~~Chapter 29: Will of the Heart…~~
“Morikami.”
“Ah, InuYasha, I was hoping to catch you.”
InuYasha blinked before he registered the person who was talking. “Ruby? What's wrong?”
“I need the number for Prada in New York City. The representative of the company is supposed to arrive on Thursday and I just want to confirm. I have to make sure all the lines are present for the show.”
“Why would I have the number?”
Ruby paused. “Actually, you don't. I was hoping you could get the number from Kagura, the president's number. I had it and like a baka I misplaced it. Please, InuYasha?”
He sighed at the desperate way Ruby asked. “I'll call you back in a few minutes.”
Ruby squealed. He held the phone away from his ear. “I love you, InuYasha!”
He rolled his eyes. “Alright Ruby, I'll call you back. Bye.”
Ruby hung up and he set on going to talk to his sister-in-law.
InuYasha had a very big doubt about Sesshoumaru's ability to procreate. That was until, Kagura announced she was pregnant. The family had been very quiet, absorbing information that the tai-youkai had finally gotten his mate pregnant after centuries of being together. And they thought Kagura was carrying Sesshoumaru's heir until surprise, surprise…a beautiful baby girl was born. Even though that meant Sesshoumaru would have to try again, the pup was a sight to behold. Six month old, Miya Inutaisho had been born inu-youkai, signaling Sesshoumaru's blood had been stronger than Kagura's on the day they had created her. Miya had a bundle of silvery hair and big magenta eyes. Her wee claws always extended to her father, who was the only one who could stop Miya's wails. On her forehead, resided the crescent moon mark that Sesshoumaru had, lending her the extra abilities her father had.
And the best thing about Miya? As much as she liked her father, she adored her uncle. When InuYasha held her, Miya could giggle and make spit-bubbles. She liked his ears, liked to pull on them and bite his finger. And Sesshoumaru would make a face when InuYasha would give her back, his scent rubbing off on the baby. But was it InuYasha's fault he adored his niece? She was a joy, obviously not taking anything but looks from his jackass brother.
Raidon and Rini argued a lot. Raidon was set on rules while Rini was more loose. They usually fought over the now nineteen-year old Annabelle, who was in the process of moving out of her sister's home. But like mates, they knew how to settle their differences. Annabelle was still with Souta, who was ever so crazy about Rini's sister. Souta started going to Tokyo University to major in biochemistry. Annabelle, on the other hand, wanted to be a pediatric psychologist. Raidon, lately, was crazy for a pup, but Rini would not hear from it. She demanded that Raidon first learn how to be lenient when someone didn't obey him word for word before he thought of children. Of course, it was in Raidon's power to choose when Rini would get pregnant, but he didn't wish to completely anger his mate. They had to work together and if Rini said no to a pup he wasn't going to force one on her. He still tried to talk her in to it though.
Kin decided to tell Ruby what he was and when he did, Ruby ended up fainting. She was frightened of Kin for a while. But as she accepted the fact he wasn't human, she also gave him her full trust. He told her about mating and told her she was his mate. She was the one. Although Ruby didn't fully understand Kin's exact customs, she did understand that Kin wanted her and only her. How could a girl not be happy? And even though she still kept on her toes around people she didn't feel comfortable with, it was easy to tell that Ruby now fully trusted Kin who was trying to find the right time to ask her to marry him.
And while his brothers had their department of love filled, Kiyoshi wasn't so lucky. He would've honestly given up on someone else. His rejection department was in full overload. Alexandra wasn't like every other girl, she was special. Kiyoshi had never wanted a girl to pay attention to him as much as he wanted Alexandra Sueki to. Too bad that the wind-youkai didn't pay any attention. The farthest Kiyoshi had gotten was taking Alexandra home and that was only because he went in search of her to Kyoto only to find her stranded with her car broken down. And the times Alexandra accompanied her father to Tokyo for business, her politeness towards Kiyoshi was purely on the professional level. But Kiyoshi insisted that she did like him, she was just being stubborn. Even his father had told the pup to just move on, but Kiyoshi was Kiyoshi and he just wanted to take the girl on one date. Now, if he could get the girl to agree on the date, he'd be in business.
Shippo and Shiori's little joy, Hiroshi was now five years old. And Hiroshi was just like Shippo and like his father, he drove Shippo up the wall. The child was hyper, always bouncing off the walls and doing his tricks. Their second `joy' was two year old Jiro, who was more calm, unlike his brother. Jiro liked to poke his mother's belly, always annoying Shiori after the hundredth poke of the morning. Hiroshi and Jiro reeked havoc on the Kit household. And when they traveled to InuYasha, Kouga, Sesshoumaru, or any other person's house…they tried to reek havoc, until Shiori grabs them and pinches their arm, signaling in the punishment on the youkai to behave. And with all the craziness, Shippo still wanted more children.
And with so much going on, it wasn't surprising when Akina gave word that she would be returning home. Ayame was so happy, seeing her little girl again. And the precious `little girl' had mumbled about bringing home her mate. And with a confused sort of expression, Ayame had declared Akina and her mate were coming to Tokyo. Her mate? Oh yes, Kouga had loved that one. His rage had been a tangible thing. How could his only daughter mate someone they didn't even know? She never said anything about a mate until now. Damn, the pup had a mate…Kouga had growled the whole day, glaring at the door like he expected Akina to come through it with the bastard that had dared to mate her without his consent. Akina had said she was in California for her mate's final business plans before returning home. She would be arriving in two days, taking a plane from California to New York City and would then connect to another plane that would take them to Tokyo.
What else could happen next?
`Phone number…what she say?'
`Phone of the president of Prada in New York City.'
`Right, right…okay.'

The plan had been to continue with her plans of marriage for Saturday. And while her plans seemed flawless, they were very abruptly interrupted. The annual Fashion Festival was on the following Saturday, a week after Kagome's wedding date. Each line that would be having their designs walk down the runway had to send a representative twelve days earlier to see to it everything was going the way the company wanted it to. Ellena was scheduled to go to the city where the festival would be held, but the universe had other plans.
“You must do this for me, Kagome,” Ellena said, looking seriously at Kagome. Kagome held her breath. “I can't make it and this runway show is very important. You're the person I trust the most, the most talented…take care of this for me? I have the tickets, please, just go.”
Kagome looked at her boss.
“Hon, could you go? Please?” Ellena gave her a helpless look.
Kagome bit her lip “How long will I be staying there?”
“You must catch tomorrow's nine AM flight. You will be there two weeks. They need you there by Thursday. A representative from Fushigi na Agency called to confirm.”
Kagome furrowed her brows. “Fushigi na?”
Ellena nodded. “I need to call them back, please Kagome. I don't know what to do, this is important. My husband is in the hospital, I can't leave him. You'll be paid twice as much during the time you are there, I have two tickets, hotel all expenses paid is already reserved. Take someone with you to assist you. Please Kagome.”
`Four days to my wedding and I'm being asked to go back to Japan?'
`There is no such thing as a coincidence, Kagome. Its fate.'
`Fate? No way! I'm getting married in four days, I can't just take off!' “I would…but, my wedding.”
Ellena looked like she was about to cry. “Ka---go---me! I will personally pay for you to postpone your wedding, please, darling, please!”
`She's acting as if I just said I was having a birthday party. It's my wedding for Pete's sake.' “I can't, Ellena. I'm getting married and Vincent won't like it if I just take of.”
Ellena frowned. “Kagome, I've never asked you for anything else. Talk to your fiancé, tell him your job depends on it if you have to, just please go. I can't. I will pay to postpone it, I will pay for everything, just please, Kagome…please.”
`Do it, woman! Talk to Vincent, hell, she just offered to pay for everything to be postponed.'
“I will personally go talk to the place where your having your wedding, your caterers, cooks, anything you're having and inform them…I'll pay again. Kagome?”
Kagome stood up and grimaced. “Okay. I'll go.”
Ellena clapped her hands happily. “Oh Kagome, you're a doll! Don't worry about a thing, you'll still get married in two weeks! I owe you so much, Kagome. My Gods, thank you.”
Kagome nodded, taking the tickets. “What are you waiting for? Go! You have a morning flight to catch!”
Kagome ran out of the building, eager to get hold of Victoria and to pack her bags.

“What?”
Kagome threw clothes in to her suitcase. “I know, I know…Vincent?”
Vincent scowled, watching his fiancé pack her bags. “Kagome, the wedding is on Saturday, you can't do this to me.”
Kagome slowly turned around to face him. “I am so sorry. But this is important, it's my job and my career depends on this. You know how much that means to me, don't you? Besides, Ellena said she'd personally pay for everything to be moved. Vincent? We'll loose nothing, just moved. She said she'd take care of everything for us.” `Oh you sly wench…'
Vincent lowered his black eyes and sighed. “Kagome…”
She knelt down between his spread knees, leaning up to brush the bangs from his face. He looked heart-broken. He suddenly looked content as he grabbed Kagome's hands. “Go ahead, love…I'll take a late flight and we'll marry in Tokyo and postpone the wedding here.”
Kagome gasped, sat back. She slowly smiled. “You want to get married in Tokyo?”
“Yes,” He replied. “We'll marry there with your family and re-marry here. Saturday?”
Kagome nodded. “Saturday.”
That said, he kissed Kagome against before rushing out of the room. Kagome shook her head as Victoria popped in to the room. “I told Emma and Sharei the bad news and the postponement. Worry not, my friend, they were fine with it.”
She dropped her suitcase by the top of the staircase before returning to Kagome's room. “I'm so ready! I love you Kagome! You're taking me to Japan!”
Victoria hugged Kagome, jumping up. “I know why you took the job.” Victoria whispered. “He's in Japan.” Kagome glanced at her quickly, but Victoria winked. “You better not make fun of an American girl going there, I'll start repeating everything you say.”
Kagome laughed, pretending not to have heard anything. “Trust me, they won't.”
Victoria grinned happily, blue eyes shinning. “What should I wear?”
She twirled around before strutting out of Kagome's room. She stopped by the doorway, turned around fiercely. Just for a second, Victoria looked fierce. “I'm going to the biggest fashion show of the year.” She said seconds before smiling and going to her room.
Kagome took in a deep breath. Her heart fluttered in her chest as she stared at the plane tickets. Her heart had never beat so fast
Sleeping the day before taking a flight back to the place where she ran away from had never been so hard…

“I'm sleepy.”
“You can sleep on the plane, hon.”
“When are they calling us in?”
“In a minute. You need some patience, Akina, the flight leaves at ten. It's only nine.”
Akina rolled her pretty sapphire eyes at her mate before leaning comfortably against his shoulder. “Count on me sleeping the whole way through.”
Zachary Serrano raised his eyebrows in mock surprise. His teal eyes widened as he tried to absorb his mate's statement “You mean, you're not joining me in being part of the Mile-High Club?”
“Zachary…” She mumbled, not really trying to scold her mate as his suggestion. “Do you want to get us arrested?”
“Of course not,” He said, leaning down towards her. “You'll just have to be very quiet is all.”
When had her sweet water-youkai turned in to such a debaucher?
She wasn't looking forward to facing her angry father once in Tokyo. Kouga hadn't been happy at all when she'd told them the `good' news. Zachary didn't seem to mind, getting yelled at by an angry wolf-youkai. She hoped Kouga didn't try to really hurt Zachary. It had all happened so sudden.
She left Japan to concentrate on her studies. She left Japan so she didn't get to infatuated with the water-youkai. But in to her second year in England, she bumped in to none other than Zachary who was there to do an internship and finish his studies. And the rest was history…she had fallen in love with Zachary and without telling her family, she had allowed him to mark her as his mate. And they had been mates for almost two years already and the only way she'd been able to keep it a secret was because she hadn't gone to Japan at all. A secret until now of course.
And after England, Zachary was sent to California to finish up his final business plans before he agreed to go back to Japan with Akina. That's when Akina had called her family.
“Now boarding flight 322 from Los Angeles to New York City.”
Akina stretched out her body before getting up. The wedding band and engagement ring sparkled on her finger. The women sitting behind them coughed. “That's one hell of a rock…” one mumbled.
Akina's youkai ear caught the whispered conversation. “I know right…he's hot.”
Akina broke out a smug grin. “What are you so pleased about?” Zachary asked suspiciously, blushing. Her head almost reached his shoulder, missed it maybe by an inch. Zachary picked up the shoulder bags before jerking his head. Akina turned around to see the two brunettes.
She winked at them before happily trotting after her mate. All their waiting was tiring and the worst part? She had to do it all over again once they reached New York to connect flights. They boarded and plane and Akina sighed as she wiggled on the comfortable chair.
With the time difference, they were expected to arrive at J.F Kennedy Airport at six in the morning. From there, at nine in the morning, their flight to Japan would take off. Zachary grabbed Akina's hand. He kissed it gently. “Don't be afraid of your father, Akina.”
“I'm not,” Akina grinned. “I hope to see my friends again…and maybe, if Kami finally put them back…then I want to see Kagome again to. I miss her.”
“Ayumi, Eri and Yuka?”
Akina nodded. “Them to.”
“You had a fight.”
“That was in the past. We're twenty-four now, we're adults…plus, I'm sure she's over it. She can accept I married you.”
Zachary rolled his eyes as she watched his mate grin next to him.
