-Almost 3 years has passed since the breaking of the Shikon no tama. This young miko’s birthday was fast approaching. It also fell on the fateful day that she met Inu Yasha.'The best birthday gift I ever had….' The young miko thought as she stared up at the ceiling. She had been home for about a day. She wanted a nice warm bath, get her studies done, and visit with her family. Inu Yasha didn’t mind at all, which seemed very odd to the young miko. She sighed; she hadn’t been home for almost 3 weeks. She missed her family
. The young miko closed her eyes with a long sigh of relief. “This feels so good…” She whispered. Trying to clear her thoughts, it didnt work, still the young dog demon floated into her mind. She wondered if he even remembered the day that they met. It had been a long time since then. Her feelings had grown for the dog demon.
She sighed and remembered they’re first kiss. She still couldn’t believe that they had kiss. She brought her fingers up to her lips, tracing them. She continued to keep her eyes closed. Feeling his lips on hers, she missed them. Even though, they only kissed just once. She remembered how they felt against hers and how they tasted. She remembered...The way he had looked at her after their kiss, the way he held her close. The way she felt, The love that she shared for him, only 15 and in love. She smiled to hersel.
‘I loved him before that…. I've always loved him, ever since we met i think….’ She sighed and opened her eyes.
She remembered what her friends said about her and Inu Yasha. She should leave him because of everything that had happened, but she couldn’t. Her own heart wouldn’t let her.
Yes, he had hurt her every time he left her to go see Kikyo. Every time he had smelt her sent he would go running after her. Then he would lie and say he went somewhere else. After so many years of being together, he couldn't stop the lies. She slammed her fist onto the sides of the tub. “AH!” She yelled in anger. "Why can’t he just get over her? They haven’t gone far in the last 4 years." She slowly got out of the tub and wrapped a towel around her body. Soon after she grabbed another towel she began to dry her hair. Laying the towel on the counter, she opened the door.
She stood there for a moment to let the cool air hit her warm skin. She sighed and walked into her bedroom. It was still the same. Only thing that was there was a mirror on her desk. She made her way to her bed and sat down. She looked up and stared at herself in the mirror. She changed in the last few years. Hair a bit longer. She didn’t have the childish face she used to have, it was more well defined. She touched her cheek and sighed.
‘I wonder if he had even notices.’ She thought and looked down at her body. It had filled out in all the right places. Especially her breast. They grew a bit more then what she used to have when she was only 15. She had a flat stomach and small muscles from all the fighting and traveling she had done in the last few years. But she always wore a sweater to hide all her features. She was snapped from her thoughts when she heard a knock at her door. “One second…” She yelled as she stood up and walked over to the door, grabbing the shot silk robe that was hanging on it. She put it on and tied it.
“Kagome!?” A young male voice called from behind the door. The young miko opened the door and saw her younger brother Sota standing there with a worried look. “What’s wrong, Sis?” he asked, his voice filled with his feelings.
“Nothing… I’m… Alright…” She said as she was about to closed the door. His hand flew up and grabbed the door just above her hand. “Kagome….You’re lying through you teeth.” He snapped. He knew better then that.
Kagome sighed. “Is it that obvious….how do you know?” She looked at her brother with a questionable look. “Brothers Instinct…” She smiled a bit. Walking over to the bed, she sat down. She sighed and fell back onto the bed. Sota frowned as he closed the door. He stood there for a moment staring at his sister in wonder. Finally about a minute or so later he walked over and sat next to his sister. He stared down at her, her eyes not meeting his. “You heard me yell didn’t you…?” She suddenly broke the silence.
Sota nodded and laid down next to his sister. Staring up at the ceiling with her. “Now, please, tell me what’s wrong?” His voice worried. “Inu Yasha…” She said simply, her voice calm and a tint of saddness within it.
“What he do? He would never hurt you.” He sat up to look down at her.
“Sota… He has….”
“WHAT!?!??!” His eyes grew big. 'No one hurts his big sister. No matter if i think they were cool or not.'
“I’m going to rip his throat out…” He muttered.
“Sota…please …” She said then looked into his eyes. Sota sighed and put his hands into his lap to restrain himself.
She looked away again, trying to find the words to say. “I think he still loves this woman names Kikyo...Even though its been so long..” She paused for a moment, trying to hold back the tears. “Why should I care though…? Just every time she comes near us or something, or he smells her sent. He runs after her. Why can’t he just get over her? I hate seeing him in so much pain. He’s not himself after he sees her. He gets all moody and doesn’t want to talk…”She stopped herself from talking fast. She looked out the window,“Then a day or too later he’s back to being himself….just nicer to me…. He watches over me over night, gets really jealous when Kouga comes around. Its like he wants to kill him for even coming close to me, or anywhere near me…. He just confuses me so much…..It’s driving me crazy…Then its back to yelling at me…”
Sota looked at his sister. He thought for a moment then voiced his opinion. “Kagome… Maybe he does love you. The way he acts around you when Hojo comes around. Yeah. I think he does.” He sighed then put a hand on his sister’s shoulder. “Seems like he is pushing you away. Or trying to at least. But the harder he does. The more you want to be with him.” He collected his thoughts one more time. But this time he didn’t really know what to do. “It takes time to get over something that you cared for so much….” He touched his sister’s head and started to run his fingers through it. “And you know that….” he said softly. A moment later he heard his sister give a sigh. He gave her a concerned look. Finally, he leaned down and kissed her forehead, stood, and walked towards the door. He stopped suddenly and turned his head to look at her. “Kagome, cheer up please. Its you’re birthday tomorrow…. I hate seeing you like this, so depressed…. I love you Sis.” That was the last that was said as he walked out the door. Leaving his big sister to her thoughts.
Kagome smiled at his last words. Something about her little brother words always seemed to basically get all her thoughts together. She stood up and walked to her dresser. The robe and towel dropped to the floor as she put on a pair of clean pj’s and climbed into bed. The young miko rolled over and stared up at the ceiling. "Inu Yasha.." She whispered as she closed her eyes. After a fre moments, she slowly drifted off to sleep.

-A loud sound started to ring in the young miko’s ear. Her hand slammed onto the clock next to her bed on the night stand. She rolled over and stared at the ceiling for a moment then crawled out of bed and headed over to the dresser. “Ugh….11 o clock.” She opened her dresser and grabbed out a pair of jeans and a tang top. Both got thrown onto the bed as she turned and walked to her bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror for a moment then sstarted to brush her hair. She sighed looking into the mirror. “Not a morning person anymore…what happened to you Kagome…” She laughed a bit and set down her brush. She brushed her teeth and put on her clothes. Finishing she headed out her bedroom door and down the stairs, where she found her mother getting her sandals on. Her mother was throwing a party for her. Dancing would be held outside in the moonlight with music. Everyone could gather in the living room, hangout, and talk. Kagome walked over to her mother and started to put on her tennie shoes.
“Morning, Mom.”
“Morning, Hun…. Happy birthday!..I thought you might be up. Ready to leave??” Her mother asked as she grabbed her coat off the rack and her daughter’s sweater.
“Thanks mom. Yep! Ready!” Kagome grabbed the sweater from her mother, putting it on her and her mother walked out the door.

-The morning sun rose above the mountains. The morning light had woken all the villagers by shining its light into there huts. The birds began to sing there song of morning bliss as they flew around in the sky. Little children began to run and play around the village.
A old woman walked out of her hut. Bowl in one hand and staff in the other. She looked up to the tree to the right of her hut. She smiled a bit, seeing the young half dog demon, sitting on the tallest branch, looking over the village. He promised Kagome he would look after it, while she was away.
“Good Morning, Inu Yasha.”
The young half dog demon’s ear twitched in her direction in acknowledgement. “Morning…” He said in his annoyed voice. Lady Kaede let out a small laugh. “Same old dog demon… you haven’t changed a bit…”
“I’m surprised that you’re still living you old hag.” He said as he jumped off the branch and landed gracefully next to her. He looked at the bowl then to her. “Collecting more herbs, I’m guessing.” The old priestess nodded in return.
“Yes, Inu…” She was cut off by some scream near by. Inu Yasha looked towards where the sound might have came from. “Stay here, you old hag.” Was the last thing he said before he ran off.
Reaching the destination, he saw a young man that looked so much like Naraku. He had his hand around a child’s neck. His clawed finger slowly going into her neck.
“I knew this would drive you out Inu Yasha.” The young man through the child and she hit a tree near Inu Yasha, soon after she collapsed onto the ground. Inu Yasha ran over to her picking her up in his arms.
“YOU SICK FUCK!!! WHO ARE YOU!?!? AND WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT!!?!?!”
The man laughed for a moment. “You can’t tell from what I look like.”
“Naraku is DEAD!! And I made sure of it!! HOW THE HELL DO YOU LOOK LIKE HIM SO MUCH!?!?!?”
“So many questions, Young Dog Demon.” He paused and took a step back. “Oh wait you’re half dog demon… I can smell it in your blood…discussing…” He laughed once again. The stranger held out his hand. “I hear you’ve been looking for these.” He opened his hand and 4 glowing shards appeared.
‘The last of the Shikon Jewel!!…Wait a minute… we were looking for two...KOUGA!’ He thought stepping forward. He sat the young girl down as she started to wake. She looked up at him then the stranger. She quickly stood and ran behind Inu Yasha.
“Go home, kid.” he said as he stepped forward again withdrawing his Tetsusaiga. The small sword quickly turned into the long white demon fang. “I think those are mine!!…. “Inu Yasha began to run towards him slashing out with his sword. But all the man did was jump and dodge, as he laughed. “Inu Yasha…. I just wanted to introduce myself and take the remaining shards from that wolf friend of yours…..I am… Naraku‘s Brother Zen Ju.” Red miasma felled the air. All Inu Yasha could do was hold his breath for a moment or so.. After the miasma cleared the Inu Yasha looked around and smelt the air.'No sign of him anywhere, i cant even smell the bastard.' The wolf demon's sent flowed into Inu Yasha's nose. “Kouga…” He ran towards some bushes and moved them to the side. Kouga laid motionless, is legs bloody. “You got yourself into a nice one…..stupid idiot.”
The young dog demon picked up Kouga and threw him over his shoulder. The young dog demon looked around for a moment then started running towards the village.
Reaching Kaede’s hut he walked inside. Kaede was sitting next to the fire. As she heard him walk in she looked up and sighed. “Ye Child… Put him onto the floor next to the me.” Lady Kaede stood up and walked over to a shelf. A blue plastic box laid there, it was a first aid box. Kagome had taught Kaede how to use the content in the box. Kaede grabbed it and sat next to Kougo’s legs. “What happened, Inu Yasha?” The dog demon walked over to the old women and sat beside her as she wrapped and cleaned Kouga’s legs. “Well…Naraku's brother...Zen Ju…He called himself... He took Kouga’s shards and now he has the last 4 jewel shards….” “I never recall Naraku having a brother….”
“I guess he does…” Inu Yasha sighed, stood up and walked out the door.
"At least Kagome still has the rest of the jewel." Kaeda said before he exited the hut.

-The day had gone slow for Kagome. The young miko had got her hair done and her make up. She was now on her way to buy her dress. She had no idea what she wanted. All she knew was it was going to be red. Walking down the rows of shops in the mall. She looked at the dresses that she had saw in the windows of the shops. None of the dresses she saw had caught her eye. She sighed and saw her mother walk ahead of her and into a shop. Kagome stopped and turned towards the shop, reading the sign. "Beauty Dresses," She gasped.
“Momma! This shop is too expensive!”
“Yes I know….”
“But mo..”
“Kagome. I want you to look your best tonight. This is my gift to you, hun.”
“Alright mother…”
Kagome gave her mother a nod and walked into the shop with her mother. Looking around, there was so many dress of all different colors and styles. She smiled looking at them. Wondering which one to pick up. She sighed and sat down on a nearby chair.
“Kagome, what is it?”
“I don’t know which one to choose…”
“Just try some on that you like and then make your chose.”
Kagome nodded and stood up looked around.An hour had passed. Kagome walked out of the changing room. With 10 dresses hanging on her arm. The young miko sighed and hanged them on a rack beside the door. “Kagome?” Her mother stood up from where she sat and walked over to her daughter. “I don’t like any of those on me…” Her mother nodded. “Just try walking around…. See what catches your eye.” Kagome nodded and started to walk around again. She gasped. A red dress hug in the corner of the shop. Long low back, V neck, tied around the neck, and had the mermaid look on the bottom, with a slit to the thigh.
‘Sexy.’ She thought with a smile and grabbed it. She felt the fabric and couldn’t help but smile more. ‘Its silk.’
The young miko headed over to her mother and hug her. Her mother just laughed and pulled back. “Found the one you like?” Kagome nodded with a smile putting it up against her body to show her mother.
Her mother smiled, “Lets go..” She turned and started to walk to the front of the store, where the cash registers were.
Reaching them they both got into a line. Not many people stood in line, so it didn’t take long to buy the dress. Before Kagome handed her mother the dress she looked at the tag.
“200 dollars! Mom no you cant buy this for me.”
“Kagome.. Yes I will.” Her voice stayed calm. The miko’s mother took the dress from her hands and gave it to the casher. The casher put the dress into a box and handed back to the lady. Kagome grabbed the box and held it iso her mother could pay.
Kagome smiled at her mother as they walked out of the store. “Thanks Mom.”
When they reached their home, Kagome and her mother entered the back door. The guest had already arrived. Sota had brought his girlfriend, all her relatives from her mother side was there, and her friends.
Kagome ran up stairs and into her room.

-Inu Yasha sat a few feet away from the bone eaters well. He sighed and looked up towards the mountains. Night was approaching. ‘Kagome..’ The young dog demon thought, he had missed her dearly. He was wondering if he should go see her or not. He looked down into the palm of his hand at a box no bigger then his palm. He sighed once more and put it into his sleeve.
“You know, you just cant sit there all day… Go and see her. You know what today is..” The monk’s voice was heard suddenly. Inu Yasha looked up and saw the monk standing there staring at the well.
“Monk, How long have you been standing there?!?” Inu Yasha shook his fist in frustration at the monk as he stood.
“Calm down, Inu Yasha.” From behind him a females voice was heard. She came up beside him and looked at him. “We all know you miss her.”“Songo!” Inu Yasha turned to her and put his other hand into a fist.
Shippo jumped onto the dog demon’s shoulder. Even though he had gotten a bit bigger he still could jump onto Inu Yasha’s shoulder. “Just go see her, Inu Yasha!” Inu Yasha looked at the small demon on his shoulder for a moment, his eye brow twitching. The little demon soon was on the floor and a bump forming onto his head, with Inu Yasha was standing over him. “Do you all have to sneak up on me like that!?”
Miroku smiled at him then handed him a something wrapped in cloth. Songo did also. “What’s this stuff?” Inu Yasha asked as he held the two.
“Kagome’s birthday gifts.”
Inu Yasha nodded and walked towards the well.
“When will you be back?” The little one asked.
“Whenever Kagome wants to come back…” He jumped into the well and disappeared. Inu Yasha soon forgotten about the brother. With Kagome on his mind so much,he soon forgotten about it..
