Kagome, unknown to the others, was awake. She had kept the bag closely to her chest and no one knew it was there. She had only wanted her most valuable things, her family picture, a book, and her journal. "Hey, she has a bag, must have been what she was looking for in that house." Inuyasha said as he stood up from one of their couches and walked over to Kagome. He picked up the bag and carefully took out the things that were inside. Kagome was feeling a bit lonely as her things were taken away from her.

Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha's father and his mother looked at the contents. A picture with Kagome, her mother, brother, grandfather and a man. There were two books, a journal and a reading book. Inuyasha picked up the journal and put it back into the bag which was blue and looked at the book. It had all 4 of the books in the series 'Vampire Diaries: by L.J. Smith' together.((I don't own Vampire Diaries: by L.J. Smith either just so ya know.)) "How stupid, well at least she didn't go in the fire to get clothing like most girls I know." Sesshoumaru said in a cold voice. "Shut up. She might be able to hear us even though she is asleep." His mother said stomping on Sesshoumaru's foot.

Kagome rolled over, she thought it was a good time to mention that she wasn't asleep. She had been awake for hours and this, as far as she knows, is the 5th day she was supposed to be asleep. She sat up and everyone looked at her. She pretended to yawn and then she asked, "Where am I? All I remember is a lot of fire and smoke." She looked at them and recognized most of them to be the fighters that had been on her side so she knew that she might be ok. "Kagome, don't you remember what happened before you ran into the house?" Inuyasha's mother said in a soft voice. Kagome looked at her questioningly.((I'm going to give Inuyasha's mother and father a name, if you don't like them tough, I do.)) "What do you mean by that?" Mitsue, Inuyasha's mother, took Kagome and led her to the kitchen. "Kagome, your family was killed before you ran into the fire and saw them get killed." Kagome looked devastated. "No! Your lying! They would never die!" Inside she knew it was true, her family was dead, well, all but one, one person who hadn't come back after their stay in America, her sister Sana, but since Sana was in a mental ward she couldn't see her, she still didn't want to believe that it was true, but if it wasn't, then why didn't they come to pick her up yet? "I know its tough, my parents were killed as well, and your house is gone, but we are going to let you stay here since you haven't gotten any living relatives. Its not an adoption just a temporary stay since we know that as soon as you get old enough your going to want to get a house of you own." Kagome nodded and turned back to go to the living room. "I forgot to ask, what am I to do now?" Mitsue answered. "I'm going to get you dressed up in some of my old hammy downs because your clothing is a bit torn, then we are going to go shopping, so follow me." Kagome bent her head slightly to look at the ground and she saw her clothing, it true, her cloths were a mess, they were torn and burnt and her favorite shirt was no longer fit to be worn.

"Ka-" Inuyasha started to say but his father held him back. "She is a bit out of it now and would like it if we left her alone." He whispered to his son as Kagome walked past them.

As Kagome walked up the stairs she noticed something strange that she hadn't when she first arrived here. She looked at the stairs and saw that they were made of marble! The walls, everything, was made of marble. The inside of the house looked like a palace. 'But, it looks like a normal house on the outside!' She thought as she followed Mitsue to her room. She notices that there were more stairs but they stopped on the second floor. Mitsue turned to go into her room and Kagome followed. When she reached the bedroom she had to close her eyes. The room was filled with bright colors. The bed and its sheets were a bright red, the walls were red as well, only a little darker, the walls also had black swirl on it and bright blue flames. The dresser was the only thing that was white in the room and it had a white framed mirror on the top. The dresser had barrettes and combs with flowers on it and every other type of hair tie or scrunchy ever made. It had a dark purple brush on it with bristles that were frayed as though she'd had it for a while. "Now lets see…" Mitsue said as she dug through her closet for clothes. Her closet covered most of the wall and was filled to the brim with clothes. She pulled out a pair of Levies Jeans and a white T-Shirt with the picture of a black cat wearing a plaid hat and it has a red ribbon on the left shoulder. Mitsue picked up the clothes and pulled Kagome to the bathroom. When they reached it after walking for 5minutes around Mitsue turned on the faucet to the tub and poured bubble bath into the water which made the room smell like lilacs. The tub was made from crystal and the pipes from silver. The handles to the other plumbing and the doorknobs were crystal as well. Everything else was made of marble or silver. She stared in awe. "Yeah, I know it's a lot, but my husband really likes expensive things." Mitsue said and then smiled at her. "Uh…. Are you sure its ok for me to stay with you?" Kagome asked with hesitation in her voice. "Of course it is silly! Now, get in that tub and take a bath while I go and get some towels." She said laughingly putting the clothes on a counter as she walked away.

Kagome got undressed and sank into the tub. It was so deep the water almost swallowed her but soon she relaxed into the heated water. She sighed in content and closed her eyes as she sank below the surface of the water. She came up for air a few seconds later and picked up a brush that sat beside her. She brushed her hair out and sank to the bottom of the tub once more. She closed her eyes and stayed under for a bit longer than she did the last time. When she resurfaced she poured a bottle of shampoo into her hair and started to scrub. The water was already turning black from the dust that had collected in her hair and on her body. She winced as she brushed her hands over her right thigh and looked at it. It was a bright red color and so was a few more spots on her body, but her back was the worst. She guessed that she didn't feel the pain before because she was to numb over what had happened with her family and with the beauty of the house she was to live in for a short while. She realized that her hands were starting to prune up so she got out of the tub and took one of the fluffy warm towels and wrapped it around her. She took another of the towels and started to towel dry her hair. She looked at the floor. "A lot has happened lately, so much it makes my head spin." She said under her breath.

She opened the door up and looked down the hall for Mitsue. 'I guess she went back to the room.' Kagome thought as she started to retrace her steps back to the room. She looked in and saw Mitsue looking out the window at the site that had been her home. When she stepped over the threshold Mitsue turned around and closed the blinds. "You look absolutely stunning!" She exclaimed rushing over to Kagome. She gave her a bone crushing hug and let go. "Come now, its time to do your make up and hair." She pulled her over to a vanity sitting in the corner of the room and sat her down. She took out some blushes, eye shadows, and lipstick and started on Kagome's makeup. She used a light pink blush on her cheeks, a light red lipstick on her mouth, and light purple eye shadow on her eyes. She put her hair up into a ponytail and brushed it. This time pieces of burnt hair fell to the ground and Mitsue looked horrified. "We will get your hair done and cut at the mall. To bad mot people think your dead." She said half heartedly. "People think I'm dead?" Kagome asked on the edge of hysteria. "Yes, even though they only found you family, the authorities think you were burned in the fire." Mitsue said as though no of this fazed her in the least. "Then what should I do? I can't just walk into a mall and say that I have the name of a dead person?" Kagome panicked slightly. "Don't worry, I'll explain it to people, what happened and stuff. You are all done! Now lets go down stairs and show off to the boys!" Mitsue marched Kagome down the hall and to the living room where the boys were.

Inuyasha stood up once more and looked over to Kagome and stopped breathing for a moment. He couldn't say a thing so he just stood there looking dumb. 'She is beautiful!' He said in head. "Should I go along with you? Naraku might still try to attack Kagome.

"No thanks Inuyasha, I think we can handle ourselves." Mitsue said noticing how Inuyasha stared at Kagome. "We will be gone for a while, Kagome needs clothes." She said and marched Kagome out the door and to the car so that they could go to the mall.
