Prologue

 

There is more than one universe. There is our own, and many others. There is also a universe parallel to ours…almost like a mirror image.

 

Deep within this universe is a planet equivalent to our own, yet very different. It is called Makushmia. It knows no fear, nor hunger or unnecessary life loss. All it knows is peace and happiness.

 

Unfortunately, the spirits of their dead do not. And neither do ours. For the two worlds feel that there can only be one. So after anyone dies, their spirit is brought to the gate between the worlds to forever fight. Many of the dead will never get the chance to rest in peace.

 

Soon, however, this may change. Two with the power to stop it all will be born, one in each world. On Makushmia, a beautiful winged girl, and on Earth, a half-demon boy. It is their fate to someday meet, and they must look past their differences and work together if there is ever to be peace for our dead. But there is no guarantee that they will succeed, for their differences may be too great.

 

All we can do now is wait and see what happens.
