Touching the Stars

Dreaming. I had to have been dreaming, seeing a creature only known to be within my most vivid fantasies. She just sat there, looking to the stars. I have never seen a more beautiful creature, even within my dreams. She shined like the brightest sun, but was crying the color of waterfalls. I want to ask what is wrong, but I am afraid. Afraid of whether or not this creature is real. I sure hope so, that is for sure. Although, I also wish to know why she is crying. Why would something so beautiful be crying?

I decided to approach her, as the creature's voice broke through the silence. "Who are you?" came the creature's gentle voice. I now knew that this creature was not female.

"My name is Kagome," she replied, truly wondering who this beautiful being was.

"You are wondering who I am," the being spoke sofly.

"Um..yes, I do," Kagome responded shyly, walking a little closer.

"I am Masaharu, a fallen angel," he told her, finally looking to her face.

"Why have you fallen?" Kagome asked, feeling pity for the wonderful creature.

"I must help someone pure of heart become happy," Masaharu replied, still looking to the stars. Kagome came up and sat next to him.

"When you say someone pure, what do you mean?" Kagome questioned, looking at his face expectedly.

"A spiritual being that is pure of heart. Although, I cannot tell whether someone is pure or spiritual. My masters ask me to find out without my powers. The only power I have is the power to touch the stars," he replied, tears rushing from his eyes yet again.

"Do not cry! I am a priestess, maybe I can help in some way," Kagome told him, wiping away his tears.

"You are spiritual?" He asked, looking hopefully at Kagome.

"I cannot tell you if I am pure or not, but we could always try, right?" she told Masaharu, taking his hand and pulling him into a standing position, finally noticing his wings.

"What can I do to make you happy?" Masaharu asked her, happiness shining in his eyes.

"I want you to take me with you...to touch the stars," Kagome said excitedly, trying not to giggle at the shocked look on his face.

"That is all you wish of me? All you need to make you happy?" Masaharu asked.

"Yes. It will make me the happiest girl in the world!" she replied,"When can we go?"

"Right now," he replied, picking her up and flying higher and higher off the ground. Kagome started squeeling in excitement, looking towards the sky that she was slowly getting closer to.

"Is it truly possible to touch the stars?" Kagome asked in curiousity, logic just now setting in.

"Anything is possible, if your an angel," Masaharu replied, flying faster. Suddenly, a barrier appeared around them, as they flew threw the atmosphere.

"Wow! This is amazing! Where did that barrier come from?" Kagome asked, wondering why she could still breath.

"I made it. My masters have decided to give me my powers to be able to accomplish my mission." He said happily, glad to be getting back to normal. Masaharu started to slow down, then finally coming to a stop by a star, letting a hole in the barrier for her to allow her arms out into space. She reached out hesitantly, slightly afraid. "Do not fear it, the star is willing to let you touch, if only for your happiness."

As soon as he said that, she touched the star, feeling its warmth upon her skin. "This is....Amazing!!" Kagome said in a dazed voice, as she suddenly passed out.

Kagome was scared awake by her alarm, noticing that it was already 6:30 AM. "Oh, I guess it was just a dream," Kagome said to herself sadly,"I really wanted to help him.." Kagome got dressed, ate breakfast, and was on her way out the door.

"Kagome!" Her mom called,"The man who dropped you off last night said to tell you that he thanks you for all the help!"

Kagome smiled to herself,"Ok! Thanks mom! I'll see you after school!" Kagome said, walking out the door to school.

She was in her first period class right now. Her History class.

"Today, we will be talking about mythical creatures," Kagome's teacher announced, starting to right a name on the board. "First we will talk about angels."

Kagome breathed in heavily in shock, staring at the teacher, really wondering what he would say.

"Angels, people believe, is when someone dies and goes to heaven. Although, if an Angel makes a mistake, however small, they send the Angel to Earth. These Angels are known as Fallen Angels."

Kagome was even more shocked than before.

"Fallen Angels, to go back to the world above, must make someone that is spiritual and pure happy."

Kagome listened to the teacher in curiousity.

"There is even one legend that has been recorded in books."

Kagome was even more interested at the thought of someone recording having seen an angel.

"A young girl had been walking through the forest, seeing the angel crying," the teacher began. Kagome almost fell over in shock. "He had told her that he was a Fallen Angel, and could only get back up if he helped someone spiritual and pure become happy. The young girl had been a priestess, so she had offered to help."

"Oh my gosh!" Kagome thought to herself, realizing that this was most definately her in the story.

"He flew her up into the sky, bringing her into space. The Angel let her touch a star, and she passed out in shock. The Angel brought her home in thanks, knowing that he could finally go back home again."

Kagome looked out the window after the teacher had finished, knowing that somewhere out there, Masaharu was smiling down on her.
