess my trip into the city was cancelled" quipped Sango with an ironic laugh. "Yeah, leave it to the boys to go off and play war." agreed an equally worried Kagome. Both thought at the same time, `come home safe my love.'

Yeah the lemon is coming. Just wait for it. I figure I need the experience of a fight scene under my belt so the next chapter will be one. The song is "True" by Ryan Cabrera, if anyone wondered. 5 more reviews please???
