Chapter 11 Goodnight My Love

Kagome looked into his molten eyes as the tears returned to her eyes. “Y-you do Inuyasha?” She stuttered.

“Yes.” He said as he pulled her into a tighter hug. Her face pressed against his chest and his mouth was next to her ear. “I accept you Kagome.” He whispered into her ear. Kagome couldn’t help her shiver as he sent chills down her spine. Inuyasha felt her shiver and gently squeezed her petite form a little tighter. “I’ll always accept you.” He said softly. “So you really want me? You want to be with me?” He asked.

“Yes Inuyasha. I want to be with you for the rest of my life.” She said squeezing her new lover as tightly as she could.

Inuyasha was so happy at her words. He had finally found someone that accepted him for who he was and that he would spend the rest of his life with. How could he really get this perfect woman to love him?

He looked down at the woman in his arms and smiled. She looked back at him and giggled a little as she smiled back. “Oh! I almost forget!” She exclaimed as she pulled away. She took the necklace in both of her hands to unclasp the back. She held it open for Inuyasha to put it on. He turned his back to her and moved his hair out of the way. She reached around him and clasped it back together. Inuyasha let go of his hair and lightly shook it so it would take its natural place again. He turned back to her and looked down at the charm now around his neck. The necklace hit Inuyasha just right. It wasn’t too long and it wasn’t too short.

“It’s like it was made for you Inuyasha.” Kagome told him as tears welled up in her eyes. Her parents gave her that necklace for the purpose that had just been fulfilled today. Inuyasha filled its purpose. He was her Inuyasha.

Inuyasha saw the tears and leaned in towards Kagome. He bent down to eye level and looked her in the eyes. She looked into his eyes when she saw something else that caught her attention. Inuyasha’s dog ears were twitching on the top of his head. Kagome forgot why she was about to cry and started to giggle. She reached up and gently massaged his twitching ears.

Inuyasha was a little shocked at her reaction. When he felt her fingers massaging his ears, he closed his eyes because it felt so good. He slowly laid his head on her lap with his back flat on the log they were sitting on. Kagome smiled as he did this. She felt so much love for him that she wanted to make him feel that comfortable for the rest of his life. His chest started to rumble. Kagome thought it sounded like he was purring. She giggled again and continued her rubbing.

They sat there contently for about an hour. Inuyasha felt like he could fall asleep with her rubbing his ears. He resisted the urge so Kagome wouldn’t feel like she was sitting there alone. He opened his eyes to see Kagome looking at him. When she saw he was watching her she blushed and turned away. For a moment, she stopped rubbing his ears.

Inuyasha sat up and faced her. “Kagome is something the matter?” He asked her.

“I’m sorry Inuyasha. I didn’t mean to stare.” She told him blushing again. She still wasn’t looking at him.

“Kagome, you don’t have to apologize. It’s alright.” He replied to her as he reached over and gently grabbed her hand. “I don’t mind.” He said quietly and blushed right along with her.

Kagome heard what he said and turned back to look at him. He turned to see what her reaction was. She was just staring at him smiling. He smiled back. “Hey, we’ve been gone for a while now. Maybe we should head back. Kaede might be worried.” Kagome said as she stood up. Inuyasha just nodded and stood up alongside her. Inuyasha and Kagome hadn’t really noticed how late it was getting. The sun was almost all the way set and the stars were beginning to appear in the early night sky.

As they started walking back to the house, Inuyasha laced his fingers into hers. She smiled at him and squeezed his hand lightly. They held hands the whole way back. When they reached Kaede’s house, Kagome put her hands on Inuyasha’s shoulders and got on her tippy toes and gave him a quick kiss. She skipped towards the front door as Inuyasha followed closely behind her. He smiled at her girlish behavior. This is what he wanted to bring her. Her happiness meant the world to him.

When they walked inside, they found Kaede telling Sango and Miroku stories of her adventures when she was their age. Kagome rolled her eyes. She had heard these stories a million times when she lived with the older woman.

She turned her head to look back at Inuyasha. He was right behind her, close enough for her to touch him. She wanted to touch him so badly. Inuyasha saw her pleading eyes. He wrapped his arm around her waist and smiled at her. She smiled in contentment back at him. He was so perfect for her. She would never want anyone more than she wanted him.

Kaede finished her story and looked towards Kagome and Inuyasha. She saw his arm around her waist and smiled. ‘They finally figured it out.’ Kaede thought to herself. She stood up and walked over to them.

“You two must be tired from your long walk. Let me show you to your room.” Kaede said and she started walking to one of the guest bedrooms. Kagome and Inuyasha followed her. The room was the same one that Kagome used when she lived here. It wasn’t huge but it was cozy. There was a full size bed with a nightstand next to it that was right underneath the small window. She had a dresser sitting between the closet and the door. There was also a small desk on the other side of the closet against the adjacent wall.

Inuyasha walked into the room and was hit with Kagome’s scent. It was so strong it almost knocked him over. He knew without being told that she had lived in this room before. ‘Why else would her scent be so strong in here?’ He thought. Even though it was over powering, it still comforted him. He squeezed Kagome’s waist lightly. She looked up at him and smiled. Kaede walked ahead of the couple and walked up to the closet. She opened it and took out a few blankets. She placed them on the bed and turned to Kagome and Inuyasha.

“Kagome, this was your room back then and it is yours now. Inuyasha, I’m sure you don’t mind sharing a room with Kagome, do ye?” Kaede asked the hanyou.

“I don’t mind.” He said as he looked at Kagome. “Only if it’s okay with you.” He told Kagome.

“I sleep better when you’re around anyways.” She said with a smile. She reluctantly walked out of Inuyasha’s grasp and walked over to Kaede. “Thank you so much for everything!” Kagome said as she hugged her teacher.

Kaede hugged her back. “None of it is a problem. I enjoy all of your company!” She said with a laugh. “Sango and Miroku have only been up for a little while so they will probably go to bed in a bit. I’ll be retiring to bed soon. There’s been a lot of excitement today!” She said as she walked over to the door. “I will see you two in the morning then!” She said.

“Good night Kaede!” Kagome exclaimed in excitement.

“Good night.” Inuyasha told the older woman.

“Good night to the two of you.” She replied to them as she turned and walked out the door. She closed it behind her.

Kagome watched as the woman closed the door then turned to Inuyasha. She walked up to him and put her hands on each of his shoulders. She reached on her tip toes to kiss him but he met her in the middle. She stood flat foot again as they kissed.

Kagome’s tongue entered Inuyasha’s mouth and touched his. Their tongues began to dance in each other’s mouths. Inuyasha felt tingles going up and down his back. He put one hand on her lower back and the other laced in her raven black hair. Inuyasha’s lips separated from Kagome’s and traced her jaw bone down to her neck.

He lifted her into his arms as he continued down her neck. Kagome moaned lightly in pleasure. Her arousal sparked at his touch. Inuyasha smelt her arousal and his chest rumbled from his growl. He was starting to lose his control.

‘Take her. Take her now. She likes it. She wants it. Take her!’ Inuyasha’s demon yelled in his head.

‘No, you don’t want to ruin your relationship with her. Keep control of yourself.’ His human half argued.

Inuyasha sat Kagome back down on her feet. He moved his lips back up to hers. He gave her a gentle peck and lifted his head away. “Kagome, I have to stop for now.” Inuyasha told her as he reluctantly broke the kiss. He could tell Kagome was reluctant too because she came towards him slightly when he back up. She bit her lip and closed her eyes as she absorbed the moment they had just shared. Inuyasha tried to ignore the scent of his lover’s arousal that had sparked mere moments ago.

Kagome finally returned to reality and looked at Inuyasha. “It’s okay.” She told him.

“Are you tired? It’s getting late.” Inuyasha asked her. Kagome put on her sweet smile that he loved.

“Yeah. Let’s go to bed sweetheart.” She replied. Inuyasha had only been called sweetheart by his mother years ago. He was glad she was already calling him by pet names though. He liked when she called him sweetheart. They would be together forever and they both knew it. He smiled down at the woman in his arms.

Faster than she could process it, he lifted her bridal style and laid her on the bed. She squeaked in surprise. He was laying over her and his hair was like a certain surrounding their faces. The memories of the hot springs flooded back to them. Inuyasha remembered seeing the perfect curves of her naked body. His pants started to tighten and he tightened his grip on her. He was losing his control again. He needed to get a hold of himself. He couldn’t be losing control every time he was around Kagome.

Kagome thought of how he had saved her life earlier that same day. He had saved her twice in two days. She knew he would protect her forever as best as he could. She reached up and grazed her hand along his cheek. He pushed his cheek into her touch. He loved feeling her warmth. She leaned up and kissed his lips gently, but only for a second. She didn’t want to push his boundaries. He leaned down and gave her a light kiss just as she did. They smiled at each other and Inuyasha rolled over and wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her into him. They were lying facing one another gazing into the other’s eyes.

Kagome decided she was too tired to keep her eyes open. She kissed him one last time. “Goodnight my love. I really need some sleep.” She said as a yawn followed.

“Goodnight Kagome. Sweet dreams.” He said as they both dozed off into a deep sleep in each other’s arms.
