Yes, I started another fiction I don't know what to do with Mother Kaede right now. Constructive criticism is advised please.

Disclaimer: The characters of Inuyasha do not belong to me. I wish they did. I could live happily with all the money I made off of them if they belong to me. They belong to Rumiko Takahashi.

Chapter one: Time off

A man was sitting in his office listening on the phone. On his face was a look of resignation. It had been a long four years. He was tired of fighting, they all were. Alas, in the end he had enough of it and won. He obtained the Shikon no tama, the world priceless jewel. After all it belonged to him. He also helped gained back his family's business and now his brother Sesshomaru is the rightful CEO to the multimillion-dollar empire. The hotel business has been booming. He also cleared his father's name, and the legacy of the Takahashi's will continue.

Destroying his foe brought satisfaction to the Takahashi's. Naraku was a conniving bastard. Ruined his father's life. It was his manipulations that cause Inutashio to blow his own head off. Justice was done, and now Naraku is in prison, for embezzlement and slander. The company itself was salvaged and now back in order.

Things aren't 100% however. Justice didn't come not without a price. His family was lost in the middle of it all. All this because of one man, the same man who tried to destroy his life.

"It has been done. There is nothing more you can do." The voice of his lawyer and most trusted friend said consolingly.

"I'll sign the papers just as long as she settles with the two point five million and the house in London." He replied.

"That is all she wants Yash, she will comply she just wants to start over." The lawyer said.

'Wants to start over without me.' He thought bitterly.

It was his fault it happened. He knew where her heart was in the beginning. She loved another, but he needed a trophy wife. One who was honest and wouldn't sleep around scandalizing his name. He figured they would last like all the countless other love-less marriages did around him. But it didn't. Instead she found herself no longer denying her love to Naraku. Instead he found his enemy in his own bed. Instead his best friend who was his wife left him.

Naraku didn't stop with his schemes. He then betrayed Kikyou. She soon found out that her love for him was one-sided, and she was just a pawn in his web of deceit. Once she found that out, She wanted to get away and leave Japan forever. Not that Inuyasha blamed her.

Sure they had signed a prenuptial. She wasn't a greedy person. He knew that wouldn't be fare for her to leave her with nothing. She was forced into this whole arrangement. By her marrying him, she was able to help her sick mother pay for all the medical bills. Funny money can seduce just as well as people. So he signed the divorce papers, and told her that he would allow her to have one of their homes of her choice and a handsome amount of money to live comfortable for a long time.

"Call her lawyer and tell him I'll sign." Inuyasha said referring to the living will and legal documents that his mother in law wanted him to sign for her health care. Just because he divorced Kikyou didn't mean he was heartless.

"Good. So are you still going away?"

"Yes for a month, I wont have my cell on me, but you can get a hold of me via email." Inuyasha said getting up turning the phone on to speakerphone. He started clearing his desk off.

"Well, I was wondering since you are now a free man......."

"Don't go their Miroku." Inuyasha warned his friend, glaring at the phone as if it were the man.

"Don't act broken up about it Yash, you and Kikyou were more like bother and sister instead of husband and wife. When were the last time you had..."

"None of your business, and for the record, I though I am not worried about relationships because I didn't need one in the first place." Inuyasha said irritably.

"Whatever, have fun and do me a big favor, leave the cabin once in a while for me ok? You never can tell you may find some snow bunnies to play with." Miroku said smoothly

"Whatever. I'll talk to you later." He said and hung up without hearing a good by. He got his briefcase and left heading to the airport.

Two weeks later

Kagome blinked and looked behind her. She slowly turned around in a 360. 'I am in a big mess this time.' She thought fearfully. She had no Idea where she was. She had no idea where she was going. Her sense of direction was missing since the avalanche, and she barely skied out of danger.

The snow would not let up, and what made things worse her heart froze at the sight of the sun setting. 'I can't die out here!' Her mind screamed as she continued her journey. 'I have been skiing since I was 10 I can get out of this.' she refused to give into pity. she continued her trek through the virgin white landscape of snow.

She was alone, lost and scared to death at the thought of not being near civilization. Her small pack she carried in her snow suite was gone, with it was her phone, and credit cards. Not that the credit cards could do any good in a situation like this, she just didn't like the idea of her being unprepared.

She was unsure of the direction of the ski lodge, whether she was heading towards it or away from it. She blindly went to the slops out of anger and frustration. It was his entire fault. 'Hojo.' she thought thinking of her ex-boyfriend.

The reason why they were on this trip was because of him. They had been dating for four years, and he wanted to marry her. two months ago, she caught him with another woman and broke things off. His reply is it didn't mean anything, and that he had needs.

Despite their fight he wanted her back and couldn't bare the thought of her without him. So he brought her to his Swiss lodge so they could spend quality time together. He wined and dined her declaring his undying love for her. Well he claimed he loved her. She almost forgave him. Right when she was going to get back with Hojo, she catches him in bed with their big chested room cleaner.

"Hojo! If I die you are going down with me. I'll....I'll haunt you forever do you hear me you bastard." She screamed. The more she skied, the more she blamed herself for her plight. Rich people are selfish people. She knew this, yet dated Hojo. Whatever rich people want they get.

"Well, I am not ever going to fall for another money grubbing fancy pants man again." She declared then huffed. Knowing that it would do no good to make this promises. Survival is the most important thing, so she continued on.

Sometime later she was leaning against a tree trunk with her eyes closed. She needed to contain her anger, for she felt like screaming at the top of her lungs. That would probably cause another avalanche, and the next time she may not make it out a live.

She wearily adjusted her skies and headed toward the trees taking off making sure she would avoid hitting any trees. In a distance she saw a small building. She couldn't tell if it was a small barn or cabin, whatever it was going to give her shelter for a while.

She quickened her pace, eager to find refuge. If only it were daylight, she would have avoided a root. That caused her to tumble forward down the slope. One of her skies dislodged automatically and the other clung to her foot. When she got back up she came to a stop when she felt sharp pains running up and down her ankle.

If she made it back home in one piece, she would turn everything around. She would finish school and become a nurse like she wanted. She would ignore Hojo and his rich spoiled friends. No more men, no more rich people, hello regular life. She then saw that the building was a cabin and there was a dim light in the window. She was almost there!

Tears fell freely when she looked around for the missing ski only to find nothing. Kagome forced herself forward hobbling toward shelter, using her skies as crutches along the way.

"Help me please" She sobbed collapsing in exhaustion on the door. The door opened and she fell forward, but was caught immediately. She knew from the voice and the strength that her savior was a man, a man with a soothing voice. Her eyes refused to open and she sighed in contentment when she was enveloped in warmth.

It felt incredible to be out of the cold. So good that she felt like snuggling the man even more. She was carefully placed on a sofa that was so big and comfy that she could just sleep. That Idea was going to be soon realized. She slowly began to drift into a deep slumber, when she felt two strong arms start to shake her violently.

"Who the hell are you, and what are you doing out here?"
