[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Once on the other side of the well Inuyasha picked Kagome up and jumped out of the well. Kagome walked into the house first to discover that no one was home, and that there was a note on the table.
Kagome,
We decided that you might be gone for a while seeing as you showed no sign of coming home after taking so many supplies, and now that you've graduated, so we're down at the beach we'll be back on Friday the 20th.
Love
Mom, Souta, and Grandpa
“I guess we get the place to ourselves…” Kagome said as she put the note down. “They won't be back…” Kagome trailed off finding the digital clock in the living room and pressing the bottom causing it to say the date. “For a week…”
“So you want to go back and tell your friends that you'll be back in…two weeks?” Inuyasha said after thinking about the last part.
“Ok…” Kagome said nodding.
“It'd be faster if I went.” Inuyasha said as he went to the door. “No reason in wasting your time, besides your foot needs tending to.”
“Ok…could you get my bag?”
“Sure.” Inuyasha said before shutting the door and disappearing from sight.
Kagome walked upstairs to her room and threw her clothes on the floor near the closet as she search for a Band-Aid around her desk. The box should still be in here somewhere. “Where is it?” Kagome said as she looked around a stack of books. “Found them.” Kagome grabbed the box sitting on the bed before putting one on her foot.
“You had to get undressed to put a Band-Aid on.” Inuyasha asked.
“Get out!” Kagome yelled putting her arms over her chest. She was in her underwear but still.
“It's not like I haven't seen it all before.” Inuyasha said with a grin before he turned around and headed downstairs.
“Jerk…” Kagome grumbled as she shut the door.
Kagome walked downstairs in a baggie black top and some jean short shorts, and in her hands was a basket of dirty clothes. “Make yourself comfortable, you don't want to stand around for the next two weeks do you?”
“Where are you going?” Inuyasha asked as he followed her down the hall.
“To throw my clothes in the wash.” Kagome said as she stopped at the washing machine. “Go sit down, I'll be right there.”
“Fine…” Inuyasha grumbled as he walked back into the living room.
Kagome shook her head and threw her jeans and dark tops in the wash. “At least I think that's what mom told me to wash together…” Kagome thought to herself as she put in the detergent and turned on the washing machine. “I have no idea what we're going to do for this week alone, but I'm sure we can think of something.” Kagome said as she came out and sat next to him on the couch. “If you want to go for a walk, I think mama bought you some clothes.”
“Then let's go for a walk.” Inuyasha said standing up.
“Ok…” Kagome said standing up and starting for the stairs. “Come with me.”
Inuyasha followed her up stairs and into her room.
“Here you go.” Kagome said handing him a pair of baggie jeans and a red top that said demon. “Just call if you need some help.”
Kagome left the room and slid down the wall next to the door, expecting this to take a while. Two minutes later Inuyasha walked out dressed perfectly. “Cool.”
“You thought I'd be completely helpless, huh?” Inuyasha asked with an arrogant smirk.
“Kinda.” Kagome said as she stood up. “But then again, it's just common sense to how you put on a pair of jeans.”
“So what about shoes?” Inuyasha asked as he followed Kagome back downstairs. “The hat, my eyes, and my markings?”
Kagome went into the hall closet and pulled out a pair of black sandals and a pair of white sneakers, and threw a hat at Inuyasha. “The sandals are for you, seeing as I don't expect my sneakers to fit you. About you're eyes, people will just figure the contacts, and your markings could be tattoos and you're a punk.”
“I see…” Inuyasha said as he slipped the sandals on, and put the hat on.
Kagome smirked at him and said, “Flip the hat around…”
“Why?” Inuyasha asked his eyebrow raised questioningly.
“Just to see something is all.” Kagome said slipping the shoes on. “I think it'll look better that way.”
“Whatever.” Inuyasha said putting the hat on backwards. “Let's go.”
“Sure.” Kagome said grabbing the keys off the table.

“So how do you like everything?” Kagome asked as they headed down the street. They had been out all day and it was officially dark out.
“I got to admit your era is a good place to hang around in, and it has good food.” Inuyasha said as they turned down around the corner. “By no means would I want to stay though, it's too polluted.”
“Yeah it isn't as nice as the Feudal era, by any means.” Kagome said as they got to the stretch before the shrine.
“Kagome that you?!” A voice from behind them asked.
“Hi Hojo…” Kagome said turning around.
“Who's your friend?” Hojo asked as he eyed Inuyasha.
“His name's Inuyasha.” Kagome said as she smiled at Inuyasha, who looked annoyed.
“Hojo, nice to meet you.” Hojo said putting out his hand but put it down when Inuyasha merely looked at him. “Right…So Kagome I haven't seen you in a while.”
“Yeah not since school.” Kagome said with a shrug.
“Are you free tomorrow?” Hojo kind of blurted out.
“Sorry, I'm not.” Kagome said shaking her head.
“Can I talk to you alone?” Hojo asked taking a quick glance at Inuyasha.
“Just tell me.” Kagome said with a sigh. “He'll hear you anyway…”
“No, I'll just go stand up a head.” Inuyasha said smirking at Hojo his eyes shining in the moonlight.
When Inuyasha had stopped walking a good ways away Hojo turned to Kagome and asked, “Why are you hanging out with some one like that?”
“Hojo that's not like you.” Kagome said shaking her head.
“But come on I don't see you dating this guy, you got to admit he's…” Hojo trailed off when he caught a glimpse of Inuyasha, who in his opinion looked like he could hear what he was saying.
“I'm not dating him; I'm just hanging out with him.” Kagome said as she took a quick glance back at Inuyasha.
“I talked to Eri, apparently you are dating him.” Hojo said looking at Kagome with a hurt look.
“Eri and my friends drew their own conclusions, I'm not dating him.” Kagome said thinking, “Eri I'm going to get you for this!”
“Still, why don't you go on a date with me tomorrow?” Hojo asked pleadingly.
“Hojo, I have plans.” Kagome said shaking her head. “And I'm not going to change them because you don't like his tattoos and the color of his eyes.”
“That's really the color of his eyes?” Hojo asked in a shocked tone.
“No.” Kagome said quickly. “They're contacts.”
“He's just a punk.” Hojo said with a shrug.
“Look Hojo I don't care what he is.” Kagome said as she started walking away.
“Bu-“
“Back off Hojo, I don't have time for you.” Kagome said not even bothering to look back at him.
“That was an interesting conversation.” Inuyasha said when they started down the street again.
“He can be a pain sometimes.” Kagome said as they headed up the stairs to the shrine. “He means well, but sometimes he's just sickeningly nice.”
Inuyasha nodded and smirked at her.
“What?” Kagome asked once they reached the top of the stairs.
“Nothing.” Inuyasha said shaking his head. “Just curious to what your friends are going to do when that Hobo guy tells them that you ditched him for a “punk” which by the way what is a punk?”
“I'm sure they'll have a field day trying to assure him that I would never do such a thing, and that I was obligated to follow you around.” Kagome said the last part all girly, unlocking the door and walking in kicking off her shoes. “A punk is, well, they usually put on a tough act, or they're just plain tough, dress in baggie clothing. I don't know, people just know what they are if the choose to be it.”
“I see.” Inuyasha said as they went and sat on the couch.
“Yeah…” Kagome said as she searched for the remote. “I never really cared, I was never seen as anything, and if I was then it was by association.”
“Oh.” Inuyasha said as he stuffed the remote down the side of the couch, without Kagome noticing. “What are you looking for?”
“The remote…” Kagome said as she started searching in-between the cushions. “Could you look down your side of the couch?”
“No sorry.” Inuyasha said putting his hands behind his head.
“Fine, move over.” Kagome said sitting on her knees facing him.
“Don't feel like it.” Inuyasha said with a smirk.
“Fine.” Kagome said leaning over him. When she was about to grab the remote he grabbed her hand and moved her back so she was sitting on her knees.
“That's not nice.” Inuyasha said with a grin.
“Your point being?” Kagome asked quirking an eyebrow.
“You should be nicer to me.” Inuyasha said moving closer to her, bringing his lips closer to hers. “I hold your life and your heart in my hands.”
“You do not…” Kagome said trying not to back down.
“Really now?” Inuyasha questioned before licking her bottom lip. “Don't lie because you think I still love Kikyo, or you think I'll reject you. Kikyo's finally resting in peace, and you don't know what I'm thinking.”
Kagome sat back and tried to think up something to say to him.
Inuyasha growled in distaste and got up going to the door.
“Where are you going Inuyasha?” Kagome asked following after him.
“Going to tell Hojo to get the hell out of here.” Inuyasha said as he opened the door.
“Inuyasha he's not there though…” Kagome said as she followed him around the house. “Oh…” Kagome said when she found Inuyasha holding Hojo off the ground. “Inuyasha put him down…”
Inuyasha growled and glared back at her clearly telling her not to interfere. Then he turned back and looked at Hojo saying in a deep growl, “I don't know what you think you're doing but you're going to go home.”
“I was just checking on Kagome…” Hojo said as he tried to pull himself up so he was able to breath.
“I'm capable of keeping my bi-girl safe.” Inuyasha corrected himself.
“I'm sure you are!” Hojo yelped when Inuyasha dropped him. “I'm sorry I bothered you.”
“Just go Hojo.” Kagome said in an annoyed tone.
“Yes Kagome.” Hojo said as he got up and walked away, but stopped at Kagome and told her, “I don't know what's gotten into you Kagome, but it's not good.”
Kagome slapped him and said, “Hojo you have no place to tell me anything about how I live my life. You have no idea who I am.”
Hojo held his cheek and walked away deciding that he didn't want to add anything once Inuyasha started growling at him.
Kagome and Inuyasha went back inside and Inuyasha grabbed her hand before she could go into the living room. “Let's go upstairs, it's been a long night.”
Kagome just shrugged and followed him up. “What's with him, I'm sure he's not tired.” Kagome thought as they entered her room.
