Sighing sadly the hanyou cupped the miko's cheek. “Kagome, please forgive me. Please?” A tear rolled silently down her cold, numb cheek, as she shook her head.

“I can't Inuyasha…” She said softly, her breath coming out in clouds of white. The only light they had was the crescent moon, as they stood near the swings in the old park. “I wish I could…but what you did was unforgivable…” More tears escaped her chocolate hues, and he used his thumb to wipe them away.

“You don't understand. You really don't understand how much I need you to forgive me.” His beautiful amber orbs, were filled with guilt and sadness, as he shook his head. “Kagome…please…?”

“No!” She screamed into the darkness, finally snapping. “You said you loved me! You said you cared! If that was true why did you go off with Kikyou?! Why can't people know?! Because you are popular and rich, and I am a geek with no money?!”

“That's not it! I do love you! I love you with all my heart. When I'm not with you I feel a piece of me is missing…and it is. Without you I am incomplete. Without you I am nothing. I went off with Kikyou because I am stupid…” He sighed softly to himself. “I guess I don't deserve you then.” Pressing his lips against her's one last time he mumbled against them, “Maybe it's better this way…” With that he turned and walked away, his head hung. As if on cue the sky started to cry the tears he wouldn't.

Kagome wanted to tell him she forgave him. Wanted to tell him she loved him too. She couldn't though, what if he went with Kikyou again? No. She couldn't take that heartbreak again. She watched him leave, as the rain soaked her. Part of her said `Go after him.' While the other part argued, `No, he betrayed you!' “Yeah…maybe it is better this way…” She said, as she brought her hands to her lips.

<>2 MONTHS LATER<>

The hanyou wasn't bitter anymore. He knew what him and Kagome had had was real. He, of course, still loved her, but all she saw him as was a piece of scum. He occasionally saw her. She looked happy, and that was all that mattered to him. The only thing he had a problem with was her new boyfriend. Kouga.

Walking up the steps of his father's mansion, Inuyasha made his way up to his room. As he saw his two bestfriend's. “What are you two doing here?” He asked. Sango and Miroku. They were the bestfriend's you could possibly ask for. Inuyasha was feeling pretty crappy, and in no mood to talk.

“We want to get you and Kagome back together, True love can never be broken.” Sango said cheerfully, as Miroku nodded. “We think you two belong together. We hate it that you guys broke up.” Sango sighed sadly. “Why did you break up anyway? You never told us.”

“Because I am a total ass.” Inuyasha shook his head. “We are never getting back together. She has a boyfriend and I don't even deserve her.”

“Why don't you deserve her?” Miroku questioned, raising a brow. They all knew Inuyasha loved Kagome. He had said before he was never going to let her go. He lied…

“She is smart, beautiful, kind, and loving. While I am stupid, ugly, mean, and…stupid. I went out and I cheated on her after I promised I would never hurt her.” Inuyasha chuckled to himself. “I went out and hurt her Miroku…and now she is gone. Damn…I hate myself…”

“I hate you too,” Came a dark voice, but then everything stopped. BAM! Whoever was behind him shot him in the back of the head. Everything went black, as he heard Sango scream. His ocher orbs closed as he fell to the ground. Pain shot thorugh his body as he blacked out.

“K-Kagome!” Inuyasha cried opening his eyes. Bad idea. He closed them again. Everything around him was bright. He was in a…hospital? After awhile he opened them again and looked around. Kagome head rested at the end of the bed. Soon she raised her head slightly. There were dark circles under her eyes and her face was tear stained.

“Inuyasha…” She mumbled letting more tears fill her chocolate hues. “Are you okay?” She managed to ask before breaking into a sob and tackling him into a hug. She sobbed into his chest. He winced as his head was jerked. “I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I forgive you! I should have forgiven you in the first place! I'm sorry!” He raised a clawed hand and ran in through her silky raven hair.

“It's okay…” He said in a hoarse voice. “You're not the one who she be sorry. I am. I never should have did any of the things I did. I said I loved you…but didn't like it. But….just to let you know. I did Kagome, I truly loved you.”

`But he doesn't love me anymore…' Kagome thought sadly, as her crying ceased. “Do…you still…love me?” She asked a bit hesitantly.

“With all my heart. Everyday after we broke up all I could think about was you. I hated myself…” He mumbled and inhaled her sweet jasmine scent.

“Inuyasha…I love you so much…” She mumbled into his chest.

“What about Kouga?”

“It was over after he shot you in the head…” Kagome mumbled with a sigh. “I told him what you did to me and he went after you. He's in jail now…I'm sorry Inuyasha…I really am.”

“Kagome it's not your fault,” Inuyasha said. “Just come here.” He motioned for her to scoot up closer. She did as he said, and as soon as she got close enough, his lips crashed into her's.

Inu no Tashou and Inuyasha's mother walked in. His father cleared his throat and Kagome shot up quickly, blushing. Inuyasha just grinned as his mother giggled.

“I love `er dad,” Inuyasha shrugged.
