Chapter 5 Things start to cool down or heating up?

Kagome looked at Inuyasha, and blinked. And blinked again. "Um, your 58 years old. Are you kidding me?" She couldn't deal with the thought being attracted to someone who’s old enough to be her father. He looked about maybe 5 years older at most. But 58, this it too much.

"That’s right Kitten. 58 years old. You know, I look pretty young for my age don't I." Inuyasha smiling at her. She didn't know what to say to that statement. She looked at his ears flickering back and forth and realized something.

"So because you are a demon, you age differently right?" She asked. He busted out laughing and walked into the living room. She narrowed her eyes at his behavior and felt her blood pressure rise. Forgetting her hurt leg, she stormed into the living room. She had her mind set on giving him a piece of it.

"Ok why do you insist on teasing me? Is it enough that I am stuck here with you...?” She started but stopped when she saw him putting on his boots. "Where are you going?" She asked confused, looking out the window hoping that the snow stopped. It didn't instead it looked like it wasn't slowing down anytime soon.

"Well, the last I remember, this is my home, and I could go as I please. I have work I must do, so if you don't mind kitten, I will be right back. You can bitch at me later." He pulled his jacket on then turned to the door. "Oh and one more thing, you are not stuck with me, you need to remember I am stuck with you.” He said shutting the door.

"Oh he's going to get it." She said stomping her foot, and instantly regretting it. "Damn him, this is his fault." She whimpered hobbling to the couch to sit down. She knew that he at times would leave to work outside. She then thought about it and sighed. 'He must be a caretaker on this land.' She thought. Her mind started to wander on that thought, and she visualized a mansion stationed several acres away.

Because of her being lost in the blizzard her wandering around aimlessly; she didn't see all the land surrounding this cabin. She then thought of how isolated Inuyasha is from the rest of the world and shuttered. She had been lucky to meet Hojo, and introduce her to so many things and societies of life. That is one of the few redeeming qualities Hojo had. But Inuyasha seems to like being here, and seemed rather put off when she arrived. But she hoped by now, he was glad she was around. That he might have the same feelings of attraction as she had.

Inuyasha picked a good time to shovel the walk. Being cooped up in the house with her was getting to him. He never was opposed to one night stands, but that wouldn't be the case for them. His demon body screamed, demanded that he took her. And his heart told him that he could be too easily attached to her. He then reasoned that she was too high maintenance and didn't want to deal with another relationship.

But he couldn't help looking at her, or catching her scent and how it clung to a room. She didn't even know what she was doing to him, just being there. So he is out here shoveling, wasting time, and calmed down

"Hello, Hojo?" Kagome started the conversation. She knew sooner or later she needed to talk to him. She had nothing better to do and she felt better calling him when Inuyasha was gone. Somehow it felt less complicated.

"Kagome? Are you alright? Where are you? What number are you calling from? I have been trying to reach you on your cell." He ranted, sounding concerned. And he was. He couldn't enjoy Anja like he wanted with Kagome missing.

"I am ok; I don't really know where I am. But I have been staying in a caretaker's cabin. He's been taken care of me." She replied to him.

"What! He the caretaker's a man?"

"Don't worry; Inuyasha is 58 years old, what would he want with me?" She replied smoothly happy to give him that information. Though she didn't like the idea of him being that old, she did like to say that to Hojo. 'Why should he care, he's with that bimbo anyway.' She thought.

"If he's 58, then should you be calling this man by his first name? OK, whatever, are you alone right now? What are you doing in a servant's home anyway, Kagome? Is this person there now? Is he bothering you?" Hojo stood up and started pacing. It didn't sit well that she was alone with some grubby cabin person. Thoughts ran rampant in his mind of the scenario. Who knows what this person would do to a girl like her. "Let me talk to the asshole Kagome." He said anger razing.

Kagome took the phone away from her ear. It was just like him to over dramatize the situation. Right when she was going to bring it back to talk to him, the phone was snatched from her hands.

"Inuyasha! What are you doing?" She asked trying to take the phone back. He ignored her and walked into another room talking to her ex. What did he have to say to Hojo? Is he going to make things even worse? She got up and followed him.

"She is ok; I made sure that she has stayed off her foot, and rest. No, she doesn't know. Ok, do you want to talk to her?" He finally asked looking at Kagome. He walk to her and handed her the phone.

"I have the phone number now, so I'll be contacting you periodically, I'll get you out of that hellhole alright? Don't worry we will work things out." He assured Kagome. She bit her lip at his statement and concern, but then gasped when she heard a giggle in the background. She then heard a muffled shhhh. That was the straw that broke the camel's back.

"Don't worry Hojo, I'll get myself out of this mess, and I'll get myself home. Just leave my passport and things at the front desk Hojo. Oh and do me a favor, FORGET THIS PHONE NUMBER WE ARE THROUGH HOJO. DON'T TALK TO ME AGAIN YOU TWO-TIMING BASTARD!" she yelled hanging up on him and throwing the phone across the room. The phone cracked and hit the ground broken. Kagome stared at it and huffed at it.

"So are you going to pay for it?" Inuyasha asked eyeing his broken.

"Look I am sick of you too. Leave me..." She started but stopped when she looked at his face. His bangs were covering his eyes, and his chin was tightened as if he were holding something back.

"We are suppose to be adults, am I right? Yes you are 20 years old not two. I don't give a fuck what you and your boy toy’s issues are. You answered my question wrong, so I'll say it again. Are you going to pay for my fuckin phone?" He said looking at her dangerously.

"Look, I am sorry that I broke your stupid phone, I was pissed and lost it." She said gritting her teeth. She felt guilty at her behavior. She lost herself in midst of her and Hojo's fight. She knew that she should be grateful for his help and care. And she knew better than to do that. Breaking things usually wasn't something that she did.

"You still didn't answer my question." He stated staring at her, licking his lips. Kagome regarded her situation, and started to blush. He took a step closer. She backed away hitting the wall with her back.

"Um, yeah when I get home....I'll send you payment." He shook his head and took another step closer. "Ok, well I don't have money on me now; I lost my money purse and my cell phone. That's the only way I can." She replied having hard time breathing. He stood just about an inch away from her. He shook his head again and reached for her face.

"Oh no Kitten." He purred. "You will need to pay up now." He said as he closed their distance.
