Her breath stopped short.

Standing before her eyes, she saw the figure of a man with long blank hair.

"Kagome!"

The man standing before her was a beautiful sight. To see a familiar face at that moment, was the most wondering feeling she had had in a long time.

She ran toward the person calling her name.

"Koga! she called.
"Kagome! What-" He stopped, his breath short "What are you doing here alone?"
"I... I...-" What would she tell him. The truth? That Naraku had kidnapped her, after she had left to find InuYasha? Koga would never let either one of them hear the end of it. He may not even take her back to Kaedas.
"Naraku kidnapped me. But I-"
"And wheres the mutt?!" Koga yelled, putting his arms on Kagomes shoulders.
She should have been protected. She shouldnt have been alone long enough for that to have happened.
"InuYasha he- He just went away for a walk, and I wanted to follow after him... But-"

"But nothing Kagome. He was supposed to be -" Koga suddenly stopped, knees buckleing to the floor.

"Koga!" Kagome screamed. "What happened to you?!" Slowly she helped koga lower himself to the ground.
" I met up with Naraku, but that bastard got away. He left me with one of his "friends" though."

"Koga. Your hurt. Lets get you to a river, and wash off your wounds."

"Im fine. I-" He replied as he winced in pain.

"Koga, I'm not joking. You can become infected. Now wheres the nearest river?"

"About a mile from here."

"Can you make it?"

"Yeah." He said stubbornly.

Kagome smiled, and breathed in deep.

"Okay then."

The day was approching fast, and the hanyou was still running. He couldnt waste a moment. In only a short matter of time, he would be transformed into his human shape. How was he going to find Kagome like this? He couldnt smell her scent. His running wasnt nearly as fast in his hanyou form.

What if he was attacked? All he had was his mortal strength. What if an enemy saw him? They would know his weakness.

His head was swaming with 'what if's'. Questions that he didnt have an answer too.

'I just have to keep going. I have to find Kagome...'

He pushed the question to the far reaches of his mind. One that just wouldnt leave him alone.

'What if I cant find her?'

InuYasha closed his eyes. For a moment he tried to think of life with out Kagome.

To live with out her laughter. To never look into her delicate eyes. To never hold her in his arms late at night. But worst of all. To never see her smile.

How could he live with out her? She was apart of him now. And he refused to loose it.

Why did tragidy always seem to strike him? He had thought he had found love, and then they betrayed one another. All in all a jealous plot of Naraku.

And when he finally did find love- true love, she had to be taken away? It just didnt seem fair...'Naraku, I swear, I'm going to kill you. If not for what you did to Kikyo, then what you've done to Kagome... What you've done to me.'

"Kaeda?"

The old woman smiled warmly. She had just returned with a pail of water to start breakfast when Shippo had suddenyl awoken.

"What is it child?" she asked.

"Do you think they've found Kagome yet?" His voice sad.

Over the past few days Shippo had done nothing but mope. A smile never once graced his face, and any chance of that seemed slim. Kaeda felt so sorry for the poor kitsune.

He had lost both his parents, and now he had lost Kagome too? She took pity on him.

"Im not sure." She looked down at him, his eyes were glossy from tears and large. "But InuYasha wont rest until he finds her."

This seemed to make Shippo relax a little bit.

"Stupid InuYasha." He said, folding his arms across his chest. "This is all his fault."

"Now Shippo. Ye shouldnt talk like that."

"He ran off with Kikyo. If he hadnt- Kagome wouldnt be gone!" He fired back.

"You must forgive my sister Shippo. She was not always so. And Im and sure Kagome will be found."

"I hope so." He said, sniffling.

Kaeda smiled.

"Why dont ye try and get some more rest." She added kindly.

Shippo nodded, then layed down on his mat.

'Kagome. Please come home soon.' He silently prayed as tears dribbled down his cheeks.

With in a matter of moments Shippo was asleep.

The old woman looked at him and sighed. He was so young and so innocent. Yet he had to suffer through so much. Losing his parents was one tragidy, but losing Kagome... Due to her sister. "

Sometimes Kikyo could be so self centered.

She turned her attention else where, trying to put the negitive thoughts out of her mind.

The river was a beautiful sight. It was tucked away deep in the forest hidden behind enormus stones. Kagome stood beside it for a moment, taking in the scenary.

Koga was so surprized to have seen Kagome standing before him when he had. For a moment he thought she was an illusion. After all, what would Kagome be doing there?

He had never dreamed that Naraku had secrectly lusted after her. He would have never thought that InuYasha would let her out of his sights long enough for ehr to be kid napped.

But here she was. Looking as beautiful as ever. And making a fuss over his wounds.

Koga was still in unbareable pain. His leg mucsle was completely torn, and other had gashes in various places. His arms were cut, as well as his cheek.

"Koga, lets wash off the dried blood, so I can see how bad the wounds are."

The wolf demon nodded in response.

Kagome stood up and offered him her hand. Shyly he took it, standing up only to lose his balance.

"Careful Koga." she said.

"Yeah." He mumbled.

Kagome helped Koga sit on the ground. His legs in the water, he began rub at his legs in an effort to remove the dirt and dried blood. After he was finished with that he moved onto his arms, then moved into the shade of a near by tree.

"Well the wounds arnt as bad as I thought they were." Kagome started, as she examined them, as he leaned againt the trees trunk. "But you lost a lot of blood. Thats why you feel so weak right now. I wish I had my supplies, then I could bandage your wounds."

"Its okay Kagome. I'll be alright."

"Koga! You lost so much blood-"

"I'll be fine. I just need to rest a while. By the morning, maybe even late tonight, these wounds will be gone. I heal differently than you Kagome. Im telling you I'll be fine."

She thought back to InuYasha. Yes she knew that as demons they healed quicker... But InuYasha still let her bandage him. No matter how small the cut...

"Okay." She said with a smile. "You rest then."

"Will you sit with me Kagome?" he asked, his cheeks flushed.

She gave a small laugh. "Sure."

Koga loved her laugh. Both inside and out he couldnt help but smile. When she was happy, he was happy/

Sitting herself down beside Koga, she leaned her head agiant the trunk and closed her eyes.

Koga watched as Kagome moved slightly in an effort to become more comfotable.

'Shes so beautiful...' He thought.

Kagome could feel his eyes upon her, but still she paid it no attention. Her thoughts were focused on InuYasha.

Was he looking for her? Was he close? Would she ever see him again?

The thoughts swarming her mind brought an uneasy feeling to her stomache. She bit on her lower lip, her eyes pressed shut.

Koga could feel her saddness. He looked towards her, and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Are you alright Kagome?"

"Yes. I'm okay..." She lied.

"Whats wrong?"

"Nothing!" She said, trying to put on a smile.

"Dont lie to me Kagome. What are you thinking about?"

"..."

He suddenly knew what was making her upset. It was InuYasha. He was always on her mind. When ever he proclaimed his love for her, it was InuYasha that had held her back from saying that same. The love for the hanyou came before his.

"Is it InuYasha?" He asked, his voice suddenly lower.

"Yes..."

"Is he looking for you?" His tone was one of defeat.

He knew he wasnt going to win. He knew that Kagomes heart belonged to InuYasha, and InuYasha alone.

Koga wanted all of her love. He didnt want to have and share her. Or force her feelings. No, she was to special, too beautiful. To pure. All he wanted, was that she was happy, and well taken care of.

Ofcoure, he wished that it was him. That he could be the one that could do all those things for her.

But the fact of the matter was, it wasnt him.

It was InuYasha. And he knew it would always stay that way.

"I think so." she said, a tint of hope in her tone.

"Tommorrow, I'll help you find him."

Kagome jolted up her head.

"Koga..."

The look in her eyes was one he would always remember. They were full of so much hope. She was silently thanking him, begging that she hadnt heard wrong.

Yes, he knew that it was not him who she loved. It was like a punch in his gut. Realizing this, was worse than any wound he had recieved on his life.

He was Koga, leader of his tribe! Never once had he been rejected. And in an instant he knew what Ayame felt like.

"I love you Kagome. And If you want to be with mutt face- so be it." He looked ahead. "As long as your happy."

"Koga..."
He was so sweet. So caring. So willing to please her, that he put her needs before his own. Why couldnt she love him?

'He isnt InuYasha'

"Thank you." She said smiling.

In return, Koga tried to smile back.

Leaning his head agiant the tree, he shut his eyes and tried to sleep, trying to wash away the pains of confession.

The day was early as InuYasha looked out into it. His hair black and his breath short. Yet he kept running. With out his demon powers, he had no sense of smell, and all he was left with were mortal instinct.

"Damn this body. How do they do it?" He spoke out loud.

His thoughts floated back to Miroku who occasinally ran- When Kagome was mad at InuYasha, she would take her seat upon Kirara behind Sango. Instead of on his back.

She could be so frightening when she wanted to be. She was always full of energy and happy. But when she was mad- She truely was one to be feared.

And it was always him that had put her that way.

But it was always due to saddness. Nothing was more tragic to him that.

Her eyes that had always been filled with laughter would suddenly become serious. And he would be filled with more guilt than any one person could be.

What would he do once he saw her again?

The hanyou stopped beside a tree to rest. His breathing was labored and his body covered in sweat.

InuYasha looked to the sky and thought. When was the last time he had eatten? the last time he had slept? He would be no use to Kagome if he wasnt caring for himself.

He went off to the river, and caught fish. The task was doubally harder in his human form.

All the while his thoughts raced about how much time he was loosing.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kikyo wandered in the ample amount of trees. She had nothing else to do. How else was she to find InuYasha? She knew that he was searching for her. And he wouldnt stop until he brought her saftly back home.
'Home' she repeated in her mind 'He will be taking her back to MY home. To my sisters home no doubt. She has stolen every thing.'
Kikyo could feel the fear from Kagome when Naraku had kidnaped her. It was a sickening feeling, and for the first time inyears, she felt ill. Not because the souls had left her.
Not because jealously had over whelmed her.
But because fear had stricken some where deep with in her- the emotion so strong it turned her stomache.
But she didnt feel such a feeling from Kagome now-
No, she felt Kagome was in a sense of ease.
Maybe she had already found InuYasha. Or his companions. What ever was going on with her, she was happy.
Kikyo looked up into the sky.
Oh how she had changed. Never before in her earlier years would she had schemed such a plan.
But here she was now- carrying out a plan that would end up hurting Kagome- simply for her benifit.
It was hard to believe there was once a time when she was pure.
As she walked on she saw a stream up ahead. The day was already hot, and the water was looking more inviting by the second.
She walked over and knelt. Cupping the cool liquid in her hands she splashed it on her face. She watched as the water rippled then finally settled.
Looking into her reflection was a truely tramatizing expirance.
She had not aged. Although small facial differences were noticable, she looked the same.
Made from clay- she will always remain the same.
All those around her aged. Grew old. Lived life as normal people. She would forever be stuck in the same shape. Beautiful it may be- it lacked warmth and kindness.
And a soul.
She could never grow old with some one, Age gracefully- For how can one do that with the dead? The only option- the only way she would be able to be loved- is through InuYasha.
Where was he now?
The woman stood up and kept moving on.
Koga awoke long before Kagome had. He staired at her sleeping figure. She was truely beautiful. Her black hair fell gracefully over her face. Reaching over he pushed the silkly locks away.
He was content. If this is all the would ever have- Then so be it.
Kagome was not his. Nor had she ever been.
But he wished it. Never had there been some thing that he wanted- and not obtained. He supposed there was a first for every thing.
What was it she saw in InuYasha?
He was rude, shallow, secrective- and hardly loyal to her feelings. The mutt left for that dead miko every time.
Yet still Kagome gives her heart to him.
She truely was an angel.
Kagome felt a hand brush over her face as she slowly left the dream relm. She inhailed deeply. The scent rushing toward her was one of crisp air and pine trees.
"Morning Kagome!" Koga said
She looked up, still a little in a haze.
"Hi Koga." She said, sititng up and stretching her arms. "Have I been asleep long?"
"Only a few hours."
She smiled and Koga instintly felt a blush come to his face.
"Do you want to get going now Kagome?" He said blankly. He had promised after all, hadn't he?
She nodded in reponse.
"Yes!"
Koga stood, then brushed off himself.
He extended a hand to Kagome.
She smiled taking it.
"Hop on my back."
The raven haird woman nodded.
Off the two went- at the speed of a tornado.
It was not to long before they had reached Kaedas villiage. The familar surrondings had almost brought tears to Kagomes eyes- but she kept them back.
Shippo, catching her scent, ran out side the old mikos hut.
"What is it child?" She asked, startled.
"Kagome!! Its Kagome!!" He screamed with joy.
Koga came to a stop, and he carefully let her off of him.
She had barely made it on the ground when the kitsune jumped onto her.
"Kagome!" he cried "Where were you! Ive been so worried about you!"
Holding Shippo, hearing his childish cries of excietment, Kagome could feel the tears start to fall down her cheeks.
"Im okay now- Thats all that matters. Ill explain later." She said. Higging the kitsune close to her, she smiled.
"Ive missed you so much Shippo!"
"Ive missed you too Kagome! Ive been so worried! And InuYasha-"
"Where is InuYasha?"
"He-"
"He has gone off to look for ye. I am glad to see you are back safe." Kaeda said.
Kagome turned to the wolf demon.
"Koga- Will you help me find him? Your my only hope..."
"How can I say no to you Kagome?" His voice was a sad one, one of defeat.
"Go? Kagome you CANT go!"
"But Shippo! I have to!"
"Kagome!!" He protested. He had just lost her! Now she wanted to leave him again?
"I'll be fine Shippo. Kogas with me. And we have to find InuYasha- And Sango and Miroku! have you seen them?"
"No..." he gave in a sad reply.
"Ill be just fine. And home soon! With the other." She said with a soft smile.
Once again the kitsune watched as the one person he loved above all others walked away.
