Chapter 3

Kagome was waiting in her driveway for her best friend to come so that they could go work on what her friend had asked her to do before they went to the race on her car. When it came to races Kagome likes to be there in time to see who she is going up against that way she knows what she has to do when she's out on the road already. It was already dark out. It was about to be 7:00 when Kagome started to get really impatient.

Kagome looked at her watch once again. It was now seven fifteen and Sango was still not there. When Kagome looked up she saw headlights pull into her driveway. She was almost blinded by this light and all she did was squint her eyes to see whom it was that had pulled into her driveway.

BEEP BEEP

"Hey girl!" Sango stuck her head out of her car. "Ready to go?"

"First of all where were you and second of all I've been being ready to go for almost a full hour now. By the way is this the car that you're going to race tonight?" Kagome went all around the car and jumped a bit when she heard the door close in front of her.

"Yeah! This is the new Mitsubishi Eclipse. Plus I spent most of the time I had since we came back from the mall workin' under the hood the whole time, nonstop."

"What did you do to it?" Kagome asked as she stared at her friend from the front of the car. Sango just quickly gave her friend a nod signaling that she was allowed to look under the hood to check out what she had done. Kagome got the hint and quickly opened it only to stare wide eyed at the engine. Sango had 4 small NOS hooked up there. (you can tell that I just finished watching fast and the furious right?!)

"Well it looks like you got everything already here what was it that you wanted me to do anyway?" Kagome asked confused. Her friend seemed to have everything she needed there so why did she need Kagome's help? Everything seemed to be just fine to her.

Sango looked up at her friend, "Look closer at the wires that connect the NOS to the engine." Kagome did as she was told, then she noticed the the wires seemed to…

"The wires look as if they are about to break." Kagome finished her thoughts aloud for her friend to hear. Sango nodded in agreement to her friend then continued.

"That's why I came. You see, I was hoping that you might have some spare good wires lying around your garage and help me with this little problem. But I have another favor to ask of you." Sango opened her door and motioned for her friend to open the passenger door as she unlocked the door. "You see…" Sango continued, "I was wondering if you would help me change the NOS from the front of the car to the passenger seat. Open it up and look. How much time do you think this is going to take because if its going to take a while then we might as well forget about is and just change the wires." Sango asked Kagome who was looking at the situation trying to figure out how much time it was going to take to finish the job.

"Well Sango all I know is that we have enough time to do all of that and get a bite to eat when we're done plus we are going to need a shower after wards so lets get started!" With that the girls got to work.

Meanwhile at Inu Yasha's house…

"So what are we going to do about those girls that we met at the mall? I mean they did invite us to the race." Miroku had over to Inu Yasha's house because Inu Yasha had called him over to tell him something "important" Inu Yahsa was pacing back and forth in the room right in front of Miroku while rubbing his chin which was making his guest very dizzy. (@_@) "Will you stop doing that its making me dizzy just watching you go back and forth again and again. Just what did you have to talk to me bout anyways that was so important I had to come really fast?" Miroku was looking at Inu Yasha dumbfounded when he said the word important while putting up his hands in surrendering mode and moving his index finger and middle finger up and down that made it look like this "important". (you get the point (*_*) )

Inu Yasha stopped suddenly at his guest's comment and just looked at him surprised but then he quickly started. "I called you because it seems that you have forgotten what race they invited us to" Inu Yahsa gave Miroku a cold glare as if he had a nitwit for a best friend. Miroku tried to think back to when they were eating lunch at the restaurant with the girls…

*Flashback*

"Hey I have a great idea!" an over-excited Kagome looked at the two boys with a face that she used to put on for her mom when ever Kagome wanted to go out with her friend to the movies so that her move couldn't resist but to say ok. "Why don't you guys come to our race tonight? It's at that big street in front of Tokyo Tower. You know the one."

*End Flashback*

"Oh! I see!" Miroku commented to his friend that had started his pacing once again in front of him. "So what are we going to do? Are we still going to or not? I mean `cause you should remember that your brother is going too and he did want to see you there?" Miroku waited patiently looking at his friend that had went to his room the came back dressed.

"Well I didn't really say I wasn't going so lets jet it starts in an hour and you know how my brother likes to see everyone that's gonna race." Inu Yasha took his motorcycle helmet and opened the door but stopped and then turned to face his friend. "You didn't tell me which car you were going to race." Inu Yasha looked at his friend waiting for him to speak.

"I'm racing my red Ferrari." Miroku said before he was out the door.

Back to the girls…

"So you ready? K lets go." Kagome grabbed her motorcycle helmet and then the two girls were off.

(finally the moment you have been waiting for) At the race…

Everyone was there that is except for his brother.

`What is taking that little half ling so long to get here? I hope that he didn't get caught once again trying to hurry on over here `cause if he did I swear I'm going to…'

His thoughts were cut off when a red and black motorcycle rushed towards him followed by a gray Eclipse. (you know who it is right? If you don't then go to the beginning of the chapter and start over.)

"Hey are you the one that called me and bet 1million dollars that you would beat me?" Sesshomaru asked the young woman in front of him. She took off her helmet and shook her head to let her hair run down past her shoulders and onto her back just a bit lower than her waist.

`Man! I didn't know that one of the racers I'm up against could be so beautiful when they're on a motorcycle. Especially wearing those kind of clothes.' Sesshomaru thought to himself. Kagome was wearing a black leather jacket that was buttoned at the bottom then zipped up half way up (im talking about the kind of jacket that lil kim wears in the I miss you video. You know that yellow and black one) with some tight blue low rider jeans (and im talking really low) and some tims along with a red bikini top that tied around her neck and along her back where the jacket was buckled. She was also wearing a black bandana over her hair.

"Maybe. So you up for it?" Kagome asked with a smirk as she noticed that he was looking her up and down. "So are you going to just stand there and look at me or are you going to answer my question so that we can leave already?!" Kagome was still smirking and then it turned into a friendly smile once he finally looked her in the eyes.

"Huh?!" Sesshomaru just looked at her a bit confused not knowing what to say being caught staring at someone. Then finally remembering what she said he just nodded and then turned to get on his motorcycle. He led the group all the way to the street in front of Tokyo Tower and then waited for the girls to finish putting out the lines.

"All right everyone you know the rules. The cars go first and then the motos got that?!" Sesshomaru yelled over the crowd as they began cheering on until the cars would be ready to go.

"I thought that they would come." Sango exclaimed to her friend over the roaring crowds.

"I thought that too but I guess that I was wrong lets just concentrate on what we're going to do tonight remember that I bet with Sesshomaru that you would win this race for 50grand so try not to lose out there ok just do your best to come in first got that?" Kagome reassured her friend that she would win the race and that the only reason that she bet with Sesshomaru was because she knew how much Sango loved to go shopping so the money was going to her if she won so to try and do her best not to lose this race.

Meanwhile at the starting line…

"Hey Miroku look whose racing against you tonight." Inu Yasha nodded his head over to the car that had just pulled up into the starting line and Miroku just followd where his friend had pointed to and the smiled.

"Looks like she's confident enough to race even after what happened at the restaurant this afternoon." Miroku stated.

"I wouldn't think of those girls as weak or girls that give up that easily you saw how they left Naraku and Kyouga. Speaking of those two have they even come? I haven't seen them around I guess that after that beating that they got from the girls that they decided not to show." Inu Yasha was smiling as he remembered everything that had happened earlier that day.

"RACERS ARE YOU READY?!" Sesshomaru called out from his motorcycle at the finish line through a talky.

"All right this is it good luck!" With that said Kagome went back to her motorcycle and then turned to watch the race.

"ON YOUR MARK! GET SET! GOOOOOOO!"

At that all the cars zoomed off towards the finish line. Miroku was in the lead when he saw a car go past him. He looked to see who it was and he saw Sango with her hair blowing like crazy in the wind listening to the radio all the way up listning to what sounded like Missy Elliot's Gossip Folks while wearing sunglasses.

Miroku was a bit surprised at the fact that she had already caught up to him but he knew that he wasn't about to let anyone beat him in this race let alone a girl at that. Miroku pushed the red button next to the radio to initiate the NOS and the car just vroomed off leaving everyone else behind.

`Too early!' Sango thought to herself when she saw the car go past her. She couldn't exactly tell who it was in that car because he had the windows up and they were tinted as well so it was hard for her to tell who was in the car. Sango then pushed the red button on the steering wheel and the car went past the car that was in front of her and then past the finish line. The crowd cheered as the car pulled up in front of them and then stopped right in front of Sesshomaru. The door opened and then a girl came out. Kagome rushed over to her friend and then they both went up to Sesshomaru and they looked at each other for a while and then Kagome spoke.

"So?! I think that our bet was 50grand. Am I right?" Kagome couldn't help but smile at the fact that everyone was looking at them as if they just rose from the dead. No one had ever dared to bet with Sesshomaru that a girl would win the race let alone for 50grand and then win that bet. It must have been the first time ever. Kagome looked at Sesshomaru and it seemed that he was a bit mad at the fact that he had just lost a bet to a girl. But he had to admit that the certain girl that he bet with was very confident and he did like the way she looked.

"Yeah you're right so here!" Kagome stuck out her hand waiting for him to put the money in her hand and when he saw this he just smiled and then grabbed her hand and pushed her towards him. Kagome gasped for air and then she noticed what he was trying to do. He was trying to scare her before the race but when she looked up into his eyes she saw that they were lustful. She pushed herself away from him and took the money then got on her motorcycle after she gave the money to her friend and then she looked back.

"So are you just gonna stand there or are we gonna race." She put on her helmet letting her hair stick out the end of it and then did a wheelie and headed towards the starting line followed by everyone else at the race.

`Man the nerve of that guy. Just because hes gonna race against me doesn't mean he could do whatever he wants with me either. Man I cant wait till I beat him. This is gonna be the best race ever.' Kagome thought to herself as she smirked.

"All right lets go!"

Every motorcycle racer was there at the starting line. By the looks of it Kagome could see about 20 people racing there.

"Hey! Shouldn't you be in the crowd watching from the sideline? Wouldn't want to hurt that pretty face of yours now would you?!"

Kagome looked to her left and then saw who had just told her that. She was the only girl racing so it was obvious that the guys would want to pick on her but what this guy said really got to her.

"Why don't you just put your money where your mouth is then we'll see who should be watching from the sideline." Kagome shot back at him.

"Ooh! I like em feisty." That was all he said before they saw the flag go down and then they were off. Kagome and Sesshomaru were in the front and everyone else was left eating their dust. Kagome couldn't help but laugh at the fact that Sesshomaru being the fastest and best racer in all of Tokyo didn't know what he was doing as so it seemed. Apparently Sesshomaru was doing fine until he looked to his right and noticed that Kagome was not there any more. He thought that he had just beat her when he passed the finish line until he noticed some one on a red and black motorcycle in front of him.

"What took you so long huh?" H recognized that voice and then cursed under his breath for not noticing that she had passed right by him and that he had just been beaten by a girl at his race. Kagome looked at him and then broke the silence that everyone had seemed to make around them.

"I think that the bet was one million?!" Kagome asked sarcastically as if she couldn't remember exactly how much it was.

Sesshomaru put the money in her hands and then Kagome left with Sango right after that.
