This is the second (not including prologue) installment of True Love. I hope that you enjoy it. Please review, I really would like to know what you think. Anyway on with the story for it shall continue.

~~__~~ True Love Chapter 2 ~~__~~

She no longer wore the sailor fuku that was indecent for this time period. Now she wore a light blue Miko top with a matching dark blue skirt that skimmed the ground as she walked. The skirt had slits going to mid thigh and she wore black skin tight pants underneath it to move better, without being constricted. Her two swords, which she named, Cheika and Gantaroo, lay in an `X' across her back.

As she placed the dagger, which she received as a gift from her mother, on her thigh and tied it there, she had a feeling that she was being watched. She knew that he would be there, and that he would come out of the shadows without her prompting him.

“You might as well come out Sesshoumaru. I know that you are there.” Kagome smiled as he jumped out of the tree in front of her, with a somewhat shocked face. Well slight widening of his eyes, really couldn't be considered shocked but for him it was something. He had thought that he snuck up on her this time, but he had obviously underestimated her again, something that he was beginning to become slightly annoyed with.

Sesshoumaru was sitting in a tree watching the miko bathe. `Good she is back now this Sesshoumaru can use her to get Tetsusaiga.' He smirked as he thought of the plan that he made to get his father's fang from that disgrace to his blood line. `Kami she is beautiful… WHAT THE!!! Where did that come from? She is not beautiful, she is ningen.' He was pulled from his thoughts when he heard her speak.

“You might as well come out Sesshoumaru. I know that you are there.” Kagome stated. She watched him jump out of the tree that he was in. `So once again she could sense me when I masked my scent and jyaki. Ah, I see that she has regained her will to live. At least things will be more interesting.'

“So I see that you still do not fear me wench. Either you think you are a match for me, or you are foolish. This Sesshoumaru believes that you are the latter, especially if you think that you have a chance against me; Sesshoumaru, Lord of the Western Lands.” He smirked as he saw her shake from the rage that was coursing through her system. However, he soon had his emotionless mask back in place.

`Who does he think he is? I want to hit him so bad to wipe that smug look off his face. Breathe Kagome breathe calm down. Woo saa that's it.' Kagome thought, she quickly stopped shaking from anger to look directly into his eyes.

“What are you doing here Sesshoumaru? Do you plan to kidnap me for Tetsusaiga? If you have not noticed the lack thereof of Inuyasha, you would know that I no longer travel with him or my old group of friends, except for the kit. I warn you now, touch him and you will feel a wrath so bad that Naraku will look like a walk in the park. I have trained and though I may not be as strong as you, but if you touch him in one way that I deem as inappropriate I will hunt you down and kill you. Well, until next time.” With that she turned around and headed towards the village of Edo near the bone eaters well.

`When did she get so fast? She is faster than Inuyasha, maybe even as fast as I am. I wonder what she meant by until we meet again, she is up to something, and this Sesshoumaru knows it. I had better stay alert.' With that he sprinted away from the hot springs.

As he ran back toward his castle he could not help but notice how much she had changed in the time that she was gone. The first time he had met her had been to get his father's fang. Alternatively, how she had de-transformed Tetsusaiga. However, the last time he had seen her had… dare he say, frightened him? `No, it could not be I, Lord of the Western Lands, afraid for a ningen. Well maybe a little, she didn't care if she died.'

She ran to Kaede's in hopes that everyone would be asleep; however, the only person awake was the one that she was there for. “Shippo what are you doing awake? You should be asleep.” Kagome said with a smile, she would always smile for him.

“Kagome, you're back! I was beginning to think that you forgot your promise to come back for me.” Shippo cried as he launched himself at her.

“Shhhh, Shippo I do not wish to wake everyone up. Moreover, I would never forget you, you are my kit. I am here to get you and leave a note for the others to tell them that I am fine and will be taking you and continuing the search just the two of us. That is if you want to come with me.” Kagome asked with hope shining in her eyes, she really didn't want to be without her kit. She loved him as though he were from her own womb.

“Of course I'll go with you; you're like a mom to me. Oh, while you were gone Kikyo joined the group about two weeks after you left. Since I'll be with you can I call you Okaa-san?” Shippo asked as he snuggled deeper into her stomach.

“Sure, I would be most honored if you did.” Kagome giggled as he buried deeper, `it tickles!' “Come on Shippo, we need to hurry. I think Inuyasha caught my scent somehow and is coming. I need to get out of here before he returns.” Kagome sighed as she thought about Inuyasha. She knew Kikyo would join the group when she left, it was only a matter of time before it happened anyway.

“But Kaa-san what about the others, don't you want them to come too?” Shippo asked getting tired, her scent was so soothing.

“Yes Shippo very much, but they won't be able to travel as fast as me even with Kirara. You see my sensei was a Youkai so I learned a lot. I am no longer the `weak human' Inuyasha thought of me as.” Kagome stated as she finished writing the note. Shippo was casually balanced on one arm as she wrote her note. She folded the parchment and placed it on the small table in the hut for everyone to find. “It's time to go Shippo.”

He could smell her delightful scent. He knew that she was back, and after six months he had something he wanted to tell her. After bringing Kikyo into the group he had realized that he loved her. He loved Higurashi Kagome, girl from the future. Now he was going to make sure that she knew it. `But what if she doesn't love me back?' That question kept running through his mind as he sped back to Kaede's hut. As he got to the edge of the forest he saw a blue blur leaving Kaede's, and going the opposite direction.

He didn't chase it to see who it was; he was too focused on finding Kagome. `Hmmm I can't smell it, eh who cares I just want to find her. But why did it come out of Kaede's….' As he got to Kaede's and entered he saw a piece of paper on the table, picking it up he read it.

`Dear Sango, Miroku, Kaede, and Inuyasha,

Do not worry about myself and Shippo we shall be fine. I have continued for the search on my own with the exception of my kit.

He has informed me that Kikyo has joined the group; I hope that you are happy Inuyasha. I'll see you all at the final battle against Naraku.

Higurashi Kagome.'

Kagome ran from the hut as fast as she could with Shippo in her arms. He had dozed off but was startled awake by a howl that was heard from the direction of the village.

“Kaa-san, did you hear that?” Shippo asked as he started to drift back to sleep.

“Hai Shippo, it seems as though Inuyasha has found my note and didn't take the news to well.” Kagome told Shippo. “We must hurry or he could catch up; I think he was at the edge of the forest when we left.” With that she jumped into the branches of trees and became a faster blur than before.

“Wow you're fast! I bet you're almost as fast as Sesshoumaru.” Piped Shippo from the spot in Kagome's arms, and he soon drifted back to sleep.

“Inuyasha, what's wrong with you? You woke the whole village with your howling.” Said the very tired and very angry demon exterminator.

“She came back, took Shippo and left. AGAIN! She went to finish gathering shards by herself. Alone. She could be in danger, and I can't smell either of them. I came back cause I caught a little bit of her scent but when I got here I saw a blue blur leaving the hut and I couldn't catch it's scent.” With that said Inuyasha trailed off. `It couldn't have been her; it was almost as fast as Sesshoumaru.' When he came back from his thoughts he looked around and noticed the previously angry exterminator had a confused look on her face, the once again sleeping monk, and an old miko reflecting on what he said.

*Kaede's Flashback*

Before Kagome left she stopped by to say her farewell to the old miko that was like a grandmother to her. “Hello Kaede. I am going back to my time to train. I don't know how long I will be away, but I'll come back and visit one day. Thank you for all your help.”

“I wish ye luck my child, come back soon.” With that Kagome left the hut to go to the well.

*end Flashback*

“Where will she go? What will she do, we are all that she has besides her family in the future. She could get killed.” Cried Sango, who was worried for the welfare of the one which she, considered her little sister.

Kaede made some tea for Sango, in which she mixed in some sleeping herbs to help her relax. Inuyasha stormed out of the hut when Sango began to cry. He needed time to think and get away from Kikyo because she wouldn't leave him alone and she smelled awful. Inuyasha made his way to the Goshinboku and sat in one of the higher branches. `I wonder why she would continue on by herself. I did say that I would protect her.'

*Flashback*

"Yes Shippo it does. I am leaving so that I may train to become stronger, and no longer have to rely on Inuyasha." She said looking down at her kit.

*End Flashback*

He sighed as he remembered the day that she left to her time to train. The day had started out bad; it had started with him falling out of the tree and ended with Kouga. During the day Kagome had been getting a lot of attention; more so than usual due to her short skirt from the future. What had gotten him so mad was that they were daring to look at something that wasn't theirs, though he would never say that aloud to anyone. Later on during mid day he had a verbal spar with his `I'm going to kill you half-breed' older brother. The only reason that they didn't have a full out fight was because of the little girl that followed him around. Then Kouga had ended off his already bad day and made is worse.

*Flashback*

“Inuyasha there are 3 shards approaching us pretty fast.” Kagome said from her usual spot on the hanyou's back. As soon as she said that a whirl wind of dust came into the clearing that they were traveling through.

“Kouga” Inuyasha growled as he set Kagome down behind him.

“Give me my woman Inu-kuro” Kouga said as he started to walk towards Kagome.

“Please don't fight. Not now, Come on lets go Inuyasha.” Kagome pleaded trying to pull Inuyasha in the other direction. “Please.”

“Fine, come on wench.” Growled Inuyasha.

~.~Later that same day.

Inuyasha was sitting in a tree while the group rested below him. He knew they were in Sesshoumaru's lands because of the earlier altercation. He was on patrol when they saw him. He was on edge thinking that Sesshoumaru would find them and attack while they were relaxing.

“Inuyasha, I was wondering when we were going to be near Edo so I could go visit my family and pick up more supplies that we are running low on.” Kagome asked hoping that the Inu-hanyou wouldn't say no, because it would be her time of the month soon.

“Fine wench, but only for a day, we'll be swinging by there soon.” The inu-hanyou grumbled, and then he started to mumble about stupid wenches that constantly needed to go home, and how Kikyo would complete the task before needing to something so stupid.

Kagome who had heard everything that he said only stared in shock. “If you really feel that way Inuyasha then I'll just go off on my own.”

“Feh, you wouldn't, you need me to protect your worthless as wench otherwise you would have died by now.” He told her with an air of superiority.

“I will go train in my time, then I will no longer need you. “ With that said she walked off without her pack to clear her mind. She planned on getting it before she left for her time.

*End Flashback*
