(Authors Note)
Hi peoples! I wanted to apologize about the confusion of the last chapter, and those of you who read the earlier version, (the one with the dream, and without Koga) should go back and read the last half. Lots of changes to be sure, and I decided to make the plot much less complicated because of it. So, sorry about the confusion, but I would suggest you make sure you know what really happened last chapter before you come to this one ^_^ Lets get this over with - Where we last left off…

= Short period of the story, passes.

Inuyasha seemed to worry that Kirara had come back without Kagome. “Kirara, where is Kagome?” he asked her, his eyes betraying his brave face. She was smart enough to understand, she unfortunately was not gifted with a way to answer. Suddenly remembering the fur in her mouth, she sorely gave it up to Inuyasha. It was slightly moist but in all perspective was unharmed.

Quickly sniffing the fur, a look of anger passed his face, his hand squeezing the soft “fabric” in his hand. “This is…Kogas' fur…” he grunted
With an angry cry, Inuyasha leapt off the ground and began running. Miroku knew even if he jumped on Kirara, and followed Inuyasha now, he would never catch up. Besides, it would not be wise to leave Sango and their possessions alone. With a quick sigh, he sat by the fire, the way he remembered Inuyasha doing it. He was the new guard; for now at least.
Koga placed yet another blanket over Kagomes' body. She had not yet awakened from her sleep. It had been quite a while since Koga had found a cave to rest in. It was rather small compared to the large caves of the mountain, but it would hold both of them and give them plenty of room. The fire had not gone out since
Kagome must have been extremely sick he thought. He held her while she slept, something he had never been able to do before. “Don't worry Kagome, I'm not about to let anything happen to you. I'll…” he paused a moment, when he saw her stir. “I'll protect you.” Shortly after his words, he fell asleep next to Kagome; this would prove helpful in keeping her warm.

He was not sure if he had dreamt it, but somewhere in the night, a small voice seemed to whisper his name, her eyes focusing only on him, before she slept with a smile. “Koga”….

Too Late?

Chapter 9

Koga awoke to find Kagome sleeping next to him, sharing some furs and blankets. He blushed quickly as if someone would see him. He got up, stretching his muscles and unknowingly swishing his wolfy tail. His icy blue eyes sparkled under the sunlight. It was nearly noon, the sun lay mostly hidden behind a few clouds.

Kagome had been sleeping for nearly a day and a half now. Noticing she was much warmer then yesterday, he figured she would wake soon. She needs to eat to get better… he thought, weighing the options of leaving her alone, or her not getting to eat. It was very difficult. With a slight curse to himself, he disappeared at a blinding speed. Five minutes, he thought. Five minutes is all I'll need…

Inuyasha ran through fields, forests, along the paths of the roads, following the stench of the wolf, and the sweet smell of Kagome. They had been together he noticed, their scents mixing in with each others occasionally. It sickened him. Though he had a hard time picking up their scent in the cold, the warm air was now ripe for his search, if the scent was not already too old. It appeared Koga had been around these roads lately. Picking apart the smells, he followed the path that would lead him to Kagome. Just you wait Kagome, his thoughts replayed occasionally. I'll save you.

Kagome shook herself. She had to wake up; she wanted to see Koga, to see Inuyasha. Her dream kept dragging down her consciousness, put she pulled free. I am not going to sleep anymore, she willed herself. I am going to wake up.

With a sudden burst of energy, her eyes popped open. Her last memories of the dark, cold road were nothing like what she saw now. She laid in a cave, under several layers of fur, a fire a little off to the side. The furs next to her, told her someone must have slept there. “Koga” she whispered. She sat up, her muscles sore from no reason in particular. A burning feeling fled from her body to her toes, repeating for a few minutes.

She managed to get up. Her school uniform looked wrinkled and dirty. It also was cut in a few places, but was all together usable. She wanted to take a bath. A normal, regular bath in her house. Not in any river like she had when she was with the group. She walked towards the entrance of the cave. No sign of Koga, she thought, glancing to either side. She didn't know what to do. Run to find Inuyasha? Stay and wait for Koga? This whole thing was getting much too complicated for her. The smooth rock floor served as her seat. She looked towards the trees. Nothing stirred as far as she saw. She sighed.

She suddenly realized something; she couldn't do this. She couldn't keep doing this to herself; she was suffering from all the confusion, and the things that put her in harms way… She may have had the smarts too survive in this land before, but without her memory, she couldn't last a day. She needed her friends. She needed her memory. She needed…to go home.

Out of the chasm of her troubled mind, a memory returned. The bone-eaters well. Her gateway home. She smiled in delight at the sudden memory returning. She even giggled a little. As if on cue, the wolf prince came bursting from the trees. Kagome was only frightened for a moment, until she saw it was Koga. She ran to greet him.

“Hey Kagome! You're awa—“ he said, suddenly being cut off by Kagomes' embrace. She nuzzled her face into the soft area near his neck, clasping her hands tightly around his back.

A sudden heat rose in Kogas' body, he noticed how close they were, how close her lips were to his neck… a pulsation ran through his body, a pressure building low in his stomach. He shuddered slightly, Kagome didn't notice. Koga quickly conquered his shock, and lightly hugging her back.

Without her memory, and her feelings for Inuyasha, she couldn't help but feel a little attracted to him…. “Koga! You're back!” she giggled, kissing him lightly on the cheek.

It took several moments for Kogas' shock to subside. The feel of her lips on his skin lingered, he wanted to feel it again, but he would not ask. Nor would he force her. He would simply wait until he received another, which he hoped was soon.

“Yah, Kagome…I brought you back some breakfast” he replied nervously, a light sweat falling over his face. Kagome couldn't help but giggle. He had brought some eggs which could serve as a good morning meal.

Suddenly, staring at Koga, all her memory of him passed by her eyes; everything that had happened between them returned to her. She gasped.

“What is it Kagome?” Koga said, quickly looking her over. Suddenly she took his hands. He winced.

“Koga! I remember you!” she said, beginning to jump up and down. “You're from the wolf demon tribe, your friends Ginta and Hakkaku are always with you and one time…” she suddenly stopped, breaking free of holding his hands. “You kidnapped me!” she said, pointing her finger accusingly with a cross face to match.

Koga sweated. “Kagome haven't we already talked about this…” he started, then slowly looking her over more intently. “And you sure you didn't get a head injury or something?”

Kagome gave him a sarcastic look, then suddenly remembered what she had earlier. “Koga, I need you to take me to the bone-eaters well” she said, looking him deeply in the eye.

“Why is that Kagome?” he asked, a little surprised at her sudden request. She shook her head. She wanted to tell her friends about her leave, but she needed to get home, she didn't have time. Every second here was another closer to danger. “Please Koga?” she said, grasping his hands again. Koga surprisingly agreed, only after they had eaten though would he take her. She agreed, sorely missing home; the place where she thought, she was meant to be.

*
Inuyasha arrived at the cave where Kagome must have been staying, when he suddenly heard a voice. “You kidnapped me!” it was Kagome. He hid behind some trees, listening over to their conversation. He was extremely tempted to jump out and kill Koga. He must have kidnapped her on her walk, the filthy bastard, He thought. He was about to jump out when he heard Kagome ask to go to the bone eaters well. Had she remembered it? Was it possible? He continued to listen. Koga agreed to go after they had eaten. Inuyasha realizing her could not run as fast as Koga, decided to get a head start and go to the bone-eaters well. He would talk to Kaede first, then confront them when they arrived. He wouldn't let her go home so easy…

*
Kaede stirred something inside a pot. It smelled awful, but it did wonders medicinally. She was about to leave her hut when Inuyasha ran into her. “Inuyasha, what are ye doing here?” she asked, rubbing the soft bump that now formed on her head. Inuyasha looked much more displeased today then usual.

“Koga must have taken Kagome earlier. She doesn't have her memory right now, but she asked to the bone-eaters well. I wonder how she knew that was her way home, if Koga didn't tell her.” He said, piecing the puzzle together while saying it out loud.

“Maybe she is regaining her memories slowly.” She said quietly. Suddenly, she dropped the pot. Her eyes grew a little bigger, and she walked across the room to get a book.

“What is it Kaede?” Inuyasha said, careful to avoid the gook on the ground.

“You said she lost her memory after a fight with a demon, correct?” Kaede said, flipping through pages in a giant book.

“Yeah, after we killed the demon who had a hold on her soul.” He replied, watching Kaede with great intent. She found the page she wanted then looked to Inuyasha.

“The Kad-ma Demon” she said, following her words with a finger. “A devilish demon that may take on the appearance of another being. The demon has the abilities to cast dark magics even after death.” She said, suddenly stopping at the last part of page.

“What it is Kaede?” he repeated, wanting to know the grave importance of the last paragraph.

She closed the book. “Inuyasha, ye must stop Kagome from returning to her time.” Her voice seemed to echo in his head; her last words repeating on his way to the well. “If Kagome is to leave without the dark spell broken, she can never pass through the well again.”

(Authors Note)
Interesting chapter? I guess now I have to decide if he will stop her in time ^_^
She remembered Koga
first; you think she will remember Inuyasha?

The final chapter approaches!
