Where was she? I woke up, again alone in this room. I should be used to this by now but after last night I thought there was still hope for me. Did she get moved to another room? I got out of the bed and went to the door. Opening it, I entered the hallway. This is the first time I have ever been out of my room. I never did trust the world outside. " Kagome!" I turn to the voice and find that Sango is in the entertainment room, it was the first thing I saw when the nurses took me and my mom here. I ran to her and entered the room. " Kagome, do you know what time it is?" I shook my head as I watched her go back to playing a play station game. " Silly its 11:00"

 

" Really? Do you know when we fell asleep?"

 

" Didn't check but it was probably late. The nurses said that it was the latest you've ever fell asleep."

 

" How did they know."

 

" They know because its required information that the doctors ask for from your parents." Is my whole life on record? I can't have a minutes peace anywhere but then I really don't want to be left alone to get it. " Stop worrying, Kags."

 

" Kags?"

 

" Its a nickname. Don't you like it?" A nickname is what friends give to other friends. Was Sango my friend then?

 

" I love it." I really did. Sango is the only one to make me happy.

 

" Great, lets play some video games until our heads split."

 

" I don't think so Sango." A man's voice? I turned around but saw no one. Who called her name?

 

" Kagome, whatcha looking at?" I turned to face her but instead all I saw was gold. It startled me and I fell.

 

" Hey you ok." I nodded, damn my butt was sore. I looked up, first I saw jeans, then white strains, and then a red button up shirt. I couldn't help but stare when I got to the man's face. He was hot! He offered me his hand, and I couldn't move! I just sat on my butt and stared at his golden colored eyes! Then I saw something, I couldn't help the smile that came to my face! There on top of his head, two cute dog ears twitched back and forth!

 

" Hey Kagome!" That snapped me out of it. I finally took his hand and he lifted me up, making me lean against him when I was completely up. Ok, he didn't make me, I felt like it. " Kagome, meet my brother Inuyasha."

 

" Hi." I squeaked and I knew it, I heard it and he just smirked at me. What nerve!

 

" Hey Inuyasha, were is Kikyo?"

 

" Its over and don't ever tell me I don't listen to you." He stepped away from me, I almost fell. Why did he do that all of a sudden.

 

" I know thats not the reason."

 

" Bitch cheated on me with Naraku."

 

" Eew gross!"

 

" Is he that bad." I know it wasn't my business but I hate feeling left out.

 

" Yea he is! He has long greasy hair, and wears a baboon pelt. His eyes are red and he smells worst than Inuyasha."

 

" Hey." I giggled, for the first time I gave in to that piece of happiness. " You too? Sango your turning your friends against me!" Friends. He put it that way, would she?

 

" Of course! I have to warn all my friends about you." I have a friend. Me of all people. How did this happen? It was because I wasn't afraid. For the first time I talked to someone without being afraid.

 

" O really now, Kagome was it." I felt my cheeks redden, He only said my name! I couldn't talk so I nodded my agreement.

 

" Well Kagome, Sango snores, doesn't like to bath, and hates dogs." What? She didn't smell bad.

 

" Hey I do not snore and I love taking baths."

 

" What about the dog part Sango?" She didn't say anything to that and well I was curios.

 

" O thats the only part thats true seeing as Inuyasha is one." He pouted, how cute. I couldn't help but watch as his ear got pinned to his head and he wined.

 

" Puppy dog, how original."

 

" Aw, sorry puppy." I watched as she started to pet his ears and he give out a growl. He really was a dog!

 

" Sango, you know I hate when you do that."

 

" So I wont, Kagome do you want to?"

 

" Wha, What?!"

 

" Keh, I know you want to. Everyone does when they first see them." I really want to! Inuyasha, your ears are so cute! I wish I had said it but I couldn't do anything! I know I'm catching flies. Thats when I felt it, his hand on mine. He guided me to his ears. He ran my fingers lightly against the tiny fur of its tips, then to where they were connected to his head. My heart was pounding and my face was hot. What was he doing to me? It ended all too soon, I heard my mom calling me. He let go of my hand and it felt, cold.

 

" Kagome there you are. The nurse told me you were walking about, I'm so glad. These your new friends? Whats their names?" Embarrassing!

 

" Hi! My names Sango and this is my brother Inuyasha."

 

" Hi Sango, Inuyasha. Wow you're ears are they real?" Can't she just stop! I have never seen her like this!

 

" Yea they are." He blushing, how cute!

 

" Can I touch them..."

 

" Mom I'm tired, how about we go back to the room?"

 

" Sure dear, need any help this time?" I need for you to shut your mouth!

 

" No. Mom. I. Can Do It." I took her by the arm as we headed out the door, I groaned when she yelled.

 

" Good bye Sango Inuyasha, isn't he cute Kagome?" I am going to die! I got to my room, shutting the door behind me. What was she thinking? Besides, Inuyasha was a demon. He would never go for a girl like her. " Your friends seem nice."

 

" Thats great mom." I was beyond mad. Why me?

 

" Sota will be coming to visit soon."

 

" Thats great mom."

 

" The world is heading for a black hole and we will never see the light of day again."

 

" Thats great mom." What, wait, hold it. " What?"

 

" Glad that got your attention. What are you thinking now Kagome? I didn't embarrass you did I?" No, you humiliated me. Is that the same thing?

 

" No, just thinking."

 

" Honey, you were never a good liar."

 

" Thats great mom." When did she get so, mother like? Was she always like this? I don't remember. Usually we wouldn't talk, I can't help but shut out the people that care. Is that why I feel alone?

 

" Kagome are you even going to pay attention to me."

 

" I have been mom. What possessed you to want to touch his ears?"

 

" They were so cute weren't they? They were cuter than buyo's."

 

" Thats because buyo is a cat, Inuyasha is a dog."

 

" Really, cute."

 

" Only you mom." She stood with me the rest of the day. I only saw Inuyasha one time after that morning. It was about six when he said goodbye to Sango, my mom, and me. My heart fluttered when he winked. My mom saw it but she said nothing. The three of us sat in our room watching hospital movies and TV shows, I never saw my mom so happy. Was it because I was happy? Was it because for the first time in years I am laughing and smiling?

 

" Dear its time for me to go. I wont be able to visit tomorrow. Will you be ok?"

 

" Yea mom, I got Sango to keep me company." A friend. I couldn't be happier.

 

" Ok dear, just make sure to get plenty of rest and do what the docters tell you..."

 

" Mom I know the drill, you said it eight times before you actually left yesterday." I smiled again, closing my eyes when she kissed my forehead, and softly saying my good byes as we did when I was at home. When my mom left I could feel some one watching me.

 

" So what do you think of Inuyasha?" I should have known she would do this to me.

 

" Why do you ask?"

 

" He thinks your cute." Me cute? I'm just lucky all my hair hasn't fallen off yet.

 

" Then he needs glasses."

 

" He's a demon, he sees better then all of us. So what do you think?"

 

" I thought he couldn't be with anyone from the outside."

 

" Its different for him." What?

 

" How so, Sango?"

 

" He's only half demon. Our family has sinned more than once, its only because Inuyasha's father is one of the headmen that they allow such things from him." So I can be with Inuyasha?

 

" And you didn't say this before?"

 

" Because he had a girlfriend. Now its ok. So stop beating around the bush, what do you think." I can't tell you that! He's your brother, well isn't he? Even if she was adopted.

 

" He's..." How do I explain this one?

 

" Its ok, you can tell me. My lips are sealed." Its not that Sango its you!

 

" Well, he's..." Just say it. " He's really hot." I sighed and now Sango was smiling like I had never seen her before, well I only knew her for a day.

 

" Aw, Kagome likes Yasha, Kagome like Yasha." Great, now its a chant! I laughed and pretended to hit Sango, maybe things will be alright? I have a friend and a guy who thinks I'm 'cute'. Maybe there is something to look forward to.
