On the ride back to the cave, Mika decided that she would finally show Inuyasha the shrine in her cave. “I almost told him once before, but we were interrupted. I suppose now is as good a time as any.” Sesshomaru stared at Mika, who was sitting with her back against Inuyasha's. “Those two don't always show it, but they seem to be quite in love. Should they mate, we shall have quite a mixed up family on our hands.” “Sesshomaru?” The inu-youkai broke his thoughts. “Yes, Mika?” “I had a question and was hoping you, being a youkai who's traveled many places, would know the answer.” “What is your question, sister?” “Well, I merely wondered, you know how hanyou, especially while mating, often lose control and let their youkai blood take over? Well, what if two hanyou mated? Would that still occur?” “I do not know from personal encounters, but, to my knowledge, it would not. Both being hanyou, they would be in tune with each other's feelings, so much so that their blood would be suppressed throughout the entire process. You need not worry, sister, I'm sure you and Inuyasha will have no problems.” Both hanyou faces turned bright red. “Damn, I knew I was too obvious. Why did I ever ask such a question around Inuyasha anyway?”
Now at the cave, Sesshomaru picked up the feeling that the hanyou needed some alone time. “Rin, Jaken, and Shippo, I require that you accompany me while I check the surrounding areas for some youkai. It's possible that hey may attack soon and would like to stop the battle before it begins.” Inuyasha and Mika looked at him bewildered as he sat atop Kirara, the others on Ah-Un. Mika could have sworn she saw Sesshomaru wink as he sped off. “What the hell was that about?” Inuyasha yelled. “I think he, uh, took the hint from what I said earlier that we needed some alone time.” Inuyasha's face turned red as he began to walk into the cave. “Inuyasha, wait a sec. You'll run into the-” THUNK! “-barrier.” “Damn barrier! Why don't you ever take that thing down?” “Because I don't want youkai attacking us while we sleep. Now come on.” Mika took hold of Inuyasha's arm and dragged him through the barrier and to the back of the cave. There, he saw a section of the cave wall that made a small ledge. Upon it sat scraps of red cloth, silver hair, and a bottle with a few drops of blood in it. Above these items, someone had written, “My Love” with charcoal. “Hey,” Inuyasha said as he sniffed the pieces of cloth, “theses are from my fire rat haori. How'd these get here? And that blood and hair, is that mine too?” Embarrassed, Mika nodded. “When I was younger, I followed you around for a long time. I never knew who you were, just that you were a really strong inu-youkai. I never would have guessed you were a hanyou back then. I guess I was kind of obsessed, huh?” Inuyasha smiled and nodded. “Just a little. Is this why you dragged me back here?” “Yeah. I wanted to show you how I felt about you.” Inuyasha walked over to Mika and pressed his lips against hers. Once they parted, he whispered, “I love you, Mika.” Mika smiled. “Hey, um, Inuyasha?” “Yeah?” “Did you mean what you said to Kouga, about me being yours?” “Of course I did. I still do.” “Well then,” Mika began, smiling, “do you wanna make it official?” Inuyasha smiled slyly and looked at Mika seductively. “You bet.”
Hours later, Inuyasha and Mika lay together in the cave, wiped out from making love. Mika's ran her hand across the mark on her neck, a red flame, inside of which was silver “I”. Inuyasha, too, had a mark. His was a crescent moon surrounded by blue and lavender stars. “Mika, did I ever tell you that I love you?” “Many times, Inuyasha, but you're always welcome to say it again.” “In that case, I love you, Mika.” “And I love you, Inuyasha.”
