Rika's POV

“Miroku, you baka!”

“God, what did I do wrong now?! I just got through the frickin' door…”

I closed the door to drown down the yelling. Then I put my music up really loud to drown the voices out completely. I flopped on my bed and stared at the ceiling.

Another day, same routine. I got home, did my homework, and as soon as dad got home, the yelling commenced.

It really got tiring after the first 3 months of their continuous bickering. They'll fight about anything. It's good to stay away when they're fighting and to stay in your room so you won't hear.

But shit. I had to go to the bathroom.

I stepped out into the hallway. I couldn't help but stop and look over the banister into the foyer where they were arguing.

“So what if I've been getting home late lately?!”

“Because how do I know you're not cheating on me again?”

“For the last time, you didn't see me push her away! Besides, I've been having to work overtime to pay for those damages Rika did do to the science lab at her school!”

I winced at that. Shit. Technically, I'd provoked this argument.

“Besides, Sango,” Dad continued to yell. “If you're so worried I'm cheating on you, why don't you get off your fat ass for once and earn money!”

“Watch your mouth! Kari's in the other room.” Mom said angrily looking into the living room, where my 5-year-old sister was watching TV, probably in fear.

“Why should I?! You swear like that while watching your soaps while sitting on your FAT ASS !”

“I loathe you, Miroku!”

“Then why did you marry me?!”

“Because you weren't such an ass back then. You just groped them!” Mom fled into her room, which was on the ground floor. She really touched a nerve.

“Will you stop throwing that in my face?! I was stupid back then!”

“And you still are!” I heard Mama screech before she slammed the door shut.

And I couldn't help but thinking Mama was right about that one.
