Chapter 13 Take My Breath Away

Sango and Miroku were cuddling on the loveseat when Kagome and Inuyasha entered the front door. Kirara was curled up on an arm chair across the room. Inuyasha heard the older woman rustling around in the kitchen humming a happy tune. Kagome smiled and pranced over and sat on the floor in front of the loveseat to chat with the lovers that sat on it. Inuyasha just grinned at the sight in front of him. He walked past them and stepped into the kitchen to find the elderly woman.

Kaede was just putting some of the dishes from breakfast away when Inuyasha took them from her hands and put them up for her. She was shocked at first but then she just smiled and thanked him. Inuyasha got a serious look on his face.

After a few awkward moments, Inuyasha quickly hugged the older woman and, almost as quickly, let go. Kaede was shocked by his actions. Before she could ask what the hug was for, however, Inuyasha spoke.

“Thank you. For everything.” He told her and bowed in respect.

“It is not a problem child. Ye are welcome anytime.” She replied.

“Not just that, for taking care of Kagome back then. Thank you.” He said with as much sincerity as he could show to her.

“I could sense her powers before she even entered our small town. I knew she was special before I met her. I took her in not knowing how attached I would get to her.” Kaede grinned at the fond memories. “Now, she is like a granddaughter to me. I would do anything for her.” She told the hanyou.

“I promise, for as long as I have the power, to never let anything hurt her. You can depend on that.” He promised to her in a serious tone.

“I’m very glad she found someone to stay with and take care of her. I know that you will be very good to her.” She said and smiled at him. Inuyasha just smiled back and nodded. He walked into the living room where his soon to be mate was laughing and chatting with Sango and Miroku who were also cracking up.

Kagome was sprawled out on the floor holding her gut. Inuyasha just smiled again and sat next to her on the floor. He gently picked the laughing girl up off the ground and leaned her up against his side, wrapping his arm around her.

“Oh, hi Inuyasha!” She said through her giggles. “Where did you go?” She asked a little curious but still giggling about the stories Sango and Miroku told her.

“I just went and talked to Kaede. It was nothing.” He said as he smiled at her. Kagome smiled back to him.

“Hey does anyone wanna go take a dip in the creek? It’s not too far from here.” Kagome asked excitedly.

Sango looked over to Miroku. “Do you want to go sweetheart?” She asked him. “I would really enjoy it if you want to.”

“If it will make you happy then that’s what we are gonna do!” Miroku said smiling as he started to stand up to go get their things ready to leave.

“Awesome! Inuyasha, will you go with us?” Kagome asked Inuyasha.

“I’ll go anywhere you go.” He told her with a loving look in his eyes. She returned his gaze. They stared into the other’s eyes for a few more moments before they were snapped back into reality by the sound of a slap.

They looked to the hallway where the sound came from and saw infuriated Sango storming towards the front door and a red faced Miroku begging her to forgive him. Kagome and Inuyasha chuckled and got up off the floor to get ready to leave.

After a bit, everyone was ready to head to the creek. Kaede asked if Kirara could stay with her while they went on their swim and Sango agreed. Sango was still mad at Miroku, so Miroku and Inuyasha walked a few feet ahead of the girls.

“Hey what happened between you and Miroku?” Kagome asked. She was curious why the two lovers were fighting so badly.

“It was awful Kagome!” She cried as she pushed her face into her shoulder. Kagome hugged her friend to try and comfort her. “He is such a pervert! I was getting my bikini and towel, and I bent down to pick up my sandals..” She paused.

“Then what?” Kagome asked.

“He-he.. He grabbed my butt!” Sango sobbed!

“He didn’t!” Kagome yelled. Sango lifted her head with a few tears left in her eyes.

“He did! And that’s why I slapped him and stormed off! He doesn’t care at all for my feelings..” Sango said whipping her eyes.

“Oh, don’t say that! He loves you more than anything! Trust me! I can see it in the way he looks at you!” Kagome comforted her friend. ‘Just like I see in Inuyasha’s eyes.’ She thought as she lightly blushed at her thoughts.

“You really think so Kagome?” Sango asked with a little hope in her eyes.

“Of course!” Kagome assured her. Sango’s eyes lit up. Sango jumped at Kagome and hugged her hard.

“Thank you so much! You’re a great friend!” She told Kagome as she pranced off the forgive Miroku.

Kagome walked along as she day dreamed about her lover, Inuyasha. Suddenly, she had strong arms wrapped around her and spun her around. Kagome squeaked in surprise.

She was met by a pair of strong but gentle lips softly kissing her. She willingly kissed back because she would be able to recognize these lips anywhere. They belonged to the man she promised herself to. She lifted her hands to his flowing, long, silver hair. She proceeded to tangle her fingers in the silky strands.

Inuyasha gently tightened his grip on her as his lust took hold of him once again. He fought himself in his mind because he loved her too much to hurt her. He made sure he had a good hold on her and jumped onto the tree branch above. He sat in the branch and sat her on his lap. Kagome re-positioned herself on top of him. She was now straddling him. She passionately kissed him and he kissed her back with the same passion. He then broke away from her lips and began tracing her jaw line with light loving kisses.

Kagome moaned with pleasure and her arousal sparked. Inuyasha let out a pleased growled in response to her reaction. Inuyasha gently lifted his hands up her side, feeling every inch of her curves.

Kagome was losing her mind. “Inuyasha, we can’t do this here.” She moaned.

Inuyasha reluctantly pulled his lips off of her neck and pecked her lips. “I’m sorry.” He whispered, a little out of breath.

“It’s okay Inuyasha.” She breathed back. “We just need to catch up to Sango and Miroku. I bet their wondering where we are.” Kagome said as she straightened her clothing and tried to steady her heartbeat.

Inuyasha hugged Kagome close to him and nuzzled his nose in the crook of her neck. She giggled and softly rubbed his ears. He purred and it tickled Kagome’s neck. She laughed even harder. Inuyasha laughed along with her.

When they finished their play fight, Inuyasha picked Kagome up and jumped down from the tree branch they were perched on. They straightened their clothing as they started walking in the direction of the creek. Kagome grabbed Inuyasha’s hand and smiled happily at him. He smiled back at her.

They walk in silence just enjoying each other’s company. As they walked down the path, they eventually saw Miroku and Sango walking ahead of them. Sango was draped over Miroku’s shoulder and holding hands.

‘Obviously she forgave him.’ Kagome thought. ‘He’s lucky he’s my friend.’ She giggled herself. Kagome giggled out loud as she pulled the hand of her hanyou to run up to their friends. He took a few steps then jumped in front of Kagome and lifted her onto his back to catch up faster to them.

“Hey guys!” Kagome waved and yelled to Sango and Miroku. The two turned and smiled at Kagome and Inuyasha. When Inuyasha and Kagome reached them, Inuyasha let Kagome down and held her hand once more. The group continued their quest to the creek while they laughed, joked and goofed off along the way. When Kagome realized how close they had gotten to the creek, she smiled really wide and said, “We’re almost there! It’s been so long since I’ve been here!” She started to run a little farther when they came to a clearing. When they saw the sight, they were rendered breathless.
