~~Chapter 31: Date With Destiny Pt.2~~

It was like that first time they had seen each other in the school. Kagome couldn't tear her eyes off of him. They held such intensity, intensity she missed dearly. Golden eyes burned her, washed over her warmly, but dangerously at the same time. And faster than anyone would see, InuYasha sped over to her, wrapped his arms around her and brought her against him.

He couldn't help it. To see her again, her beautiful face he couldn't help himself. Her scent had assailed his nose. He had forgotten he almost hit her with his car, he didn't think as he held her tightly to him. “K'gome…” He whispered, breathing in her scent deeply. “Kami, my beautiful angel.”

How could he resist her? He thought he could, but the emotions that crashed over him were too much for one hanyou. She whimpered against him. “InuYasha…” Her body fluttered to life in his arms, her heartbeat sped up, and a sense of completeness swept her.

“Let her go.”

InuYasha didn't expect it when Vincent yanked Kagome away from him. She winced as Vincent brought her towards him. The blanket of security InuYasha gave her was yanked away from her. “What the fuck do you think you're doing?” Vincent asked InuYasha, angrily.

The hanyou snorted, glared at the man. “Feh! Kagome?”

“She's my fiancée,” Vincent supplied since his `fiancé' seemed to have lost her ability to speak. “Back off, you almost killed her

That was like a dousing of cold water. Looking back, InuYasha realized his car was still blocking the street. He swiftly went over to move it. Kagome frowned. `He's leaving…'

“Let's go.” Vincent said, pulling Kagome with him. Emma shook her head.

“We have to get his information,” She said, glancing at Kagome. “He did almost squash you, Kagome.”

`They're buying time…' Kagome realized. She nodded, stepped away from Vincent. She turned around only to bump in to the hanyou again.

“I-Information…”

“You're going to throw lawyers at me?” InuYasha asked dubiously, crossing his arms over his chest and scowling.

She flushed. “Damn straight she will,” Vincent said, casting InuYasha a formidable glower. “You almost squashed her, jackass.”

“Shut the fuck up, I wasn't talking to you.” InuYasha snapped back, growling at the human.

Enough!” Kagome yelled, glaring at both men. She looked up at InuYasha. “I'm not really going to like file anything against you, InuYasha. I wasn't watching where I was going.” `You should've gotten hit…' the voice inside her head said with a snort.

Kagome rolled her eyes. `Now is not the time!'

“Feh! That's what you get, wench,” He bit his lip. `Kami, baka! I almost squashed her…' He looked at her again, sniffing in her direction. “You aren't hurt are you?”

She shook her head. “Are you sure? I smell blood.”

“You smell blood?” Sharei asked, green eyes flaring wide.

He grabbed her arm, lifted it up to look at her elbow. A tiny scratch had a tiny trickle of blood oozing out of it. “Feh!” He said softly, though she could tell he felt bad. “I'm sorry, Kagome.”

“It's okay,” She mumbled.

“If you're not going to do anything, let's go.” Vincent said, firmly, but gently grabbing her arms and leading her away. Kagome sighed.

“Bye…”

He stood there, unsure of what to do. `Fuck no, wench…I swore I'd beat you black and blue and hell, I could just beat him.'

He quickly caught up with Kagome, yanking her away from Vincent. “InuYasha!” She yelled, cheeks flushed with irritation. She grabbed a fistful of his black tee shirt. “You baka let me go!”

He growled at Vincent. “Tell me you don't love me, Kagome. Look me in the eye and tell me. If you can, I'll leave you alone.”

“InuYasha!” She fumed, stomping her foot on to his, digging her heel in to him. He hissed and narrowed his eyes on her.

“Four words, wench…easy as hell.” He said, re-wrapping his arms around her.

“I don't---”

“Can you really do it?” InuYasha challenged. “Are you sure? I know you still love me,”

Kagome snorted. Vincent reached in again, but InuYasha slapped his hands away. “I'm going to fucking shove my foot up your ass if you don't stay away.” He growled, slapping on his most formidable glare. Not like the human stood down, though.

“I know you still love me, Kagome.” He nudged her forehead with his nose. “Are you honestly telling me you don't want me to hold you? Keep you safe? Caress you and make you warm? You don't want me to make love to you again?” He blinked innocently.

Kagome was sure her cheeks were beyond saving at this point. She breathed in deeply. She knew her friends heard everything he was saying. `Baka! I'm going to kill him!'

`Cover blown…Vincent so heard that.'

He wasn't willing to let Kagome hurt him, but he knew deep down she still loved him. Otherwise, her Miko wouldn't be able to talk to him. If she could say those words, he'd leave her alone forever. He needed to hear them and for that to be true, he needed to remind her of the things she had.

“I won't loose you, Kagome.”

“You already have,” She pushed him back. Vincent grabbed her hand and led her away. She tried to stop her racing heart.

InuYasha stuck his hands inside his pockets. `Time to give Ruby a call.'

He grinned. `She didn't say it. I knew the wench couldn't. Game on, Kagome.'

“Kagome?”

She sighed and turned to face Vincent' questioning black eyes. “Yes?”

“You slept with him?”

She blushed and winced.

“You said you were a virgin.”

“I didn't. You assumed it.” She argued weakly. `That is just evil.'

“Kagome!” He made a face. “It was implied, damnit…why him and not me?”

Kagome entered Fushigi na Modeling Agency. “I didn't want to make the same mistake twice.”

“Mistake?” He was darkly. “Your failure with him makes you dump the consequences on me?”

“What consequences?” Kagome snapped. The three girls kept quiet. “I'm not required to sleep with anyone, Vincent and if you can't understand that then you don't really love me.”

He snorted. “I understand it just fine. But just because you make mistakes with other people, you shouldn't press those mistakes in your next relationship, Kagome.”

She glared at him before walking away. “Kagome!”

“Ruby!”

Her anger drained away when the tall blonde-haired photographer hugged her tightly. “Kami, I've missed you so much!”

Kagome laughed. “I've missed you to, Ruby. It's so nice to see you again.”

She looked behind Ruby to see Kin standing there, hands in his pockets. His green eyes sparkled. “Kin!” She ran over to him, hugged his tightly.

“Aunt Kagome, how are you?”

“I'm fine, I'm here for the runway show. Ellena McGuire couldn't make it so I'm here in her place. I get to show off a design of mine.”

“That's excellent work, I always knew you had it in you.” Kin said, grinning. Kagome stepped back.

“These are my roommates from where I live now. This is Victoria Valentine, Emma Romano, and Sharei Mitsuki.” She turned to Vincent. “And this is my fiancé, Vincent Von Villarreal.”

Kin looked at Vincent with interest. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “Aunt Kagome, I surely thought once you returned to Tokyo you'd wear my Uncle's ring on your finger.”

Kagome elbowed Kin's side. He winced. “Don't be silly, Kin. Vincent and I are getting married here in Tokyo after the show.”

“Really?” Ruby asked and smiled. Kagome looked at the ring on Ruby's finger.

“Ah, Ruby how are you and Kin?”

Ruby beamed. “He proposed last night!” She showed Kagome the beautiful platinum and sapphire ring.

“Congratulations. I always knew you two were meant to be.”

Kin snorted. Ruby giggled. “Thank you, Kagome. Come on, we have work to do. We got the clothes a few days ago and all the models are present. Expect you're a model short.”

“I am?” Kagome said as she started to follow Ruby.

“Yes. A very gorgeous evening gown, there's no model for that one.”

Kagome snapped her fingers. “Ellena allowed me to runway one of my designs, Ruby. I have yet to choose a model for it. Though, I wondered if you would like to wear it?”

Ruby gasped. “Really? Oh Kagome, I don't know…I mean, I've never walked an evening gown before.”

“You're perfect Ruby. Let's go try it on before I get things straightened here.”

Ruby followed her. Kin stayed behind with the girls and Kagome's fiancé.

“Uncle, seriously…” Kin rolled his eyes as InuYasha sat down besides him. For the magazine that was covering the fashion show, they needed the front page cover shot. Although not featured on the runway, Kagome was featured with her design and therefore, Minnamori had wasted no time in getting Kagome on to the front cover. But until Kagome's re-debut, she was busy with her fifteen models that would be modeling the top Prada designs plus hers.

Kiyoshi sunk down besides InuYasha. “Ahh, the love of my life is here.”

Kin rolled his eyes. Alexandra Sueki arrived in Tokyo as a representative for Sueki Company, one of the sponsors of the show. She was helping Kagome put the final touches on the model's look for their strut.

“Alexandra hates the living shit out of you, Kiyoshi,” Kin said, chucking his half-empty water bottle at his brother. Kiyoshi snorted.

“She says she hates me, but I know she's warming up to me.”

InuYasha rolled his eyes. “Hate to say it, pup, but hell will freeze over before that girl gives you a chance.”

Kiyoshi grimaced. “That hurts you know. I really don't know what to do anymore. I've tried everything in the book. She's just…maybe she's a lesbian.”

“Alexandra?” Kin asked incredulously. “No, Kiyoshi…highly debatable. Wasn't she dating that youkai…what was his name…uhhh..”

“I was kidding, baka. And Missoko? No, that ended almost three weeks ago. That hurt though. She gives everyone, but me a chance” Kiyoshi said, sighing. He watched the way the wind-youkai moved. She bent down, straightened up again. She whispered things to Kagome and the Miko nodded. “She's gorgeous. I'd be the happiest youkai alive if that girl would pay attention to me.” He sighed. “I can't give up though, hell, I have nothing to loose.”

“Kiyoshi, you're going after her because you have nothing better to do?”

Kiyoshi scowled. “No, I really do love her you know. She just…I don't know. I can't give up. It could be beautiful.”

“Or it could end in you still not getting her.”

Kiyoshi sighed. “Maybe…probably. Keh! Damnit, how do you get a woman who doesn't want you?”

Kin shrugged. InuYasha shrugged. “I have my woman.”

“Feh!”

Kiyoshi rolled his eyes. He watched as his precious wind youkai turned around a little to fast and bumped in to one of the men working with the runway crew. Her heel slipped from under her and she fell back, flat on her ass. Kin and InuYasha chuckled. Kiyoshi snorted before walking over to the fallen girl.

“Need a hand?”

Alexandra looked up at him, rolling her violet eyes. “It's you…” she said, having no bones about not hiding her disgust.

“Yes, it's me. Stop being so stubborn, let me help you up.” He tried to grab her hand. She slapped his hand away, standing up herself.

“Thanks, but no thanks.” She said, crossing her arms over her chest. “Can I help you? If you're here to ask me out again, I'll kick you.”

Kiyoshi scowled. “Actually, I was here to tell you I found my mate since the last time I saw you.”

That caught the girl's interest. “Really…oh,” She clucked her tongue. He watched as she flipped her black hair over her shoulder. Her dark red highlights sparkled with the light of the stage. “Who's the lucky girl?”

Kiyoshi grinned lazily. “She is the luckiest girl alive isn't she? I mean, I'll love her forever and I'll take care of her until the end of time. And I'll give her the best sex of her life.”

Alexandra chuckled. “Oh yes, of course, Taka-san.”

“Formalities, Alex? Please, I thought we were past that stage.”

“I don't think so.”

“My mate is standing right in front of me.”

She frowned. “I don't think so, Kiyoshi. I've said it a million times before and I'll say it again. I'm not interested in you. Seriously, it's not funny anymore.”

Kiyoshi grimaced. “What do I have to do to get you to notice me? I've been standing here right in front of you for years and you've never given me a chance. Why?”

Alexandra sighed. “Because I'm not interested.” She made a face, but softened when she watched Kiyoshi's sad expression. “Move on, Kiyoshi…please.”

That said, she turned around and walked back to the models. He sighed. He'd never wanted anything more badly in his life than he wanted Alexandra Sueki.

Why was destiny against him and Alexandra?

“Kami, is the whole family here?” Kin made a face as Akina and Zachary walked in to the preparation room. She sauntered over to Kin and leaned down to kiss his cheek before she kissed InuYasha's cheek.

“Is Kagome around?”

“Why are you here?” InuYasha countered.

She shrugged. “Ruby said Kagome had designed the most gorgeous gown and I was wondering if she could design a wedding dress for me.”

“And of course, she dragged me along also.” Zachary said, stuffing his hands in his pockets.

“Sucks to be you,” Kin muttered. He looked up at his sister. “She's over there, with Alexandra, Ruby, and some other people.”

Kiyoshi sunk down besides Kin and sighed heartedly. “Got dumped?”

“For like the zillionth time,” Kiyoshi said.

“Excuse me?”

The family looked to Victoria, who had a complete face of confusion. She held hangers in her hands. Kiyoshi looked at her, blonde hair falling around and her brilliant blue eyes looking at him. “I have no idea where anything is, could you please help me?”

Kiyoshi slowly stood up and glanced at Alexandra. “Ummm…sure.”

The pretty girl grinned. “Kagome asked me to go to dressing room six, you know where that is?”

Kiyoshi nodded. “Yeah, come on.” He grabbed the hangers and jerked his head. “My name is Kiyoshi Taka.”

She grinned. “Victoria Valentine, I'm Kagome's friend. I came with her.”

“Oh…”

“Yeah, we're helping her out, but you know…I don't know where things are around here.”

Kiyoshi shot her a side glance and smiled. `Victoria huh?'

A familiar scent caught his nose and he turned around in time to see Alexandra walking behind them, violet eyes catching his sapphire ones. She frowned before going in to one of the bathrooms.

Kiyoshi sighed. “Girlfriend?” Victoria asked. Kiyoshi shook his head.

“Not at all. I'm all yours.”

Victoria laughed.

Akina had practically begged her to design a wedding dress. Even with the things between them, Kagome couldn't refuse a friend. She had agreed to make Akina's wedding dress. Zachary told her he'd pay for Kagome to make it, but Kagome refused. She was happy to make the dress for one of her best friends.

And after she had prepped the models, they had left and been told to be there five hours prior to the show. The rest of the lines also prepped their models. But once Kagome was done, Ruby called on her to go up to the eleventh floor for the photo shoot. The cover would be a picture of Kagome and on the first page of the inside of the magazine would be the picture of the top ten models featured in the show. Kagome opened the robe and grimaced.

The bikini Ruby had given Kagome was tiny. The black top, barely held her breasts. And two platinum rings at her hips held the bottom together. The thin material made Kagome feel uncomfortable. `I suppose there's no help for it. Kami, Ruby couldn't have picked a more decent one?' She tried to adjust the top, but to no avail.

“Come on, Kagome…” Ruby poked her head in to the dressing room. “Wow! That bathing suit is amazing on you.”

“Really? It's so small.”

“That's the point, Kagome. C'mon, you have to put on your tiara.”

Kagome put on the little white robe Ruby gave her and continued to the make-up and hair. Sitting there, she could see the reflection of the people working to set up the lights and Ruby adjusting the lenses. Vincent, Emma, Sharei, and Victoria sat on a long bench near the back of the shoot. Kin strolled in to the studio, followed by InuYasha. She gulped as his eyes stared at her through the mirror. She closed her eyes, allowing the make-up artist to put on the eye shadow.

“Is she almost ready?” Ruby asked.

“Yeah, doll, give me like ten more minutes.” The make-up artist replied. Ruby nodded and turned around to see Kin. She walked over to him and greeted him with a small kiss on his lips.

“Are you tired my mate?” Kin asked. Ruby shook her head.

“Not at all,” She said, reaching behind her to tighten the scrunchie that held her blonde hair up. Kin raised one of his black eyebrows at him. Ruby rolled her eyes. “Okay, maybe a little tired. Nothing catastrophic though, I'll live.”

“I came to tell you that father wants to me go to Beijing for a few days. I've got some things to take care of.”

“Oh,” Ruby tapped her index finger on her chin. “How long?”

“Four days. I'm leaving tomorrow morning.”

She sighed. “I'll miss you.”

“I'll miss you more.”

“No way…I'll miss you more.”

“There goes my lunch,” InuYasha mumbled. Kin rolled his eyes. InuYasha plopped down besides Vincent who was watching Kagome with interest. Kin sat on Vincent's opposite side.

“This isn't the first time Kagome models right?”

Kin looked at the human man. “Nope, she's done this a lot of times.”

“Feh! Obviously knows shit about Kagome.” InuYasha cut in, taking a drink from his bottle of water.

“She didn't like to talk about her horrible life here.” Vincent said, mimicking InuYasha's scowl.

“She was happier here than wherever the hell she lives now.” InuYasha have him a smug grin. “She lived with me.”

Vincent narrowed his eyes. Kin sighed. “Stop acting like children. Kami, I hope Au—Kagome kills you both.”

InuYasha settled back, glad to have put a dent in Vincent's demeanor. Ruby was talking to Kagome, showing her the poses the girl should try. Kagome nodded at all of them before Ruby walked over to the camera and signaled Kagome to go.

He watched as Kagome stood up and blushed. She bit her lips before the white robe fell off her shoulders, revealing the small bikini she wore underneath. Ruby walked over to her again. InuYasha sucked in his breath, looking at Kagome.

“That's my fiancé,” Vincent said, shooting InuYasha a glance. “We're getting married in a week, here in Tokyo whether you like it or not. You can't stop it, you've lost Morikami.”

InuYasha didn't reply, but he did catch Kagome's gaze. And when he did, the girl flushed. `We'll see about that jackass.'
