Chapter 14

Inu-Yasha did not hear the screams of his friends. He ran straight into Naraku's castle to save the women he loved.

Once inside the castle he saw Kagome sitting next to Sesshomaru.

"Sesshomaru, give Kagome back to me now, or I will not hesitate to kill you."

"Ha ha ha! Little brother, who is going to be killing who here? Kagome belongs to us now. She doesn't even want to come back to you, can't you tell? Isn't it a little odd that she isn't screaming for you to come get her? She's sitting here on her own free will."

"No, I don't believe you! Kagome would never go to the dark side. Even if she hated me, she wouldn't do it. And when I find out what you did to her I'll kill you!"

Just as Inu-Yasha was about to lunge at Sesshomaru Kagome spoke.

"Inu-Yasha, the truth is I do not want to be with you anymore. I have decided to help Naraku collect the jewel shards. Give me the ones you have now, and there won't be any trouble here."

"Ka…gome? What's wrong? What did they do to you?"

"This is the real Kagome Inu-Yasha. I don't want to loose and we were loosing. So just hand over the jewel shards or I'll have to kill you."

"Kagome…"

"So you're not going to hand them over then? Fine, have it your way. I'll just have to kill you then, good-bye Inu-Yasha."

Kagome pulled an arrow out of the bag on her back and loaded up the bow, but instead of shooting the arrow at Inu-Yasha, she shot it at Sesshomaru.

As soon as Sesshomaru realized what was happening he moved out of the way.

"Stupid girl, do you really think I would have just sat here and let you kill me?"

"Who is the stupid one here Sesshomaru? Do you really think I can be controlled by the sacred jewel?"

Sesshomaru leaped at Kagome and punched her in the face, sending her backwards into a wall unconscious.

"Sesshomaru! I have had enough of these games. You took Kagome from me, tried to influence her to kill me, and now you hit her. This is where it ends. Draw your sword and prepare to die!"

While Inu-Yasha and Sesshomaru fought Sango and Miroku came in to check on their friends.

"Kagome? Are you ok? Please talk to us! Kagome?"

"Sa…Sango? Is that you?"

"Yeah, what happened?"

Sesshomaru and Naraku tried to control me with 2 fragments of the sacred jewel but failed. I tried to play along with it until I went to shoot my arrow at Inu-Yasha and fired it at Sesshomaru, but since he's so fast, he dodged it and it me into the wall."

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, and I even managed to get the two shards out of my forehead. But I'm worried about Inu-Yasha right now. How is he doing?"

Sango and Miroku looked at each other before answering.

"Uhhh…Kagome, he's loosing. He's getting pretty beat up. The jewel shards are really giving Sesshomaru a lot of extra power."

When Kagome turned around to look at the battle she saw that Inu-Yasha had let go of the tetsusaiga and was lying on the floor on his stomach.

"Sango, you have to get Inu-Yasha his sword back…he'll transform if he lets it go!"

"Kagome…we're too late."
