~~Chapter 27: That Special Someone~~

“Kiss me, Kagome.”

Kagome looked up in time to have Vincent's lips crash over hers. His hand came up to cradle her face as he opened her mouth. He held her hand over his heart. She sighed softly before leaning back. He leaned towards her, his hand snaking under her shirt. “I need you,” He mumbled.

Kagome pushed him back gently, pressing herself against the passenger's seat of Vincent's car. He sighed and sat back down, still holding her hand. “Why do you refuse me, Kagome?”

“We've only been going out seven months,” she mumbled, blushing.

“Seven months, we're serious and we're both grown up.”

Vincent sighed and shook his head. “I don't understand, is it that you've never had sex before?”

“Is that all you want from me?” Kagome countered softly.

“Of course not,” He replied. “I'm just wondering.”

Kagome gulped. “I want to wait until marriage.” `Oh, damn, Kagome…that was priceless.'

Vincent blinked a few times before he grinned. “I like that, Kagome.”

She looked at him.

“Really…you've never been touched, that's…” He paused, caressing her cheek gently. “Good.”

“Its late, Vincent.”

He put up his hands. “Worry not my princess, I'll take you home right now.” He started up the car and headed for Kagome's house. “You're just amazing Kagome, you know that?”

She watched as he took her hand and kissed the top of her hand. “Thank you, Vincent.”

`Never been touched, huh?'

`I don't want to sleep with him.'

`Doesn't mean you have to make the poor guy believe you're a virgin.'

Kagome felt the heavy blush take over her cheeks. `When you put it that way, it sounds horrible.'

`It is, duh. All you had to say was that you didn't want to sleep with him. Sheesh…'

Kagome made a face. “Alright, baby, we're here. I'll pick you up tomorrow at six okay?”

Kagome nodded, leaned over her seat to plant a gentle kiss on him. “Alright, goodnight.”

“Love you.”

“You to,” She winked at him before quickly getting out of the car. She fumbled with the door before pushing it open. She quickly walked in to the living room.

“Problem!” She yelled.

Victoria, Sharei, and Emma let out blood curling screams. Victoria dropped the bowl of popcorn she was eating, Emma fell off the couch, and Sharei threw a pillow Kagome's way. “Its' just me!” Kagome yelled.

Emma was the first to recover. “Kagome! You scared the living shit out of us!”

“Not very smart to yell, in the dark, at three people who are watching scary movies.”

Kagome huffed. “How was I supposed to know you were watching something scary?”

Sharei rolled her eyes and turned on the living room lights. “Since you made us drop our snacks, you can help clean up.”

She clucked her tongue. “Think again, Sharei, I'm going to take a shower.” Kagome started away. “Toddles.”

“You like this one, Kagome?”

Kagome looked at Sharei, who was holding a red nail polish. Kagome nodded. “Yeah.” Sharei leaned down and started to paint Kagome's nails while Kagome finished painting Emma's finger nails.

“Guys I'm smitten,” Emma said, hazel eyes taking on a dreamy glaze.

“With who?” Victoria asked from her perch on her bed. She put down the magazine she was reading.

“This guy, he's so amazing. His name is David,” Emma sighed. “I'm telling you, he's just…the best.”

“How do you know?”

Emma sat up and started to eat popcorn. “Have you ever met someone that tickled your heart just by looking at them?”

Victoria snorted. “Not particularly.”

“Men are jerks,” Sharei mumbled.

Kagome sighed. “…Yes.” She whispered.

He leaned down to plant a gentle kiss on her forehead. “I missed you” InuYasha whispered.

Kagome felt her heart flutter

He grinned. “What, you're falling in love with me?”

She looked at him. “I love you.”

InuYasha pressed his cheek against her head “I love you to, Kagome.”

“G-Good…”

“I would love to go to sleep with you every night my beautiful Kagome and I would love to wake up with you in my arms every morning for the rest of my life.” He whispered.

“See? Kagome knows,” Emma said, looking at her friend. “He tickled your heart?”

Kagome nodded. “He tickled my heart every time I thought about him and he made it flutter when he kissed me and he made my entire body shake when he whispered to me.”

“Ahh, now that's magic, right there,” Victoria said.

`Yeah…magic…' Kagome winced.

“I'll be back in one week, okay Aniko?” InuYasha dropped blue-prints in front of his secretary, Aniko. He had fired Melissa almost three years ago, a few months after Kagome left, after finding out it was all cooked up by her.

Aniko's brown eyes looked up at him. She nodded. “Yes, Morikami-san.”

“When Sesshoumaru asks for these, give `em to him. There are three.”

“I will,” She said, taking the blueprints and setting them on her desk. “Have a safe trip, Morikami-san, I'll take care of everything.”

“You're good at this,” He muttered before leaving.

Oh yes, Aniko turned out to be one of best secretaries he's had. She was organized, well-mannered, respectful, did all her duties, didn't waste time reading magazines. And the best part? She was married. She didn't interfere and she didn't snoop around his office. `I should've fired Melissa the first week she started.'

“Now boarding flight 657, from Tokyo, Japan to New York City, USA.”

InuYasha grabbed his duffel bag before grabbing his passport and ticket and going to the gate. Problems had arisen in the Taishou Inc. of New York City. Apparently, the person hired to keep the company in check there had been ignoring his duties. Kouga was supposed to go, but InuYasha wanted to go more. It was the same week he had taken Kagome to New York when she was seventeen. He shook his head as he boarded the plane As much as he liked their private jets, the idea of flying to New York City alone didn't sit well with him.

`My New York Princess…I hope you're safe.' He thought, finding his seat and sinking down. Next to him, a woman sat down with her little boy. The little boy couldn't have been more than seven.

“Jared, please, sit still…” The woman mumbled, trying to secure the seat belt on her over eager son.

The little boy, Jared, groaned. “Mama, I don't wanna go!”

“Don't you miss home?”

“No!”

The blonde-haired woman sighed. “Well, we have to go back, darling. Daddy is waiting for us.”

“He's not my Daddy!” Jared screamed. Automatically, InuYasha growled at the crying pup.

The woman jumped slightly and looked at him. “I'm terribly sorry, sir.” She said and then turned around. “Jared, stop it this instant. You're on a plane, don't make a scene or there will be consequences when we get home.”

Jared went limp, a frown on his little face. The woman secured the seat belt before securing her own seat belt. “Honestly, I'm sorry, he's just a handful sometimes.”

“It's okay,” InuYasha said.

“You have children?” She asked timidly.

“Just an adopted son,” He replied, scratching the tip of his nose. “But he's married and has his own pups now.”

“Pups?”

InuYasha flushed. “Kids.”

“You don't look old enough to have a full grown child, even adopted.”

He shrugged. Jared pulled on his mother's sleeve. “Mama, I'm hungry.”

She sighed. “Jared, honey, wait a while okay? Try to sleep.”

As the plane took off, Jared cried harder, little shoulders shaking with the force of his sobs. The woman winced, helpless. InuYasha turned his head to the window. `Kiyoshi better take proper care of Misty and Baka.'

`I doubt Kiyoshi is one to kill other people's pets.'

`Feh! He's so wrapped up in getting what's-her-face to `yes' he might forget to feed `em.'

`He won't. He was happy to have them.'

He couldn't leave his dog and cat at home alone could he? About three months ago, Kagura had bought a small kitten, with silvery and gray fur and big dark green cat eyes. But as soon as her mate had walked in to the house, he had kicked the kitten out. Kagura went to InuYasha's house, told him to take care of the kitten while she convinced Sesshoumaru to keep the cat. InuYasha had taken in the little fur ball and had watched her play with the little balls Kagura had left her. After a week of being there, InuYasha decided to name the kitten `Misty' because of her fur. She wasn't so bad, in InuYasha's opinion. And almost a month ago, he had gone out and brought home a trained Golden Retriever. Because of its golden mane, InuYasha's original thought was naming the dog `Kin'. However, the wolf-youkai had complained and InuYasha had just rolled his eyes and said the dog's name backwards, making him `Nik'. But the stupid dog hadn't responded to the name and he stopped responding to `Kin'. In a moment of irritation, InuYasha called the dog `Baka' and it had titled its head to the side.

And the rest was history. Misty and Baka had gotten along quite well. Misty would curl up by Baka's feet at night and slept there. They were both well behaved and InuYasha had grown to like them, he supposed. And as a pet owner, he didn't want to find Misty and Baka dead when he returned to Tokyo. `I will kill Kiyoshi…' Kiyoshi had happily volunteered to keep Misty and Baka for the week, promising to take good care of them. InuYasha looked at Jared and his mother.

The child made a face seconds before he started to wail. InuYasha smashed his ears against his head. `This is going to be a long flight…'

“You'd think you'd get tired of visiting a giant toy store. But, nah,” Vincent said, wrapping his arm tighter around Kagome's waist. She grinned, taking a sip of her soda.

“So you say, but not at all.” They walked around Madison Square Garden, taking in sights and heading for 5th Avenue. Vincent leaned down, kissed Kagome's temple.

The giant TV screen flashed with colors of the Cup of Noodles. Kagome looked up. `Like ramen…' She thought absently.

“I was thinking, Kagome. My parents would love to see you again and they've invited us to dinner on Saturday.”

“That sounds wonderful,” Kagome said, smoothing out her dark blue skirt as they waited for the light to change.

Looking up at the flashing screen, Kagome nearly tripped when the words “New York Princess” flashed twice before a picture of her and InuYasha popped up. `Oh my God!'

Vincent looked up, frowning. His black eyes turned icy before he turned an incredulous stare on his girlfriend. “Care to explain?”

“I…that baka!”

“That what?” Vincent asked, making a face. “I don't speak Japanese, Kagome.”

Baka, baka, baka!”

Vincent stepped back. `Yelling in Japanese…'

“What's going on, Kagome?”

Kagome looked up at the picture, her chest constricting. “He-He's my ex-fiancé. But I left him before coming here!” Kagome looked around.

In her heart, she just knew the hanyou was roaming the streets of New York City. `Cover blown!'

`Don't run! Gods, you know you want to see him. You miss him so much it hurts, you dream of him every night. Forget Vincent, look for InuYasha!'

`InuYasha…'

`Yes! InuYasha! Its him, he's the one you want.'

“I---I've got to go!” Kagome yelled, dropping her drink. She turned around and ran as fast as her legs could take her, dodging people. She ran three blocks straight before hailing a cab. She distinctly heard Vincent calling for her before she told the driver to hurry.

She dropped bills on the driver before running out of the taxi, fumbling with her keys before she jerked open the door to her house. She almost ran down Victoria.

“My goodness, Kagome, what's wrong?”

“I-I…him…here…” Kagome panted out, trying desperately to catch her breath. Victoria titled her head in confusion, but Kagome hit the hardwood floor.

“Kagome! What's wrong? You're scaring me and you're going to break the floor”

“What's wrong with her?” Emma asked as she and Sharei knelt besides Kagome.

Kagome clamed down long enough to tell her friends what was wrong. “I saw a picture of me and InuYasha on Madison Square Garden and I panicked.” She gasped. “I even left Vincent standing there!”

“Why did you panic?” Sharei asked.

“Because…”

“It tickled your heart, didn't it?” Emma asked, giving Kagome a knowing look. “He's special to you, this InuYasha guy?”

Kagome felt the tears well up, but held them back. `He betrayed me' Victoria rubbed her back. “Kagome, don't hold it in. Let it out, its healthy to cry sometimes.”

“I've cried…to much for that baka.” Kagome placed the back of her hand against her mouth.

“He's it isn't he?” Emma pressed. Their friend needed to let it out. “He's that special someone that tickles your heart when you think of him, that makes it flutter when he kissed you, that made you shake completely when he whispered in your ear?”

Kagome chocked a sob. `That made you moan and groan his name when he touched you…that made you cling to him when he took you…'

She flung herself against Victoria, wailing. She wrapped her arms around Kagome, sighing softly. “Kagome…”

Emma and Sharei sat back, rubbing Kagome's back gently.

She leaned down to kiss him, sunk down on his lap, straddled him. “Wh-What are you doing?” InuYasha stuttered.

“Having my way with you,” She replied casually.

“I don't think---” His protest was cut off when Kagome kissed his neck, sucking gently, making him groan.

Kagome sobbed, her shoulders shaking with the force of her cries.

“Forever, Kagome. We were meant to be together, until the end of time, I will always find you, I know it.”

`Oh InuYasha…' Kagome sat up, dried her tears. “What did happen between you two?” Emma asked quietly.

“He…” Kagome sighed. “He cheated on me,” She slumped her shoulders. The doorbell rang several times before Sharei stood up to open it. Vincent gently moved her before kneeling down to hug Kagome.

“Kagome, sweetheart, are you okay?”

Kagome looked up at him. `You're so kind, Vincent' “Yes, I'm fine. Just a little emotional.”

“Why? What happened? Was it that bastard?”

Kagome shook her head. “No…it wasn't. I'm just being emotional.”

Vincent sighed. “I thought you were hurt, Kagome. Don't do that to me.” He held her tightly, her ear against his heart. Kagome glanced at Victoria who sighed and gave her a sad look. “I love you, Kagome, please don't cry.”

Kagome looked up at him. “I'm okay, Vincent, really. Thank you.” She leaned up to kiss him gently. “I-I'm going to take a shower, okay?”

“Are you hungry, sweetie? What do you want?”

Kagome almost cried again. `He's so kind to me' “Baked ziti?”

“Anything you want my angel,” He said, kissing her forehead softly. “I'll take good care of you.” He whispered.

Her body didn't shake.

Dear Diary,
I left the past because I had school work to catch up to. Mama gave me a brand new bike, well not brand new, but it was useable. My old bike got destroyed in the past. I worked hard to shine it up and make it pretty and stuff. For what? Only to have InuBaka come and destroy it again. No, that wasn't even the beginning. He shows up, KILLS my bike and I demanded he fix it. I thought it would so I went to school. Ayumi, Eri, and Yuka asked about my jealous boyfriend and I accidentally let it slip he was here. They wanted to see him. So I took them after my excuses failed. And what do I see upon arriving? My bike wasn't even a bike anymore…it was a piece of folded up metal just lying there. I screamed for InuYasha and I Osuwaried him! INUBAKA!

Kagome frowned. `Osuwari? Sit? Why would I say that?'

I told him to stay away while I left my friends in my room to grab something. But being InuYasha, I go up to my room only to find Ayumi, Eri, and Yuka asking InuYasha questions. I was so mortified. More than anything, I thought they saw his ears. How was I supposed to explain my boyfriend had dog-ears? Wait---did I just say `boyfriend'? Is that what he is? Wow, I wish. Sometimes though, I think that he'll never forget Kikyou. But just for today, he warmed my heart when he behaved with my friends. They actually liked InuYasha. I guess I owe him big. He was so cute with them, behaving…one of the many reasons why I truly love him.

Kagome closed her old diary when she heard a knock on the door. She opened up her bedroom door to see Vincent standing there with a boyish grin. “Liked your food?”

“Yes, it was delicious.”

“Good. I came in to tell you I was leaving.” He leaned down. “Kiss?”

“I have to go to the bathroom!” Kagome yelled as she ran. “Hold that thought for like three minutes!”

Vincent laughed and rolled his eyes. He walked in to Kagome's room and saw a slightly opened drawer. He walked over to it, sitting at the edge of Kagome's bed. Inside the drawer he saw a clothed rectangle. He frowned, picking it up.

`Cloth…what's it hiding?' He took off the cloth and revealed a silver frame. He could tell the girl was Kagome, she was unmistakable. But the one with her, the one who was carrying her had to be that ex-fiancé of hers, the one that kept popping back in to her life. He frowned at the picture. `Her graduation?' Just how old was Kagome when she decided to say yes to the guy?

She looked so happy, looking at the bastard. Vincent rolled his eyes. `I'll make her forget. I won't hurt you, Kagome. I love you to much to hurt you. I'll take care of you and I'll show you how a real man treats his woman.'

A/N:
Okay guys, bear with me here…just a few more torture chapters. Anyway, Kagome leaving was her own decision and I understand that I've placed her in a very `run away' attitude, but trust me…EVERYTHING will come together in the end, including why she reacts the way she does. `Course…that'll wait a while, ne?

~*Volition~*

Kagome mistakenly makes a wish on the jewel after Naraku's death. It forces the well to close and leave her second family behind. Now, InuYasha has waited 500 years to finally see Kagome again, but when he does see her, she is not the 'Kagome' he thought he'd face...

So how does a hanyou convince a miko to love him all over again?

Volition- the act of making a choice or decision; a desire; a wish.
