Inuyasha sat in the branches of the goshinbuku, his thoughts racing. Inuyasha sat with his arms crossed across his chest, occasionally one of his ears flicking as an insect got too close. ``How did this happen?' his inner demon would respond to his question -fool, you fell in love with her. That's how it happened- inuyasha merely growled at that statement

``How did I fall in love with her?' his inner demon remained silent at that question causing inuyasha to smirk but soon the smirk disappeared bringing back the reality that posed a problem in his life. Inuyasha stood from his place in the tree, leaping silently to the ground below. Inuyasha, instead of walking back to kaede's village, turned east and began to walk, folding his arms in the sleeves oh his haori `' I have to see her…'' his inner demon smirked -your pathetic!! Trailing after her like a lost puppy…- `'shut up!! You wanted her as much as I did last time we saw her!!'' his demon was silent, in fact, he was silent until he caught a scent that stopped him cold `' smell blood…'' his inner demon finished the sentence -and its hers- Inuyasha took off at a full sprint towards the scent of his beloved and her blood'' no no no…she can't die!!'' Inuyasha ran until his lungs burned and his legs ached and even then he ran, never dropping his pace searching the air franticly for the scent of the one he loved `'Raina!! Oh god!! answer me!! Raina!!” there was a slight shift in the bushes nearby causing Inuyasha to rush in that direction where he came upon his beloved, pale and dying, lying in a pool of her own blood with an Oni standing over her. Inuyasha looked from the Oni then to Raina then back to the Oni. Inuyasha snarled as he began to see red, his claws and fangs lengthening as he leapt at the Oni and raked his claws upwards in an ark that cleaved the Oni in two pieces, spraying blood across the ground. Inuyasha stood amongst the remains of the Youkai Oni

Breathing heavily, his clawed hands lying at his sides with blood dripping from them. Inuyasha turned to face his beloved, running to her side and kneeling beside her as he tried to awaken her. Inuyasha nuzzled her cheek affectionately as he whined low in the back of his throat “please wake up mate…” inuyasha nuzzled her cheek once more

Growling softly. Raina's eyes began to slowly open before she realized where she was and stiffened visibly causing Inuyasha to purr as he nuzzled her cheek again “calm yourself…it is me, Inuyasha” Raina relaxed as he nuzzled her cheek again “inuyasha…?”

She questioned, “I want to tell you something…mate” Raina's heart skipped a beat, had he just called her his mate? She began to grow nervous and he could smell the shift in her scent as it changed from calm to nervous, Inuyasha pulled her into his arms and growled softly calming her instantly. A small smile crept over her face as he cheeks flamed “Inuyasha…did you mean it? What you said?” Inuyasha would lean down and press his lips to hers in a gentle kiss that caused Raina to gasp. In seconds there would be wind blowing through her hair as Inuyasha raced through the trees carrying her in his arms. Inuyasha looked down to see that her wound had healed already -she is a full youkai, that is as it should be- his inner demon said

Her scent wafted up to his nose and he inhaled it sending a shiver up and down his spine.

Raina noticed his shiver and pulled him closer, a whine escaping her lips that caused Inuyasha to respond with a growl. Raina wrapped her arms around his neck as he ran, nuzzling into the crook of his neck and growling softly. Raina grazed her claws along his cheek as she spoke “ Inuyasha, will…you stay with me after this?” Inuyasha spoke in a husky whisper in her ear “yes…I will stay with you until death and beyond” she smiled a slight purr as he leaned down and took her earlobe between his fangs and nibbled on it. Inuyasha stopped and laid her down onto the soft bed of leaves and grass looking down at her as he lay between her legs. Inuyasha stared down at the beauty that lay beneath him every, ounce of love and adoration he held for her showing in his amber gaze. Inuyasha's hands roved over her body, gently admiring her every curve and committing them to memory. Raina's hands pushed away his outer layer of the fire rat haori, gently running her hands over his chest and smiling as his muscles twitched in response to her touch. Inuyasha pushed off her haori, slipping it from her shoulders running is hand over her delicate skin causing her breath to hitch.
