"SIT! Stop picking on Shippo, Inuyasha!" were Kagome's angry words. Inuyasha grumbled something under his breath as he slowly rose from the small crater he had made in the ground. He shot Shippo and angry glare as he dusted himself off and continued walking again, not saying another word. Kagome shot him another quick glare and then turned her attention to the young kitsune, who was rubbing the lump on his head that Inuyasha had given him.
Miroku and Sango were loading Kagome's bag onto her bike as Shippo jumped into the basket on the front of it. When everything was all packed up, the small group had begun to leave. After a few minutes, Sango looked back to see that Kagome had stopped. "Kagome, what's wrong?" As Sango spoke to the miko, all but Kirara, who was sound asleep in Sango's arms, turned to look at her. Kagome stared up at the darkening sky. "I think... I think that I sense some jewel shards near by."
sist er, are we there yet?" asked a young girl. Her turquise hair was up in two high pony-tails that dropped down to her waist. A small, clawed, pale hand ruffled the side of her lavender kimono and her purple tinted blue youkai eyes stared up at the form that walked beside her. A pale blue stone hung around her neck that gave off a faint glow. "No, Orra. I'm afrad we still have a long way to go," answered the much taller figure. Nothing besides the other girl's heighth could be seen in the shadows of the trees. "Listen..." continued the taller figure, "...it's getting dark out, we should probably make camp. Is that ok Orra?" The young girl, or Orra as the tall figure had called her, nodded her head reluctantly.
Inuyasha stared at Kagome. "Where are they Kagome?" Kagome stared up at the sky for a few more moments and then looked back at the hanyou. She nodded and pointed in the direction that they were heading. "Up ahead. I think that they're about a mile away." Inuyasha nodded and took off running. He looked back at them. "Come on! Move it! We can't let the shikon jewel shards get away!" he snarled. Miroku, Sango, Shippo, and Kagome nodded to each other and Sango turned to her awakened neko youkai. "Kirara! Let's go!" Kirara mewed and nodded her head. She jumped out of Sango's arms and with a burst of flames, was in her bigger youkai form. Sango and Miroku got on Kirara and they took off, Kagome not too far behind on her bike.
Further ahead, Inuyasha kept a quick pace. Although he didn't want to go too far ahead of the others. He sniffed the air and caught a strange scent. "That's them alright, not to much further now..."
