I've read a lot of great fanfics that have really long chapters. Really, REALLY long chapters. But I'm afraid of making a chapter long cause then I think I might lose your attention! But I will make my chapters longer in my next story. I think it's a good one ^_^ Anyways the chapters will stay around same length for now—Where we last left off…

How had she even gotten herself into this? She coughed hard. She felt her whole body aching, a deep chill freezing her muscles over. She shivered, then sneezed again. She tried to get up, but a painful shock pierced her back. “Owch!” she yelled, falling with a groan back onto the rocky floor. A shock of warning spread through her body. Could she get back? What if she couldn't? It wasn't snowing, but the temperature surely was cold enough. She hugged her legs, suddenly sneezing. She must have caught a cold.
I'll be fine, she told herself. She sneezed once more. Inuyasha will find me…he'll…save m-me. A bitter chill fell over her body, she suddenly fell into a cold sleep; her last words echoing in her head; he'll…save…m-me...

Too Late?
Chapter 7
Koga ran as fast as his feet could take him. For someone like Koga, that was superhuman fast. He had to get to her fast enough. He had to make it.
He had smelled Kagome on the edge of his senses a little while ago, but had decided against a visit because of the time of night. Ginta and Hakkaku were still back at the caves, so he didn't have to worry about waiting up for them. During his extended search, Kagomes' scent separated from her group, which Koga had thought was odd. He stayed on his guard, making sure her scent didn't wander too far. The temperature dropped significantly after a few minutes, the winter night setting in for the first time. Suddenly, Kagomes' scent had become dulled, weak, as if something had happened to her. She was still separated from her group. I'll save you Kagome, was his only thought, as he raced across a small expanse of feudal Japan.
The familiar whirlwind kicked up, and he had been off. The jewel shards in his legs fueling his need to go faster, time was not on his side. What was that mangy mutt thinking? Letting her go off on her own on a cold winter night, she could be hurt or…
He couldn't stop himself from completing the thought. …or worse. “I'm coming Kagome!” was all that was heard through the cold, until its soft echo eventually faded, but by the time it did, he had reached his destination.

Kagome shivered. Her eyes were closed. She had drifted in and out of consciousness; her body was numb, the everlasting cold wrapping her in a blanket of ice. So, this is how it ends…she thought, her mind still able to process the fact she would die in this place. She would have cried one last time, but she already had. She had run out of tears. This made her want to cry more. The thought of dying alone brought the feeling of pain back to her numb body. All she could do was sob, until those too would eventually stop. Inuyasha, she thought, her words touching the bridge of her remaining strength. She opened her eyes.
The dark night had enveloped her, she was all alone; cold and dying. This had never been the way she expected her end. The frost swirled around her head, stirring her thoughts and feelings from their resting space. Suddenly, out of the dark abyss of her mind, a random memory flew to the surface.
A soft patter of rain fell out side, though luckily tonight, they could sleep indoors. They had found a small place, with one room for them all to sleep in. Kagome sat by the fire, warming her hands, the rest of the group slept soundly on a small pile of hay; a few barrels lay of to the side. Even Inuyasha had managed to fall asleep. Kagome put her hands close to the fire, enjoying its warmth and comfort. Her hands flew to her mouth, when she suddenly sneezed. Inuyasha opened his eyes.
She sneezed two more times. She tried to make them quiet, but had failed. “Put this on so you won't catch a cold.” A voice said behind her. It was Inuyasha, draping the robe of the fire rat over her shoulders. “Thanks” she whispered, suddenly sneezing again. “Oh, too late; looks like you already caught one.” Inuyasha said slowly, a hint of concern alleged in his voice. She put her elbow under her chin, her eyes directed at Inuyasha.
“No, someone's probably just gossiping about me” she replied, a bit cheerful, but dulled from her cold. She sneezed again, the robe of the fire rat, falling slightly from her shoulders.” Don't be ridiculous, who'd ever gossip about you” he said, checking both of their foreheads. Kagome blushed under his touch. “Hmm, well that's good you don't have a fever” he said, cut off by Kagomes' small advance on him. She laid her head on his shoulder. She whispered, “Thanks Inuyasha. Thanks for looking after me.”
He blushed a light crimson. Inuyasha looked over, “Hmm, you're starting to get kinda warm.” Kagome placed her head back near the crook of his neck. “Its ok…don't worry.” They both blushed deeply, the sounds of the rain fading in on their moment together. They both were silent; neither moving, neither stirring. Kagome, comfortable with the warmth from Inuyasha, fell asleep to his slow breathing; to his heartbeat. Though she had not known it then, she had never been so glad to be sick…
Kagome snapped back. She saw a figure in the distance, dark and fast; a new wind stirring behind him. At the same moment, she thought she heard a soft meow, coming a little south of her feet. Her senses were returning. She hadn't the strength to reach her bow, let alone to shoot the arrow, or the memory of how to do so. She watched in silence as the figure approached. Whether friendly or not, it didn't matter. Her life would end soon enough.
Within a second, the figure appeared before her face, shocked at her state of care. “Kagome…” he said, his voice low and jagged, but filled with much concern. A word flashed in her mind, the memory of a wolfish man, connecting to the figure she saw in front of her. A single word rung in her head, she could almost see it pass by her eyes.
“Koga…” the priestess whispered, suddenly collapsing against the dirt road. The wolf demon cradled her, cooing softly, whispering soft words and promises. Somehow, he hadn't managed to notice a piece of fir, rip from his loincloth. With a new determination, the demon sped away, searching for safe grounds, and a place to make a fire. Kagome had to make it. There were no other options. She had to survive.

Kirara nibbled on the small piece of fur in her mouth. She watched the demon speed away with someone she knew very closely. She tilted her head a bit, almost expecting her return. When there was none, she meowed again, turning her back to the road. With the piece of fur still clutched in her teeth, she instantly grew, and flew off towards her camp. Surely her master would want to know about this…
