Past

She was 10 when she first met Inuyasha. All the girls swooned over his amber eyes, silver hair, and puppy dog ears that he had inherited from his demon father. But she could see right through his exterior to see all he wanted was a true friend and that was all she had to give………….For now! It was six years later and she and Inuyasha were the best of friends as they walked to advance lit on their first day of school. Back to high school where she would be a sophomore along with Inuyasha.

“Are you happy to be back Inuyasha?” she asked as she waved to a girl with silky brown hair and soft brown eyes standing next to a junior with black hair tied back in a pony tail. “Only cuz I can see my best friend everyday now that your back from visiting your dad in France Kagome.” Inuyasha said giving her a side hug as he watched the brown haired girl and the black haired boy come up to them. “Hi Sango. Hi Miroku,”he said as he exchanged smiles with the two of them. “How was your summer” he added removing his hand from behind Kagome's back. “Good!” they said in unison as they began to walk with Kagome and Inuyasha to their class since their own classes were in the same direction. “Ahhhh It's good to be back.” Kagome said grabbing Inuyasha's arm and stretching her free one around Sango and Miroku

“Pass it up to the front of the class Ms. Kagome,” Mrs. Willis said as she stuck her hand out for the note that Kagome inhabited. Oh crap thanks a lot Inuyasha she thought handing the note to the teacher. She opened the note and read aloud:

“Dear Kagome

I think you are the most beautiful girl in this school. And I think I am in love with you. Please I wish you would think of me more than just a friend” The teacher paused and glared at everyone that were snickering only a few people weren't including a shocked Inuyasha and a rose red faced girl named Kagome. She began to read aloud again “That is why I have written this poem for you” Mrs. Willis paused to clear her throat:

 

“Days go by but all I think about is you

Oh why are you the apple of my eye

I always can't wait for you to glance back at me

And for you to see that we were meant to be

You have know me long

What wonderful years they have been

I have loved you long and hard staring

At you with my amber eyes (bet the boy who wrote this feels stupid now she thought)

As you stare up at the skies

Waiting for that special someone to come along

But the person you want has been here all along

Me I love you Kagome Marie Higurashi”

The class was silent. A few people looking at the room to see all the people who had amber eyes. The teachers' eyes directly on Inuyasha who was the one to finally break the silence. “What are you staring at you old crone?” He asked looking flustered. “Inuyasha go to the principals office now.” She said in a calm poisonous voice. Inuyasha's face went red as a tomato. The girls who adored him started to giggle at the sight of him blushing. “Wait wait you think I wrote Kagome this l-l-love letter?” he asked stuttering behind Kagome who was now staring at her friend with a look between horrified, embarrassed, amazed, and I never knew look one her face. “Yes.” the teacher said coolly. “But I have a girlfriend and Kagome has her boyfriend Kouga.” He reviled to the class stuttering on the last word. Oh how he hated Kouga. “I don't see why you can't still love her,” said Nobunaga one of his jock friends sarcastically “I mean she did get all those curves over the summer, she also got contacts obviously, and you are the only one in this class that has amber eyes.” Not noticing the boy in the very back of the class who was listening quietly amber eyes locked on one flustered Kagome.

“Office now Mrs. Kagome Mr. Inuyasha.” The teacher screeched with a hint of amusement in her voice most likely from Nobunaga who was being glared at by a pissed off Inuyasha for what he had said about his friend. “But I didn't do anything.” Kagome blurted out right before Inuyasha joined in by saying. “Yah and I didn't write that hunk of junk.” His fan club giggled to see him so aggravated. “Just go NOW!!!” she said threateningly. “Aww man!” Inuyasha mumble trudging along after Kagome. What a great way to start the new school year.

They were in the office waiting for their parents for what seemed like hours (actually it was only 20 minutes) when her mom and Inuyasha's dad came barging through the door laughing like maniacs. Her mom and Inuyasha's father were like teenage best friends they went out to dinner all the time but never called it a date. When Inuyasha and Kagome were younger they always thought it would be cool if their parents got married because the they would be brother and sister but now it would just seem weird. “He told me he had a crush on her once.” Said Mr. Kataribee in voice the entire lobby could hear including them. “Dad!” Inuyasha shouted out. “What it is the truth,” He said smiling along with Kagome's mom “I always knew some day you would muster up the courage to tell her.” He said as him and Mrs. Higurashi burst into laughter once more. Inuyasha just slapped a hand over his cherry colored face trying desperately to his blush that was obvious to everyone. Kagome felt like laughing too but she wouldn't do that to her poor embarrassed friend. Whenever Inuyasha's father was around he brought a smile to her face and everyone else around. As she could tell the two secretaries were snickering behind the desk. Kagome accidentally let a little giggle escape causing Inuyasha to go slightly darker shade of red if it was even possible. Inuyasha's father was a full demon unlike Inuyasha who was half because of his human mother. He had silver hair pulled into a ponytail, a goatee, and was never seen in anything other that a suit only exceptions were night clothes and swimming suit. To state the obvious Inuyasha's family was rich and she his best friend was the only one in the school who knew it. It gave her a sense of specialality. The parents sat down briefly before being swept away into the principal's office. While the two parents were in their Kagome whispered to Inuyasha “Hey did you really have a crush on me?” Inuyasha straitened up the way he always did when he felt awkward “When we were 12 I-I-I,” He seemed to stumble over the next few words “I had a crush on you for two years.” He finally blurted out not meaning to say it so loud. Kagome smiled her sweet smile that she only gave to Inuyasha and put her hand over his. He turned back to her and gave Kagome his handsome smile and took hold of her hand and kissed her on the cheek and she excepted it grateful the was she always did and everyone new it was some what of a handshake they had even the teachers. But some how this one felt different. As Kagome blushed for the first time when he did that. She let go of his hand and hid her face with her own hands and turned away. Inuyasha sitting there looking dumbfounded.

As they walked over to the lunch table and sat down as Miroku and Sango started blurting out questions to Inuyasha and Kagome from across the table. “Look you two all we know is that someone sent me a love letter that wasn't Inuyasha.”She said with the smallest hint of disappointment in her voice. Neither of the men seemed to notice but Sango did as she peered over her sunglasses to her friend who was staring down at her fried rice. At that Kikyo appeared at the other side of Inuyasha with a tray of food. “Hi guys.” She said nodding to Sango then Kagome and then last but not least Miroku. “And hi baby.” She said and she kissed Inuyasha on the lips. Kagome Looked away as her and Inuyasha always did when kissing one another's spouse. “Hey where's Kouga”she asked Miroku and Kikyo who were in the last class with him considering the fact that Kikyo was a year older than any of them except Miroku. “Oh the teacher had him go run an errand for him he won't be here for lunch.” Kikyo answered eyes plastered on Kagome. “Oh.” she said solemnly. “Good we could do without the bastard for one lunch.” Said Inuyasha gobbling down his ramen. Kikyo whacked him on the head and said “You're the only one here who doesn't like him remember that honey.” At this she gulped down a protein drink that she pulled out of her bag and threw away her tray not feeling the urge to eat today. “See you guys later I'm of to practice archery.” She blabbed as she waved good bye. “Hey Kikyo wait up I'll come with.” Kagome said. “Sorry Kagome the place is to packed,” she lied not about to tell the girl that she wasn't going to go to archery at all. “Tomorrow okay.” She finished as she ran of the opposite was of archery. That's suspicious they though. But Inuyasha was to busy to notice, he was eating ramen.

Inuyasha walked to the next class alone because Kagome had to go back and get her binder that she had forgotten in Mrs. Willis's class. How was that evil woman even married. In the middle of his thoughts he was grabbed by the shoulder and slammed up against the wall. He looked up with lazy eyes to see that it was Kouga. “Look Kouga I would just love to hear about your summer,” he said sarcastically “but I have to get to math class.” As he tried to get up but efforts were futile when he was slammed back down against the wall. “Look Kouga what do you want this is getting old.” Kouga's face stared at Inuyasha like he was an idiot. “You bastard hanyou you know exactly what I want. I want to beat your ass for hitting on my bitch.” At this Inuyasha got mad Kouga was accusing him of something he didn't do and he was calling Kagome his bitch. So he did the first thing that came to mind he punched him. “You ass don't call her that” he said as he turned and walked away leaving Kouga in the hall way jaw bleeding.

I hope you liked it. And for you that want Inuyasha and Kagome to be together don't worry but I'm gonna make you wait. And Sesshy+Kagome friends I have my ideas. Don't hate me. Oh yah and please review. Will update as soon as possible.

 

P.S. Nobunaga is a character from the third book where he tried to save the princess from the frog that inhabited the prince, I may put the princess in later briefly so keep your eyes open.
