Kagome dropped her bike and scooped up her bow, going to stand behind Inuyasha. A disgruntled kitsune crawled out of the battered bike basket, whining Kagome's name at the same time as he ran over to jump on her shoulder.

Kirara stood in front of Sango as the taijiya switched outfits. Miroku had walked towards the pair until he was at Kirara's shoulder. Sango shot him a glare, but realized that she and the monk generally did fight near each other. Then again, he might just be moving over for a peek… She had hirakotsu raised for a hit when Inuyasha's next statement was bit out.

"The scent's strong. It's actually him," Inuyasha informed, his upper lip pulling back off his teeth in a snarl.

"Kohaku…" Sango whispered. Miroku looked over at her.

"We'll get him, Sango," he said. "Don't worry." About to cover her emotions with a retort, she turned and saw true concern on his face.

"Thank you." They both leapt onto Kirara as Inuyasha grabbed Kagome and led the way towards Naraku.

Sango was deep in thought about the coming battle when she sensed Miroku's hand begin to move towards her. She growled.

"Houshi, I still haven't forgiv…" she stopped short. The hand did not fall on her bottom, as it so often did, but on her shoulder. "Miroku?"

Miroku took a breath, drawing courage from his short conversation with the excited, if exasperated, miko.

"Sango, I love you. I wanted to tell you that now. And after this battle, I hope that you will stay with me and mother my children." He watched the side of her face for her reaction.
