Chapter 3
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Early Birthday Surprises~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“Ok have you decided about your tattoo yet?” Tora asked Destiny as he put away his blue guitar after practice. His short bleach blond hair blew in the wind. The 17 years-old-boy was only wearing his light blue jean shorts, the yellow t-shirt was forgotten in the 90 degree heat.
Destiny looked up at him and answered, “Ya I think so, when can I get it done. I have to make sure I can sneak out that night.”
“Ooooo, sneaking out. Bad girl. Bad,” Kitch pointed his finger at Destiny as she bit the air in front of it. “Oi! Down girl.”
“I ain't a fucking dog, loser.”
“Really, cause you seem to be acting like a real B-I-T-C-H!!” Kitch started to run away from Destiny as she lunged for him.
“Come back here you little fucker”
“Catch me, fatty!” Kitch yelled back at Destiny as they ran around the grass in the park.
“WHY YOU LITTLE!!” Destiny caught up to Kitch and pulled him down to the ground with her. All the other guys started to laugh at the two.
“You guys are so immature.” Kira slowly shook his head at the teens on the ground. Like Tora, all the guys took off their shirts in the summer's heat. This caught more than one whistle from girls through out the day.
Kitch pulled himself out from under Destiny and joked, “Ya well, I'd rather be immature then a pretty-boy model. Oooooo, Kira my hero.” He leaped to the side to avoid Kira's fist.
“Hey Dest, you get it tonight. You tell your grandma that you will be out late tonight, she wouldn't suspect anything.” Kiro said as he gave her a hand up from the ground. His sandy blonde hair pulled back in a small ponytail on the nape of his neck, with black sunglasses covering his brown-almost red sometimes- eyes.
“I never thought of that. Kiro, you're so smart,” Destiny replied as she glared at Kitch, “Unlike SOMEONE I know!”
“Oi! I'm smart!” Kitch yelled back at her. Destiny and the guys just rolled their eyes.
“So have you decided what you wanted to get?” Tora returned to the original questions.
“Yep, of course! I want to get the four element symbols.”
“You mean like fire, water, air, and earth?” Leo questioned.
“Well duh. What else would I mean?” Destiny answered.
“Just wondering.”
“Whatever. So I'll meet you all at Tora's house, ok. See you then guys.” Destiny said as she packed up to leave for the shrine.
“Ya, see you at my house.” Tora waved at her.
“BYE DEST!” all the other guys yelled in unison.
Destiny waved back at the teens as she walked through the park.

“Hey grandma, I'm home!” Destiny called when she walked through the front door. She took off her shoes and walked through to the kitchen, then the living room.
“Grandma! Is anyone home?” she yelled.
“Destiny! I'm out here!” Mrs. Higurashi called from outside.
Destiny walked through the kitchen to see her grandmother, grabbing an apple on the way out. She saw her grandmother by the sacred tree, along with another person.
“Hello Destiny, glad your home. Excuse me Mr. Inunotasho, this is my granddaughter Destiny. Destiny this is Mr. Sesshoumaru Inunotasho.” Mrs. Higurashi gave a warm smile as she introduced them.
“We've met.” Destiny said, the venom dripping from her words.
“You have?” Mrs. Higurashi glanced from Destiny to Sesshoumaru.
“Yes, I have already had the …pleasure…of becoming acquainted with your granddaughter, and if you do not mind, I shall be taking my leave.” he shook Mrs. Higurashi's hand and nodded at Destiny. She gave him a dirty glare.
“What did you say to him, Destiny Higurashi?” her grandmother tapped her foot on the ground as he walked down the stairs away from the shrine.
Destiny looked innocently at her grandma. “Nothing grandma…well nothing much,”
“What did you do?”
“Can I just say that we didn't get off on the right foot?”
“No. Nice try, but give the real answer. It couldn't have been that bad.”
“How about I'll tell you EVERYTHING later, if you let me leave right now for Tora's house. I told them all that I would be coming, I have to tutor Tora and Leo in math.”
“Alright, but you must promise me that you will tell me everything.” Mrs. Higurashi held out her hand to her granddaughter. Destiny looked at the hand and shook it.
“Deal.” Destiny bargained. She turned around, running into the house to grab her baseball hat before she left for Tora's.

“Are you sure you wanna go through with this? You don't have to you know. And your grandma will kill you.” Leo cautioned the young teen.
“Yes for the millionth time! Geesh, can't you leave me be? I'm so totally going to do this! I'm not a baby any more.” Destiny was sick and tired of the guys trying to get her to back out from actually going through with the tattoos.
“Well, we're here,” Tora held open the glass door leading into a small empty waiting area, the wall covered in different tattoo designs. “YO! Uncle T. Ya here?”
“Whatda ya want ya lil vermin?” A tall middle aged man walked threw a wooden door in the back. Almost every square inch of his face was pierced or tattooed, as well as his body.
“My friend here wanted some tattoos as a birthday present. I told her you were the man to see. Uncle T., this is Destiny, Dest, guys, my Uncle T.” Tora introduced them all.
“A girl? Did you say a GIRL wanted a tattoo?” the dapple gray haired man scratched his head.
“So what if I'm a fucking girl, you have a problem with that?” Destiny put her hand on her hips and stared the man down.
“Nothin lil' lady, just don't get to many girlies wantin' a tattoo. Well let's get started, come inta that backroom when I call ya.” Uncle T. rolled his eyes at the teen and lightly limped into the backroom once again.
“What the hell is wrong with him? Is he drunk or something?” Kitch looked to Tora.
“Na, he's just…unique…I guess.”
“Fuckin' retarded more like it,” Destiny muttered as she leaned against the wall with her arms crossed, “Call me lil' lady…HA… fucking loser.” at the comment all the guys rolled their eyes at her and laughed.
“Come on Dest, he didn't mean it like that. Hell, he calls my sister lil' lady, and she's 26.” Tora told her.
“Still, it makes me sound weak,” Dest pouted. Kira wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
“You are not weak and you know that.” he looked into her golden-brown eyes as she looked up at him.
“Damn straight.” she snorted to add to her point.
The sound of wind chimes was heard as two people walked through the glass door. The first to walk through was a very tall man. Wearing a black t-shirt that read: Drunk chicks think I'm a god, with blue jean shorts and open toed sandals. Long white hair that reached mid back was pulled back into a braid, showing off a number of earrings.
“Get off my back Sky, I told you I'm going to do this and the old man can't stop me.” the man looked to be in his early twenties.
“Come on Keimaru, father will kill both of us if you do this.”
The young woman turned her back on the group of friends, much to the guy's disappointment. Her pink sundress and white sandals made her look out of place in the small room. Unlike her companion, she left her long white hair loose.
“Fine, I guess that I'll meet you in hell, dear sister,” he turned away from her to look at the group, his eyes widened, “Well well well, if it isn't Hyama Kira?” Keimaru walked over to Kira and shook his hand.
“Long time no see Inunotasho, hear that you've been give the old man some lip,” Kira replied. Destiny kicked his shin to get his attention. “Ah yes, Keimaru, meet my best friends. This is Destiny, Kiro, Kitch, Leo, and Tora.” Kira pointed to them as he said their names.
“Very nice to meet you all, I am Keimaru Inunotasho and this is my little sister Sky. So Kira what are you doing here?”
Kira raised his eyebrow at the man. “I should be asking you the same thing. I'm surprised the paparazzi haven't shown up yet.”
“Na, the old man is having a business meeting so all those ass wipes are over there.”
“Oh ya, your dad's signing something with my grandpa isn't he?” Kira asked.
“Ya, and with all the commotion I could sneak away and get this done. I'm hoping this will get me kicked out.”
“You want to get kicked out?” Leo asked.
Keimaru nodded. “Yeah, I hate living with my folks! I'm almost 23 and still living with my parents. Does that sound right to you?”
“Well, if you accept the fact that father is trying to raise you as his successor then it would make more sense.” his little sister snapped.
“Only when he accepts the fact that I don't want the damn job, I want to write music and play drums in a band, or run a bar in the Bahamas, not a business shark with suits and servants.
“Fine, if that is what you want, let's go home and talk about this, you don't have to get a tattoo.” Sky looked like she was pleading with her brother. She turned to Destiny like she needed backup
“Don't you agree with me? That tattoos are ugly and stupid?”
Destiny just gave the girl a strange look. “Now, why the hell would I say such a fucking stupid thing like that?”
“Because you're a girl, why, did you get dragged down here by these guys?”
“What…fuck no! Like these pansy-ass guys could drag me anywhere. I'm the one getting the tattoo, not the guys.” Destiny looked at the mortified girl.
“Yo, lil' girl, I'm ready back here.” Destiny looked at the tattoo man.
“I'll be back soon. I bet you all that I won't shed a tear.” With that she pried herself from Sky and walked to the back. Keimaru walked over to the teens.
“She's a fighter, isn't she?” all the guys nodded and waited for their brave friend.
* * *
“I still can't believe you didn't cry, man even that Keimaru kid tear'd up.” Kitch's black hair swayed as he shook his head. The group of teens had left for Tora's house after Destiny got her tattoos.
“What did you expect? I told you I ain't a wuss,” Destiny threw a pillow at Kitch and leaned back against the couch pulling the math book back into her lap, “Damn, I hate math.”
“Ya, but your good at it.” Kira pointed out.
“And that's why I'm stuck here tutoring you guys in math. Why, oh, why was I cursed with such academic knowledge?”
“It's a blessing in disguise.” Leo said.
“You know what guys?” Destiny looked down at her page as her tone turned serious.
“What?” they all answered.
“Why am I so different?”
Kiro tilted his head and glared at the girl. “Why do you say that?”
“Never mind,” she waved her hand as to drop the subject, “Just forget I said anything. Well I'm tired, night guys.” Destiny stood up and walked off the guest bedroom down the hall. After hearing the door close, the teen boys all turned to each other.
“Something is bothering her.” Tora broke the silence.
“Ya, something big.” Leo placed his head on his hand.
“She's hiding something, I know it. We're her best friends, and she won't tell us.” Kitch glanced at the door Destiny had walked into.
“We have to get her to talk, and soon.” Kiro added.
“I'll talk to her, tomorrow,” Kira ran his hand threw his brown hair, “If she won't talk to me, she won't talk to anyone.”
The others nodded their heads. After cleaning up the popcorn and pillows, they all headed to the extra bedrooms for a nights sleep.
