A/N: okay here is the next chapter. See the plot does thicken, you just have to sort of wait for it to grow. Please review! I need reviews. I feel so unappreciated sometimes. O well. Now on with the story.

 

Chapter 12

 

“Are you admitting to him looking after you dog breathe?” Kouga said walking past him.

 

“No!” Inuyasha said glaring at the boy. “I can take care of myself!”

 

“Come on Inu.” Kouga said pausing at the doorway. “We all know how it was to lose our parents. Remember… we were all there.”

 

“Yeah.” Inuyasha said following Kouga into the garage.

After a few rigorous hours of practice, Sango set down her bass and sat down on the cool carpet of the garage. “Those are great songs.”

 

“Yeah. We've all written these lyrics.” Kagome said motioning to Kasha and Kya. “We'll just say we've been through a lot since we've known each other.”

 

“Well I think we should play one more song.” Kasha said stretching. “The second song you guys learned.”

 

“Okay I'm up for anything!” Rin said tapping lightly on her drums.

 

Sango sighed and picked up her bass again. “Let's rock.”

 

 

Kasha started of with a slow tune, swaying back and forth.

 

Kagome grabbed the microphone and leaned forward singing softly. “Stay with me
You're the one I need” She took a breathe and spoke again “You make the hardest things
Seem easy”

 

Rin picked up the light beat.

”Keep my heart
Somewhere drugs don't go
Where the sunshine slows
Always keep me close”

 

Kagome pulled away and nodded to Sango. Kya and Kasha picked up the rifts as Sango started to strum the chords of her bass.

”If only you could see
The stranger next to me
You promise you promise that you're done
But I cant tell you from the drugs”

Kagome put more emotion into her voice, closing her eyes to hide the tears that were coming forward.

 

“Don't let go
Well dig a great big hole
Down an endless hole
We'll both go

You're so blind!
You can't save me this time
Hope comes from inside
And I feel so low tonight”

Everyone picked up the pace for the chorus once again. Kasha and Kya leaned up to their mics and sang the chorus with Kagome.

“If only you could see
The stranger next to me
You promise you promise that you're done
But I can't tell you from the drugs

This face in front of me
You're sorry you swear it you're done
But I can't tell you from the drugs

Kasha and Kya took their turns with the lyrics, Kagome waited.

“(take me) I need your help
(so far away) To pull me up take the wheel
(take me) Out from me
(so far away) Out from me”

Kagome joined the other two taking the lead.

 

“(Take me) If only you could see (I need your help)
(So far away) The stranger next to me (To pull me up take the pain)
(Take me) You promise you promise that you're done (Out from me)
(So far away) But I can't tell you from the drugs (Out from me)

(Take me) I wish that you could see (I need your help)
(So far away) This face in front of me (To pull me up take the wheel)
(Take me) You're sorry you swear it you're done (Out from me)
(So far away) But I can't tell you from the drugs (Out from me)”

Kagome took a breathe and whispered into the mic.
”Keep my heart
somewhere drugs don't go
Where the sunshine slows
always keep me close”

 

Kya finished strumming the last notes of the song and let go of her guitar. She pulled it off and set it on the stand. She moved over next to Kagome. “You okay?”

 

“Yeah. I'm fine.” Kagome said putting the mic back on the stand. Anyone who had demon blood could smell the salty tears she was ready to shed in the middle of the song.

 

`Why does this song make her so sad?' Inuyasha said letting go of the chair he was sitting on. He hated when people cried and it was hard not to just rush over to Kagome and comfort her. Removing his hands from the chair and replacing them in his lap revealed deep indentions of his hands in the chair.

 

“I think that's enough for today.” Kasha said setting her guitar down. A strong force pulled her back onto a warm soft surface.

 

“I think so too.” Kouga said putting his chin on her shoulder.

 

“Keep thinking that wolf.” Kasha said scratching behind his ear causing him to emit a low growl sounding suspiciously like a purr. She flicked his nose and he let go of her to hold his nose. She took this chance to stand up and move next to Kagome. “You won't get far.”

 

Kouga growled as Sesshomaru and Inuyasha broke into bouts of laughter. “Burrrnnnn!” They said in unison.

 

“Whatever.” Kouga said getting up and following the girls out of the garage. “You still are a bunch of flee ridden dogs.”

 

“Your dead!” Inuyasha said running after Kouga who slammed the garage door in his face.

 

“Nice job smart ass.” Sesshomaru said opening the door and walking past his brother who was currently cradling his nose.

 

“Keh.” Inuyasha replied dusting himself off and following them out. “Why am I the one who always gets hurt?”
