Kagome awoke, eyes sore and head throbbing. There was a certian sense of fear over whelimg her, as sleep filled eyes focused."Kagome!" He called. Strong arms held her. "Kagome! Can you hear me? Are you alright?""Inu... InuYasha..." Her voice weak, her strength showing no sign of returning. "Are we...? Naraku....""You won't have to worry anymore Kagome. Its over."The woman let out a sigh of relief.Over. It was finally over.She had been running from Taro when she came upon Koga. It had been one misfortune after the other until the wolf demon came into her sights.He had saved her, brought her to InuYasha. Sacrifced his love, so she could give her own. He deserved some one beautiful, with a soul so giving it could match his own passion.The strong mans face gave a twitch. "I can smell him" He said in a gruff voice.With that, he ran faster, as the presist held on all the more tight. She closed her eyes, hiding her face against the harsh wind cutting through her. Within what felt like only a few moments, she heard the voice of the man she had been dreaming of."Kagome!" His eyes bright, his tone hopeful."InuYasha! Oh Inuyasha!" She ran to him. Faintly, he made out the sound of Koga exiting, his final goodbyes, telling him to take care of her.He pulled her close, and held tight. She had a mixture of scents upon her, all new, and his own lessend."Im so sorry Kagome. Forgive me. What happened?"She began to unravel the tale that she had lead through. With much restraint InuYasha listened. He controlled his anger as she told of all the danger and sexual encounters she had come upon since her leave. His eyes glared for a moment as she retold of Taro. Pulling her closer, he spoke in a gruff voice."Never again Kagome. No one will EVER touch you again. Ive promised this so many times, but believe me Kagome. No one. Will touch you.""InuYasha..." She looked into his eyes. Enraged, hurt. Possessive. Slowly, she began to feel him comming closer. Her eyes closed and his lips graced her own. A strong arm wrapped around her back, one creeping to her cheek. This is what she wanted. This is what her dreams had always held. She questioned if this was just another illusion. Was this real?It had been a snap decision, if you could call it that. He was fearless now, having already made the first move in a previous time. She had a look of longing in her eyes, a look of need, one he simply could not resist. Without thought, leaving all insecurities aside, he had leaned in, and kissed her.Never had he found a place more magical and peaceful. His heart was in bliss.So into the moment, his arms moved around her, as he felt her body adjusting to the attack. She had one hand cupped, breifly touching his cheek, the other resting on his neck. For a moment, life was without danger, and for a minute, both without care.The things that weighed so heavily upon their mind were anything but present, as lust took underway.They had decieded to take the day off, just them two. To talk, to think. To love.She had cooked the dinner, and they had talked. Laughed, and shared tender moments.
The day came to a close, as she rested in his lap, dreams taking over.He ran his hand through her hair. When had she melted his heart?When he held her hands, she didnt flinch. Before he had met her, he was brutal; unfeeling, and bitter.Now, he had a reason to live, other than a jewel.He had to live for Kagome.She needed him, as much as he needed her.With out her, he could easily keep his promise to Kikyo, yet she- Kagome makes him want to live. He would never leave her.How could you leave some one, so kind as to see past the hard exteriour that he had put up? Only she could. She was the one.He wanted to wake her from her sleep just to tell her.'No. I want to do it just right. I want to tell her I love her-...I love her. 'It was strange to hear him admit it- Strange to think he would confess it.She stirred. Aroused from his thoughts, he noticed something swift- a change.He growled. "Show yourself." He demanded.But nothing came about. She was calling him, with in her dreams.From the way she struggled, she was being attacked."INUYASHA!" she called.Suddenly, the jewel shards around her neck began to glow. He awoke in a world, surronded by black forest.Two scents, one very dear to his heart, and the other so strong that anger pulsed through his viens.Two voices, one screaming. The girl he loves. Calling for him. Without thought, he ran."NARAKU!" With a look of shock upon his face, the demon fled from the girl, moving to the side.Disbelief came across her face. "Inu... InuYasha..."He stepped infront of her.

"What are... How did you...""I dont know Kagome, but all for the better."Naraku launched an attack.InuYasha stood firm, with one in mind.The back lash wave.It came forth, shooting at Naraku in a thousand different angles.He fell fallen, broken, defeated.InuYasha wasted no time in ripping him to shreads.He turned to Kagome, who had fallen faint.

"Ill let you get some sleep.""No- InuYasha, dont leave me.""I wont ever again." She closed her eyes, as he sat beside her, keeping watch.********************************************************************* The day was warm and kind. They started out walking back to Kaeda. Things had been a bit awkward to them, until Kagome stopped, and wrapped her arms around the hanyou. He had not known how she would react to their closeness, now that the day had started, and life was back to normal.He had almost forgotten she wanted to love him, as much as he wanted to love her.She looked up at him, and smiled. Suddenly, all his cares had left.
