Kagome had finished getting dress, and grabbed some peanut butter and a bag of Oreo's that she had. While dressing her mind wondered and it wasn't a good thing. Now she was even more depressed then when she had come back.
“Hey Sango could you come with me?” Kagome asked holding up the jar of peanut butter and a bag of Oreo's, once she had found Sango. “I need much comfort.”
“Comfort food?” Sango asked as they walked out of the hut. “I thought you said it was chicken soup?”
“Work with what you have.” Kagome said with a slight smile. “Besides its good, you'll like them.”
“Are these those Oreo things?” Sango asked as they sat down in the grass, in a field next to the village.
“Yup.” Kagome said with a grin as she opened the jar. “And this is peanut butter, very good on Oreo's.”
“Food, good food. Such a shame it takes so long for it to be discovered.” Sango said as she scooped out some peanut butter with the Oreo.
“I know what you mean, do you know how cheap it would be in this time and age.” Kagome said with a smile.
“So what's troubling you Kagome?” Sango said as Kagome stuffed an Oreo in her mouth.
“Inuyasha, home, among other things.” Kagome said around the Oreo.
“What other things?” Sango asked tilting her head to the side.
“I'll tell you when I choose to remember.” Kagome said sticking her finger in the peanut butter.
“Don't dread on the bad Kagome, we'll figure out something.” Sango said as she followed Kagome's suit.
“Like what?” Kagome said with a sigh, “Because we aren't going to pull a Kikyo and shoot him through the heart.”
“I know I wasn't going to even suggest it.” Sango said with a nod. “But we'll figure it out.”
“I'll figure it out.” Kagome said leaning back. “Dunno what I'll do but I'll do something.”
“Sango, Kaede needs you.” Miroku said coming up.
“I'm coming.” Sango said standing up.
“Hey Sango could you take this with you, I'm going to stick around for a while.” Kagome said holding out the bag and the jar.
“Childish…” Sango said shaking her head taking the stuff.
“Thank you Sango.” Kagome said in a singsong way smiling at her.
“No problem.” Sango said as she followed after Miroku.
Kagome fell back and started singing to her self, “When I think about my life I wonder if I will survive to live to see in 25 or will I just fall? Like all my friends, they just keep dying people 'round me always crying in this place that I like to call my home…”
“Home eh?” Inuyasha said from beside her. “That was meant for a guy to sing, huh?”
Kagome yelped sitting up, and blushed at the fact that she was caught singing.
“Well?” Inuyasha asked lying down with his arms under his head.
“He seems like he's himself…” Kagome thought before saying, “Yeah home…and yes it was meant for a guy to sing, how'd you know?”
“Just sounded obvious.” Inuyasha said closing his eyes a smirk planted on his face.
“Now if only he'd stay like that…I could believe that his eyes were gold, and we weren't done the shard hunt.” Kagome thought before looking a head of her. She said with out thinking, “So is there something you need Inuyasha?”
“I was going to play with you, but I think I'll just enjoy your company.” Inuyasha said looking at her, and sitting up.
Kagome looked at him a little strange before shaking her head and looking ahead.
Inuyasha looked ahead trying to see what she was looking at, but then snorted and asked, “What are you looking at?”
“Nothing special.” Kagome said shaking her head.
“It has to be at least mildly interesting otherwise you wouldn't look at it.” Inuyasha insisted.
“I'm just looking at what's in front of me.” Kagome said waving her hand out in front of her. “And it's nothing special.”
Inuyasha nodded and stood up. “Whatever.” Inuyasha said as he started walking. “Come on.”
Kagome snorted and staid seated.
“Kagome let's go, now!” Inuyasha growled over his shoulder.
Kagome just sighed and got up following him. “The Inuyasha I knew would have just come back and tried to get me to come by whining at me, and saying feh…This one expects me to obey his every command…because he knows I will.” “Where are we going?”
“Just shut up and follow me.” Inuyasha said as he kept walking. “I have no intention to sit around and let you feel sorry for yourself. You'll be no fun to play with.”
“How considerate of you.” Kagome said sarcastically. “I feel so loved…”
Inuyasha just glared over his shoulder at her. “Don't start.”
“What, I'm not here to be your play thing.” Kagome grumbled at him. Then she shook her head. “That sounded wrong in my head.”
“Then stick with calling yourself a mouse.” Inuyasha said as they made it into the forest, and he stopped. “Because that's exactly what you are. It's a game of cat and mouse, also make a comment on that and you won't be walking out of this forest.”
“Figures that he'd watched me.” Kagome stood there stretching and asked, “So how much of a head start do I receive, oh masterful one.”
“Because of the smart remark you get twenty seconds after I say go, but I'll cut down on the speed, because if I didn't it would be no fun for me.” Inuyasha said looking at her.
“Fine…” Kagome mumbled.
“Go…” Inuyasha said, and she took off running.
“I can't believe this…He's worse then Souta when we play tag! But of course I'm positive that Souta wouldn't be chasing me around the Feudal era.” Kagome thought as she took a sharp right and started that way, and then took a left. With any luck he would be going on her sent, and it would confuse the hell out of him. “He's a demon what the hell am I thinking! I'm wasting time! Where's the river?”
Kagome looked over her shoulder; she could hear him somewhere behind her. Kagome ran out into a clearing and because some one up there loved her she knew where she was. The river was just up ahead. Kagome stepped on a twig hurting her foot. “Damn me for not wearing shoes…” Kagome whispered forcefully to her self as she kept going.
This was unfair in her books. Now he probably could see a trail, not to mention smell her even better. Her foot was bleeding. “Of all the times…” Kagome thought as she kept going. “Thank you…” Kagome breathed as she reached the river.
With any luck if she managed to run this way and not get caught she could make it to that lake, and she could just swim across, thoroughly confusing even his sense of smell. For good measure she walked got in the river moving always a little then got out.
She had to be crazy; this was just making her trip harder, even though she didn't see him at all. After a few minutes Kagome made it to the lake. “Maybe I lost him…” Kagome thought as she looked behind her then at the lake, hoping she wouldn't have to get in the freezing water.
“Hey there…” Inuyasha said from behind her, his sudden arrival causing her to fall in anyway.
“I hate you…” Kagome said as her teeth chattered, and she stood up.
“I'm sure you do.” Inuyasha said with a triumphant grin. “I win.”
“And in what way would I have even had a chance of winning?” Kagome asked as she rung out the bottom of her pants.
“I dunno…” Inuyasha said smiling evilly, putting his finger to his lips. “Never thought of it.”
“Cheater.” Kagome grumbled, or at least tried to, she was still shivering.
“My game, I can't cheat.” Inuyasha grinned. “You on the other hand you almost had me with the getting in the river.”
“Really?” Kagome asked hopefully.
“Yeah, if you hadn't cut your foot, and had gotten out on the other side of the river.” Inuyasha said as he sat down and motioned for her to take one next to him.
“Oh…” Kagome said as she sat down putting her injured foot out in front of her.
Inuyasha nose twitched and he said, “Aren't you going to look at that?”
Kagome moved up a little and stuck it in the water. “Yeah.” Kagome said as she pulled it out and looked at her foot. There was a rather small cut and it wasn't that deep, but it hurt like hell, she had gotten one like it when she stepped on one of Souta's plastic toy guns. Kagome sighed and put her foot back in the river lightly shaking it before pulling it out and taking the end of her pant leg and putting it over her foot before putting pressure on the cut.
“You're stronger then most…” Inuyasha mumbled to himself laying back.
Kagome looked over at him, and went to ask him what he meant when she was cut off by a whirlwind.
“Hi Kouga.” Inuyasha said calmly not even opening his eyes.
“What has he done to you?!” Kouga asked as he looked down at Kagome then glared over at Inuyasha. “What did you do, you moron?!”
“I haven't done anything to cause her any physical harm; she did that all on her own.” Inuyasha said sitting up and looking at Kouga with a grin.
“W-what'd you do to your self?” Kouga asked glaring at the red eyed Inuyasha.
“I'm a full-blooded demon, you moron.” Inuyasha said throwing Kouga's own words down his throat.
“Come on Kagome, I'm taking you with me.” Kouga said as he turned back to her, and kneeled down.
“Don't touch her.” Inuyasha said from his spot standing behind him.
“I'll do what I please!” Kouga growled back at him.
“It's not smart to mess with me now Kouga.” Inuyasha said grabbing Kouga by the back of the neck and lifting him of the ground.
“No Inuyasha put him down!” Kagome yelled as she got to her feet.
Inuyasha merely glared at her and asked, “Do you love him?”
“No of course not.” Kagome said shaking her head. “But put him down none the less.”
“Hear that wolf? She doesn't love you.” Inuyasha growled in his ear. “So back the hell off.”
Kouga nodded slowly.
Inuyasha put him down and growled, “Get going. Unless she wants to go with you, then by all means take her, for now that is.”
“Kagome?”
“I'm staying here.” Kagome said shaking her head.
“Leave.” Inuyasha said shortly.
Kouga nodded and walked off.
Kagome messed with the hem of her sleeve under his intense stare. “What?”
“You look ridiculous in that outfit.” Inuyasha said as he walked up to her. “That and why didn't you go with him?”
“If I had he probably would have done something stupid, and even though I don't love him I don't want to see his head on a post.”
“Where did you get such an idea?” Inuyasha asked. “A head on a post?”
“Some vampire thing on T.V.” Kagome said as he circled her.
“T.V. is that thing with the moving pictures right?” Inuyasha asked as he stopped in front of her.
“Yes…What's wrong with my outfit?” Kagome asked feeling really uncomfortable.
“You look like you have no stomach.” Inuyasha said finally.
“It does not look like that!” Kagome said looking down at her self.
“Would you pay attention?” Inuyasha said as he tilted her head back up to look at him. “My pants start here.” Inuyasha said pointing at his waist and adjusting her line of vision to look. Then he let go of her and poked her saying, “Yours start here.”
“Don't touch me.” Kagome said backing away from him.
“Fine, but what I say is true.” Inuyasha said sitting down. “I've always thought so, but you're the only one it really bugs me on.”
Kagome looked down and realized this was indeed the case, and she had thought so too. She had mentioned it once to Kaede, when she had to wear the miko garbs when her outfit was dirty. Kaede said that if it bothered her, she would get a pair of pants that the men wore. That was what she would have to do, because now this was indeed bugging her.
“Just sit.” Inuyasha said looking up at her.
“It's your fault…” Kagome said sitting down.
“You didn't have to listen.” Inuyasha said gruffly.
“You poked me.” Kagome said glaring at him.
“Oh I've done worse.” Inuyasha said smirking at her, “And those time's I didn't touch you.”
Kagome blushed and looked away from him muttering, “Hentia.”
“And proud.” Inuyasha said with a chuckle. “Come on after the first time you caught me I felt like saying “It's not like I haven't seen it all before” but then I would have been sat.”
“I knew I shouldn't have let you watch that movie with Souta and me.” Kagome said glaring at him. “Thank Kami I put my foot down when he wanted to buy you that shirt that said “Hentia and Proud” because that's just crossing the line.”
“Come to think of it, that would have been really good for you to wear as a night shirt here; it was just big enough to cover everything on you.” Inuyasha said with a grin.
“Are you kidding me? Miroku would have had a heart attack.” Kagome said shaking her head. “And you're jaw would have detached so it really could hit the ground.”
“I'm sure I would have.” Inuyasha said with a nod.
“So what's changed?” Kagome asked looking at him curiously.
“Don't have my human blood in the way of my demon instincts.” Inuyasha said with a shrug. “I'll take you home.” Inuyasha said standing up.
“Ok.” Kagome said standing up and dusting off the back of her pants.
“Which home am I taking you too?” Inuyasha asked as he knelt down and Kagome got on his back.
“I get a choice?” Kagome asked.
“Yeah but if we go to your era I'm staying with you till you come back.” Inuyasha said as he started running through the forest.
“Then let's go to my era.” Kagome said giving him a light squeeze in a hugging gesture.
“So how are you going to explain me to you're mother?” Inuyasha asked flicking his ear away from her hand.
“You became a full demon, and you're perfectly sane.” Kagome said capturing the furry appendage that she was infatuated with. “It's not a lie, you are sane, but we'll leave the fact that you don't like us out.”
“Can you ever occupy your hands with something other then my ears?” Inuyasha asked as they came to a stop at the well.
“I'm sorry but they're cute.” Kagome said as she stopped rubbing his ear, and slipped off his back.
“I see.” Inuyasha said taking her hand and jumping in with her.
