InuYasha and the others walked on until it became dark. As the sun was setting, Shippo let a yawn escape from his mouth, followed by Kagome. Her eye lids grew heavier by each passing second, and she finally had to stop. InuYasha took one look at her, and decieded that it was best to make camp. Kagome leaned up aginst the trunk of a tree, and before she knew it, she had fallen asleep. Shippo, weary from the days activitys, crawled onto Kagomes lap and curled himself up.

Miroku and Sango wondered why Kagome seemed so sleepy lately. Since they had left Kaedas village, she had not acted herself. Kagome had width drawn from conversation altogether. Often Miroku found himself looking closely at her to see was alright. He had found himself strangly worried about her. Ofcourse, he always worried about her safety, as he did the others, but some how... it seemed diffrent. Kagome had become one of his dearest friends, and not even noticed it. It seemed as if she had just always been there to support and help him when he needed it. He felt for her physically what he felt for all women, but had learned early on that it was best not to touch her, for one there was the wrath that Kagome herself put up, but another was InuYashas. From then on, he tried to keep his hands off Kagome, and focused them more on Sango and every women they should pass. But now, looking at Kagome, sleeping upright, he felt a pain inside of him. Something was wrong with Kagome. But what?

Sango and Miroku were not the only ones to have noticed. Shippo was very aware of the change a day had brought out in Kagome. She had seemed fine in the day time, but at night fall, she seemed as if her mind was far away from them. She was always the one with energy and spunk. Now, she was completly drained of everything.

Shippo could feel Kagomes breath bring the rise and fall of her body. Each breath seemed like she was takeing in and letting out lead instead of air. What could be wrong with her? Shippo wouldnt be able to bare it if anything was wrong with her. He loved her like family, and hadn't he already seen enough family members die? With every thought that passed through Shippos head, he held Kagome that much tighter.

InuYasha was the only one who knew what was wrong. He kept the memory stored up inside of him, thinking that if he locked it away it wasnt true. He shouldnt fear this person, if it was a demon, it could be killed. If a human, then it was powerless to him. But what was it?! Kagome herself didnt even know, and she would awaken in a cold sweat, each time with a new physical pain. Before it had been her heart rate, then her breathing. What was it?! Had some one placed a curse on Kagome? Was this all just truely nightmares, or was this realted to some person. But who would want to do that to Kagome? She was just so good. He couldnt imagined how she could have wronged some one, even more at that, so badly they would haunt her dreams? Something was going on, and maybe it wasnt that Kagome couldnt remember, it wa that she didnt want to.

InuYasha looked over at Kagome, sleeping sitting up like he does, Shippo on her lap. She probally didnt even realize she was sitting. For all she knew, she was safe, laying in bed, at her home, in her time. It was apperent now. Kagome feared the darkness. This thing- what ever it was- came at night, for during the day she was safe, unharmed by light, but as each minute turned into an hour, a jolt of fear would arise in her once more. Thats what had been wrong with her as the day progressed on.

InuYasha walked over to Kagome, and removed Shippo from her lap. Without a word, he put him on the cold ground. Shippos body jerked from the frozen Earth. He picked up Kagome and when he turned, her sleeping bag was unrolled for her, thanks to Sango. He laid her down gently, as not to wake her. He figured if she could sleep, maybe her mind could be at ease. Walking back to the tree, he removed Shippo and put him next to Kagome. Every one took a second to look at them before heading off to sleep themselfs. InuYasha stayed close to Kagome, but let his eyes fall shut after awhile. She was safe, and he was always on guard. Sleep came over InuYasha before he was aware, but he was half awaiting to hear of cry and stuggle to get out of a dimention that did not exsist.

As expected, Kagome fell into a coma of sleep, but she tried to fight it the whole way through. Apperntly, her dream universe, and reality did not differ much.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
'Where... Where am I? Everything is so blurry' .

Kagome open her eyes, only to feel a sharp pain brought to them. Ignoring the crys her brain sent out, Kagome turned her head to try and find some one, any one. When she looked to her right she saw trees and the bone eaters well. As Kagome looked over her left shoulder, she saw the same picnic scene thatshe had encounted before, her same friends gathered round, only this time, Kagome wasn't an on looker. As she stared out into the summit, Shippo called out to her.

"Kagome! Come on. Were about to start!" The young kitsune stated.

"Im comming." Was all she could answer.

"What were you stareing at Kagome?" Sango asked with a smile.

"I... I dont know."

'Something doesn't feel right.'

"Well, did you get it?" InuYasha asked, a little annoyed.

"Get what?" Kagome said.

"What?! Did you get the books you left with Kaeda or not?"

"Kagome felt a sudden weight fall on her lap, she looked down at her hands, and sure enough were her text books.

"Why do I have these?" She asked confused.

"You were yapping about it all day, so you went to go get them... Remember?"

Kagome slowly shook her head left to right.

"No..."

The wind picked up, and it was as if it was calling out her name. Softly, so only she could hear its plea for her.

"Kagome" it called out once more. Kagome stood and listened on as it chanted out her name. She looked over her shoulder to ask if any one had heard that. But they were gone; no trace of them ever being there what so ever. She began to panic. The wind breathed her name once more and she looked around nervously. Slowly the shadowed figure came towards her, she tried to voice her protest, and once agian, found her voice gone. Her hands flew to her throat, as in disbelief. Silent tears made their way down her skin as the preditor came forth.

With out warning, it struck its hand out from the darkness, as if trying to pull Kagome out of the light. She resisted, and the grip only tightend as she did so.
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

InuYasha could feel Kagomes fear. It lied so heavily ib the air, that alone was able to wake him from his peaceful slumber. He made his way to Kagome, who l looked as if she was struggleing. Her body jerked upward, and tossed as if trying to break free. InuYasha could see Kagome haveing a hard time breathing and was about to wake her when he saw it. On her wrist, a spot redend, almost like a burn, but it was clearly not, the shape of a hand wrapped around her wrist. InuYasha watched in shock as the marks of the fingers grew redder. Snapping back into reality, InuYasha shook Kagome awake until she sat up, gasping for breath.

"Kagome!" InuYasha called out. She frantically turned her head.

"Inu...Yasha..." She mouthed out, but no sound came with it. Her hand came to her throat once more, and she shook her head free of its thoughts. Slowly, her breath regulated, and her voice came back to her once more.

"Kagome! What happend to you?" He grabbed her wrist, and the markings had almost completely gone away. But it was still there, very faintly, you could make out the hand print of the preditor. Reclaiming her voice she said.

"I... I dont know."

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

It was day break agian, and Miroku awoke to seeing Kagome wrapped in InuYashas arms. The monk stuided the two there for a long moment. Not only was it puzzeling enough that the two were so close, in such an intimate way, he was also questioning his memory. Had InuYasha not laid Kagome down on her sleeping bag last night? Had he just imagined it? No, he was sure he saw Sango spread it out for her. So what was Kagome doing back at the tree, and in InuYashas arms no doubt? The monk decieded that InuYasha would be under heavy question today. If something were to have happend, Kagome would tell Sango and he could easily get the truth out of her. It wasnt that he enjoyed twisting things so that Sango had to explain herself, its just that he was had to know. Miroku didnt know if it was that Sango like to gossip, or that she could not say no to him that made her spill out every ounce of detail But the procedure was a very delicate one, for one wrong slip, and she would shut him off for good. He didnt like the term spying, but Kagome and InuYashas relationship was a soap opera, and he was addicted and needed to see what would happen next.

Miroku looked them over and saw a look on InuYashas face he had never seen before. It was so undescribable that trying to figure it out gave him a chill. He had Kagome in his arms, but he didnt seem happy, he seemed concerned. And underneath that look, was the unmistakeable look of fear. And that scared Miroku more than he realized. He looked over at Kagome and she seemed sad. He had often seen her that way before, but this was different. This, what ever made Kagome and InuYasha in such a state, was big, and it had power. What was it that caused his friends such pain? Could it be that they had set aside their pride, and finally tried to make things right? But no. If this were to be true, Miroku doubted that InuYasha would show that affection to her in public like this. Let alone the look on his face that we wore. To him, this was a sad, dramatic twist to his soap opera plot. But he didnt like where this one was going.

Shippo was once agian let out alone, and cold. His body was not used to being by himself, Kagome had slept next to him since the day he joined the group. 'Well, it wasnt much of a group then.' Shippo thought. 'It was just Kagome and InuYasha. Even though they fought worse than they do now, I could tell Kagome was important to him, but he wouldnt admit it. He is such a fool. If Kagome didnt care for him so much I would tell her to find someone diffrent. No, thats not true. InuYasha cares for Kagome, other wise he wouldnt be so darn jealous. Boy, InuYasha sure can be an idiot sometimes.' Shippo tossed and turned alone in Kagomes sleeping bag.

Yes, Shippo could remember. Slowly, without him ever seeing the change, InuYasha had lost all awkwardness to Kagome, along with his resentment to her. Was it prehaps when he saw her cry for him? That night, so long ago. It seemed like forever had passed, when in reality, it had only been a few years. Kagome was 15 at the time, and still clumsy, but her heart so pure and hate free. Even when he had tried to run off with her jewel shards, Kagome treated him kindly. InuYasha had become human, for it was the night of the new moon. He had become insnared in a demon spiders web, and wouldnt have been able to hold much longer, if it wasnt for Kagome. Was it the fact that Kagome risked her life to save him that made him look diffrently toward her? The spider had injected a large amount of its poison into InuYashas blood, and haveing the make up of only a human tonight, he was in grave danger. Thankful, and much to his likeing, Myoga, had sucked out all the deathly blood that roamed his body.

InuYasha barely had the strenght to talk, but he did so. He asked Kagome if she would mind if he rested on her lap, if just for a little while. This caused such a shock to her that she was wondering if it really was him talking, or his human blood. When he said that she smelled nice, Kagome thought for sure that the poison had gotten to him. But after that InuYashas past lover Kikyo was "re-born" in a sense, becoming the un-dead miko. Shippo had been unsure if it was Kagome that brought the change in InuYasha, or the fact that Kikyo was alive again. Well, as alive as you can be for a pile of clay and dirt.

When he moved about and realized he had not bumped into Kagomes body, he sprang up calling her name softly. He rubbed his sleepy eyes, and turned his head to look for her. When he saw that she was fast asleep in InuYashas arms, Shippo breathed out a sigh of relief. 'Shes safe.' The fox kit was thrilled. For a second, he thought he had lost another family member. 'I want Kagome to be happy, and I want InuYasha to be happy. They want to be with each other But who stops them? The prestist Kikyo. Things wouldnt be so complicated if she wasnt here. Why cant InuYasha just be happy he has Kagome? She is beautiful and nice and cheerful. Always happy and loveing. Kagome is also strong and fearless. Why cant InuYasha just be happy? There is no way that Kikyo is anywhere near as good a person as Kagome is, Kagome is twice the person she will ever be at least. Look at Koga, he would go nuts if Kagome ever treated him the way she treats InuYasha. The fool. He is going to realize this and it will be too late. If Kagome leaves, I will never forgive him.' Shippo was unable to sleep now, the thoughts that had once been sympothy and sadness now turned to anger and worry. What would he do if he lost Kagome?

She was so kind to him, even when they first met, and he had tried to make off with her jewel shards. InuYasha had clobbered him, and Kagome treated it so the wound would heal. In an effort to avenge his fathers death, Shippo had played a foul trick on InuYasha, and in the process, gotten Kagome kidnaped.

'I remember that. I had called Kagome his women, and InuYasha turned away stubbornly. When we got to the thunder brothers, they were convinced that Kagome was InuYashas lover. Even though I was only 8 at the time, even I could see that Kagome had done it to save her neck, fast talking her way out of it. The look on her face said it all. Although it wasnt I who avenged you father, I think you may be able to rest in peace.'

Prehaps it was that fact that the thunder brothers were dead, or maybe so that Kagome was safe, but after that, Shippo had stopped acting childish, playing tricks just to get under everyones skin, and became the sweet, kind, kitsune we know and love today.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kagome found herself in a flow of red fabric when she awoke, but this time she remembered. She nudged InuYasha a little, motioning him to get up. He was reluctant at first, he was happy just as they were. Sitting there, him holding her. Her head aginst his chest, feeling that in his arms she was safe. There was no doubt now that she was okay, it was day break, and she was rested. InuYasha looked down at Kagome for a brief second then at Shippo, who was watching intently at them from her sleeping bag. Sitting upright, Shippo turned to Miroku who had not seemed to notice in the least that InuYasha had slept next to Kagome. The young fox kit rushed over to them, and Kagome yawned and let out a defeated sigh.
Kagome loved sleeping near InuYasha. She loved the warmness of his body, the noises of sleep he sometimes gave off. The rise and fall of his chest when he breathed. She loved being near him. She just wished it didnt come at such a high price.
Kagome sat up, supporting her own body instead of laying on InuYashas, and manged a faint smile. She took a deep breath, and let it out. It was morning, and she would enjoy the few hours she had. Kagome looked at him, and somehow, she felt he understood. Standing up, and brushing herself free of dirt, then woke up Sango and the two talked lightly. The had passed a hot spring the night before and were eager to vist it. Kagome took InuYasha aside to tell him where they were headed off to.
"I dont think thats such a good idea."
"What? Why?"
"Your tired. What happens if you fall asleep? Or even just close your eyes?" InuYasha was low, but stern.
"I will be fine! Sango will kepp me awake."
"Okay." Inuyasha said giving in. If she really wanted it, and it would make her happy, it was fine. She needed the cheering up.
"Thank you!" Kagome said, a little irritated. She knew it was only because he cared, but she had never had liked being told what to do. She was sure he would not give in, and it took her by surprize.
Sango stuided the two. Something odd was going on. She had never seen Kagome so happy about going to a hot spring. Kagome walked over to Sango and told her it was okay to go as she pulled out towels and bathing supplys.
"What do you mean its okay to go? Do you need his permission?"
"No, I just needed to tell him that we were going."
Sango gave Kagome a look that ment she was to hear all about it later on.
"Theres nothing to tell." Kagome said, reading her thoughts and her face.
InuYasha watching them walk off until they became smaller and smaller. He turned to Miroku, who gave him a funny look. InuYasha had no time to be angry or embaressed. He was too busy being worried that some thing was going to happen to Kagome. He wanted so badly to follow behind them, not for pleasure, but to be reassured that she was going to be okay. What happened if Kagome nodded off, and she started to get those nightmares once more as she so often did at night. What would happen? Sango wouldnt know what to do! InuYasha tried to get those thoughts out of his head, repeating over and over that every thing will be alright
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
At the hot spring, Sango and Kagome stripped of their cloths and left them on a rock. The heat made Kagomes eyes fluuter, and she protested to stay awake. Sango gave Kagome a hard look.
"Whats going on Kagome?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean why is InuYasha acting so strange, why do you need permission to take a bath, and why are you too so close lately?" Kagome blushed but it faded as soon as it came.
Kagome sucked in the hot air, then released it. She sighed, not really wanting to explain herself, for she didnt even think she could.
"Kagome?"
"Its okay Sango. I'm okay. Just trust me." "I do trust you Kagome, but I just feel that-"
"Sango, I wouldnt be able to explain it even if I tried."
Sango just nodded in agreement.
"Okay, what ever you say Kagome." Sango relaxed back aginst a rock, and suddenly melted in its warmth.
"Sango?" Kagome called out. InuYasha was right, the hot springs was making her want to sleep.
'I will only close my eyes for a second. I'll be fine.' Kagome thought to herself. But as the seconds turned into minutes, she was unable to open her eyes, and was submuraged into the land of dreams.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

They had taken too long. No one could possibly need that long to bathe, even those two. Sango and Kagome had been away for atleast two hours. And InuYasha was certian something was wrong. He traveled down the road at a steady pace, that is, until he could smell Kagomes fear. Her heart was beating so fast, InuYasha swore it shook the ground. At that time he ran as fast as his feet could carry him, and even at the pace he was going, he couldnt help but think it wasnt fast enough.

He saw Kagomes body, resting on the platform of the hot spring, while Sango slept easily aginst a rock. Kagomes hands were upon her throat, and she was taking in short, hard breaths. Upon her wrist, the same hand prints came back, trying to come out of dream hood, and into the present, awaking, reality. Only this time, instead of it being red, InuYasha could see the nail marks that were digging into her so hard, blood was drawn. It trickeld down her arm, as all five finger nails puctured into her skin. InuYasha tried frantically to wake her.

"Kagome! Kagome you have to wake up!"

Her brows met, as she tried to resist the force pulling her forth.

"KAGOME!" He shook her once more, then she began to cough. Her eyes shot open, and her breathing became more of a pant than anything else. As her breath slowed, and became some what normal, she screamed out, prehaps from fear, prehaps to see if she could even do it, and called out his name.

"INUYASHA!" She flung her arms around him, and he just held her tight, both ignoring the fact that she wore no clothes. It didnt matter right now. Kagomes fear mattered.

When Kagomes arm came in contact with InuYasha, she yelped out in pain, to see that her wrist had not recovered, and the blood now spread widely over her arm. Kagome just melted into InuYasha, tears streaming down her face. At about this time, Sango awoke from her peaceful slumber, to see InuYasha, holding a frantic Kagome.

"Whats wrong with her?" Sango asked livid.

"Why did you let he fall asleep?!?!" InuYasha cried out.

"What?" Sango asked, more than confused.

"Just go! Get her a towel or something."

Kagome whimpered into him, and he stroked her hair with caution. He took off his haori, and laid it on top of her, for she was curled into a ball in his lap.

"Shh...Shh." He tried. Sango watched the two, then gave him the clothes, leaving with a zooming mind and a heavy heart.

InuYasha took the towel, and washed the blood off Kagomes arm. All she could do was hold him close, and all he could do, was be there for her.

InuYasha picked up her clothes, then her, and carried her away, back to camp, a little while after Sango had gone herself. When he returned, Miroku was stunned to see Kagome in his fire rat, and InuYasha carrying her no less. The way that she had her hands clamped around his neck, looked as if she let go, her whole world would crumble. And in truth, if she did, Kagome thought it would.

"Inu...InuYasha, what is wrong with Kagome?" the monk asked, dumb founded.

When Sango returned back to camp from the hot spring, she had not seemed herself. Almost as if she was lost in thought, lost in worry. Miroku, instintly, went
went out of his way, to try and comfort her. But he was unsure how to do so, when he didnt know the problem. She had urged him to leave her be, and following her orders, he did. But when ever InuYasha came, ... He was just not expecting that one.

InuYasha seemed to not even have heard the monk, and he just walked onward, walking toward a tree. It was a huge oak tree, one that had seen many years. InuYasha jumped up upon its thickest branch, Kagome still in arms, and tried to avoid the world. He wasnt ready to face reality, because this seemed to... unreal. And he wasnt ready for it, he knew Kagome would have a mental break down. So he opted for taking her as far away as possible. Kagome stared off into space, unaware of her surrondings. She only knew that she was with InuYasha, and in his arms. Which to her was the safest place she could be. But then agian, who can protect someone from their dreams?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kagome awoke the next morning, high above the ground, wrapped tightly in InuYashas arms. She moved her head a little aginst his chest, only to realize that he was with out his haori. She moved sleepy eyes down to see that she was indeed, as she suspected, in his fire rat. But to her amazement, that was all she had on. She began to stir a little bit, and InuYasha shifted his eyes from the sky line, to her.
"Are you awake Kagome?" InuYasha whispered close to her ear. She shivered, and replyed with a hoarse voice-
"...Yes..." She moved her head so she could look at InuYasha. He looked as if he was fighting something. He didnt know whether to hold her, or to scream at her. Yet, also at the same time, he realized he had forgotten his oath to himself to keep Kagome aat a safe distance. But, was there any safe distance with her? He doubted it.
"Kagome?" He said with a steady voice, no emotion what so ever.
"Yes?"
"Do you remember what happend? Anything at all?"
"I remember... Sango and I were at the hot spring, and I started to get tired, and I went to get up, but I, couldnt stand it. I fell asleep. I'm sorry."
'Shes apologizeing for being tired? She almost.... almost died, and she feels sorry, like she had hurt me. Kagome...."
"No, its okay. I shouldnt have let you go. But thats not what I ment."
"What did you mean then?"
InuYasha gentally pulled her upper arm away from him, and rolled up his haori. He then showed her the scars left behind from when she had fallen asleep. Kagome gasped aloud.
"How did... Did this happen when I was at the spring?"
"Do you remember what happened in your dream?" InuYasha demanded.
Kagome stiffend, then let out a sniffle.
"No." She said. Then she turned her eyes into the trees, trying to hold back tears. InuYasha pulled her close to him, and her salty water poured out onto him.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Later that day, Sango went about her own way, keeping mostly to herself. She even ignored the monk when he tried to comfort her in more, personal areas. She was so far gone from them, InuYasha began to worry if she too was haveing these dreams. But the only thing Sango suffered from was a heavy heart.
Though they had to continue on with their journey, InuYasha regreted haveing to go. Kagome had no recovered well enough for his likeing. She didnt talk to anyone and if she did, it was more often than not to him. Her answers were always sad and forlon, and you couldnt help but feel a pain inside of you when you looked at the girl who had been so happy once, so full of life. She now seemed drained of every thing. Even the fox kit did little to sooth her pain. Kagome did not walk far from InuYasha. She was by his side almost every second, and a fear and panic would come over her when he did have to leave. But, it wouldnt have been any diffrent anyway. Even if Kagome had been fine, he would not have let her go from him without arms length. He was fearful for her, and constinly curseing when the sun began to set.
Kagome still looked as if she were unaware of her surrondings, and she would just stare into space every now and then. In words, she could be reminded very much of Kanna.
"Kagome...?" Miroku tried. But his sentance was cut short when InuYasha pushed him away from her, and stated it was time to make camp.
By night fall, Shippo was laying beside Sango asleep. Miroku was fast into his dreams, and all that remained was InuYasha and Kagome. She sat with her back aginst a trunk of a tree, staring into the flickering fire. The wild embers flew off into diffrent directions, and the red and orange could become most mesmorizeing. InuYasha took a seat next to Kagome and tried to figure out what to do next. Something was wrong with her, and he couldnt do anything to stop it.
"InuYasha?" The voice was low, and starteld him some what. Kagome spoke softly, while still looking into the fire.
"Kagome?! Are you-"
"I should have listened. I should have listened to you."
"About what?" He asked, more startled than before.
"You said that I would be tired, you knew it. If you hadn't had come to check up on me when you did, I...I... I could have.... I dont even know what could have happened. I am being hurt, and scared, and I dont even remember what is doing it or why. And some how, this thing has managed to bring the pain out onto my body phyically. Its sick InuYasha. Its sick. And I want it to stop, I want it to end... I want it too..." Her words came out at a squeak, then into a cry. As inuYasha moved to comfort her, she called out his name, this time, emotion slipping back into her voice.
"InuYasha?" She focused on the fire, and her voice made him stop in his tracks. He turned to face her better.
"Thank you.... For saveing me." Only then, was she drawn out of the fires hold on her, and faced him. With sad eyes, she smiled.
No matter how much InuYasha had peomised himself, he couldnt help but embrace her. She needed him, and he needed her. Needed to feel her respond to him, and she was. When he wraped his arms around her, she squeezed tighter. Inuyasha held back salty tears, thanking the gods that she was okay after all.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~"
The next morning, no one gave Kagome and InuYashas positon a second look. In fact it happened every night over the next three months. Kagome had grown so attached to him just being there, she felt like Shippo when she had left him. Alone and cold. Willing to admit it or not, InuYasha felt the same way.
Kagome and InuYasha were not the only ones affected. Shippo was almost always sad now. He not only feared for Kagome, he found the idea that some one paid nightly vists to his friend scared him more than he wanted to admit. He was safe with the group. They were skilled fighters. Kagome was a prestist, and very
powerful. InuYasha was hated, and feared, by demons and humans of all types because they knew that he could kill them. Sango was raised upon the occupation of killing demons. Miroku could suck anyone or anything into his wind tunnel, but he was also had the spirtual powers of a monk. So in all sense, Shippo felt he should be safe. But if he and Kagome really were safe, why wasnt this thing over yet? He ached for things to be as they once were.
As time had progressed on, the nightly vistor had less and less of a hold on her. Kagome and InuYasha became closer. The smallest of things ment the world to them. They valued the time they spent together. It seemed changes had taken over them completly.
During the day, Kagome stayed close to InuYasha, and vice versa. He was always at her side. Their conversations were more directed toward each other than the rest of the group. Kagome used her bike less frequently, as she preferred rideing InuYasha, and that was how he preferred it too. Before, the bike had been for her to get around when the jewel was no where near. But now, InuYasha hated the thought of Kagome on that thing. She weighed next to nothing, so it was no strain on him. Plus, he loved the feel of haveing Kagome so close to him. They would run off into the forest, she holding his shoulders, and he held her legs tightly
When the two walked, they were shoulder to shoulder. InuYashas necklace was almost of no use. Kagome had not "Sit" him in almost two months. Strange as it was, they argued more. But it was petty things that they fought about. When Kagome was allowed to go home, and stops along the way. Other than that they only complained about his stubborness. But, all this in mind, Kagome remembered what she had heard more than once: fighting means the realtionship is worth it. And at the rate which they went, the realtionship was worth a lot.
InuYasha had completly done away with his promise to himself. He could lose Kagome at any moment, and he said he didnt want to have any regrets. Not taking every chance he could have with Kagome would have been his biggest one.
Sango missed Kagomes company the most. It was like pulling teeth to get the two away from one another. In Sangos sense, InuYasha acted as if Kagome was his posession, and InuYasha had no intention of shareing. The talks that Kagome and she once had so often, were now so little. The only time she got a word in edge wise from InuYasha, was when they were at the hot spring. Since they had much to tell one another, they often took long at the spring, and InuYasha wanted edge wise from InuYasha, was when they were at the hot spring. Since they had much to tell one another, they often took long at the spring, and InuYasha wanted her back. He was done loaning her out to Sango for the day, because he missed her so much while she was gone, he hated the idea that she would be away for hours at a time, so he always put his two cents in about her leaveing. But Kagome loved those times, when she was away. She hated that they were not together, but it was when she returned that she loved. At night, InuYasha would be more gental with her, holding her more lovingly, treausreing each second that he had alone with her. He would often get lost in her scent, as he laid there holding her, and Kagome would be the only one able to pull him out. He loved this feeling, and he never wanted to lose it.
Kagomes dreams that threatend her, came less and less. She could go a whole night through a dream, and have it be just that- a dream.
