Disclaimer: First off I just absolutely love my reviews! Thanks so much guys! And yes wouldn't it be wonderful to be greeted with the sight of a half naked Inuyasha on our bed. Sigh. We can only dream.
Second I want to apologize for neglecting my story. I hosted a large event this weekend and I used the week to make sure all of the preparations were going as planned. Needless to say it did! Yay! But now I will put forth the effort to get this story moving again. Thanks for reading. Kane shi megami

The sound of my alarm clock was the last thing I wanted to hear. As I had predicted, I was not able to go to sleep easily and I hated myself for constantly looking over at Inuyasha during the night. I felt like some kind of peeping tom.
But could you really blame me?
Making my way out of bed I groggily began getting ready for school. Today was the last day to get tickets for the formal and I was going to have to go to the committee, which happened to include my favorite people, Hojo, Ami and Yuri. Wasn't life great?
The delicious aroma of breakfast beckoned me downstairs and I blindly followed. Opening the kitchen door I found only Inuyasha sitting around the table with chopsticks in hand devouring mother's delicious omelets.
Giving his wardrobe a look over I was relieved to see him in blue jeans and a tight fitting black t-shirt with his hair pulled back neatly.
“Good morning Inuyasha,” yeah right, “do you know where everyone's at?”
Pausing from his food he looked up and nodded what I guessed was a good morning before saying, “Your mom had to take Sota to school today, something about volunteering for a play.”
Finishing making a bowl of food, I sat across from him and dived in; looking up at the clock I noticed that I was not going to be able to enjoy it because I was already running late. Scarfing down as much food as I possibly could without getting sick I quickly ran over and took my plate to the sink.
“Don't worry about washing; I'll clean it when I get back.”
Turning around I saw Inuyasha with my bag over his shoulder and already to the door. Maybe today wouldn't be so bad after all.
“Thanks.”
Following his lead, we made our way outside and began the walk to school. Maybe it was a habit now, but his hand suddenly found mine and I knew I would never get tired of him doing that.
“So how did your shopping trip go yesterday?”
Yeah real smooth, distract me with conversation. “It went surprisingly well, Mama found the most perfect dress too!”
He continued to look at me and with his raised eyebrows he seemed genuinely intrigued by this. “Oh really?”
I found it hard to believe that Inuyasha would be so interested but I went along with it anyway, after all who better to be excited about it with?
“Yeah I can't wait to wear it again.” My mind went foggy with my dream dress and remembering how great it was and my dreams of how Inuyasha would react. He had to like it, if not the style at least the color.
“Well I'm glad you liked it- one.”
Well speaking of the festival, or close to it, “Hey Inuyasha, just so you know I'm really grateful that you're doing this, it means so much to my mom- and me too.”
“Feh. Don't worry about it.”
It was such a typical Inuyasha response but it still seemed cold. When his hand gave mine a squeeze I figured he had thought the same thing.
Conversation was light the rest of the way, talking about small family things, Sota, Mama, and how Grandpa was strangely starting to warm up to him by not trying vanquish him anymore.
Before we knew it we were standing outside of the school's main gate. He removed my book bag from his shoulder and carefully helped me slip into it. But he left his hands on top of my shoulders forcing me to look up at him and his sudden closeness.
“Kagome I just wanted you to know that I'm glad to be a part of this special event. I didn't mean to make it sound like a chore earlier.”
I flashed him a smile before giving him a hug, how could he be so worried over that? “I know you didn't, and I'm glad I get to share it with you too.”
The bells ringing signaled it was time for me to go to homeroom; and sadly let go of Inuyasha.
“Well, I have to go to class now, thank you for walking me.”
I let him go and began to walk away and I was surprised when I felt his hand on my wrist turning me around to face him again. But this time his hands were on my waist.
I felt like my eyes were going to pop out of their sockets. What had gotten into him, he's never held me so- intimately before. Then he began closing the distance between us and my mouth went dry and my heart speed up ten fold. Was he really going to kiss me?
I was sorely, no scratch that, I was greatly disappointed when his lips didn't land on mine; instead they were very close to my ear. His breath tickled as he spoke in a deep husky voice I had no idea he possessed.
“Let's have lunch; I'll meet you by the tree okay?”
How in the hell could such a general conversation make me feel so turned on? Was it his closeness? The fact that I could breath in his scent that was uniquely his own? Was it his voice? Or was I just simply incredibly horny for this man?
Snapping myself into reality I simply uttered a small “sure,” before I felt him start to pull away. I berated myself for allowing such a stupid thought to enter my mind. Inuyasha KISS ME? Yeah right, when Myoga didn't flee. And now I looked like a complete idiot for not being able to answer such a simple yes no question.
Instead I was there acting like a complete love-sick school girl. (Which I kind of was) Trying to find the strength I gripped my straps tight as he started walking away. Why did I feel like that was such a let down?
I was completely blown away when his voice again. “Hey Kagome?” He started walking directly towards me with a look that could have melted gold.
“Yeah?” I squeaked like a child cornered and had no idea what to say. Meanwhile my knees were shaking and my palms were dripping with perspiration.
He stopped right in front of me toe to toe held my back upper arms and gave me soft gentle kiss on my cheek before pulling away smiling.
“Don't be late,” he said turning away walking back down the street and I was left there completely breathless, speechless, and my face as red as a tomato. To be short I looked like a damn fool.
Did that really just happen? I was brought out of my stupor by the giggling of the girls nearby who had apparently witnessed the entire scenario.
I felt as if I was floating on air as I made m way to homeroom. Suddenly I didn't care if I was late or not. I had more important things to worry about…… like why the damn clock didn't say it was lunchtime yet!
